Obama looked like the five year old. He interrpted, raised his finger, made faces and in general was a sideshow. He agreed with John 9 times! McCain never interruped never raised his hand and kept to himself. People want a president-in-training are just like chirs Matthews, they get a "tingle" up their legs, man-love. actually Obama is Michelle's third kid. I think an unqualified obma for president is dangerous, who will be actually running the government? one of his minions? Obama is lazy and has no experience except as a community organizer causing trouble and ripping off the Government. But his got ACORN and they will get thousands of ballots and fill them as usual.

And now this from the guy who today is accusing Obama of not telling the truth about his voting record. McCain didn't even bother to show up to vote on the bills he's talking about. McCain has the worst attendance record of any senator, worse even than the guy from South Dakota who suffered a stroke this year.

McCain really has to think the voting public is a bunch of fools to believe him when he says Obama isn't telling the truth - after all the lies he's been telling. I suppose he figures he's been getting away with it so far.

McCain is showing more and more he is naive regarding the media....In this day and age you need be media-savvy...Attacking the press as biased simply brings more bad press...particularly, when McCain and his running mate have given plenty for the media to report...McCain is simply erratic...and it shows..His running mate is out of her league....and it shows as well...

I think it's important that we all be able to admit when our candidates make a mistake, and John McCain made one here. I actually think the Biden Coal ad needs to come down. Sauce for the goose, you know.

Thank God for George W. Bush-yes is said it-he is and was the right man to teach us the error of our way. All McCain kept ranting on was his record in countries that were in a mess in the 80s' and 90s' after the collapse of the Soviet Union. I know you want to assure us you're experienced, but McCain, you didn't say much on WHAT EXACTLY you will do, nor did you show how you would be different from Bush. You did not seem to give a thought to the fact that our world standing has plunged because of the Iraq fiasco (although it's slightly less of a fiasco right now), and lots of people worldwide see America as a war-mongering country that has no respect for international law (we invaded Iraq against the UN Security Council Resolution) and a big bully.

People are not going to join some league of democracies or whatever. We already have the United Nations- and we need to include those hostile countries in the UN so we have some means of engaging them. A league of democracies could very well start another Allied vs. Axis sort of Cold War, this time with the US and Russia on opposing side, as seen from the rise of China and Russia.

The last thing we need is a polarized world.

Recent update on the compaign trail. After their latest attempts at of stall and spin recovery have run into difficulty, the Republicans asked the question in the VP debate to be changed from multiple choice to a true or false formate.

And, pathetic as his present physical injuries are, the wounding of his psyche that inevitably accompanies physical wounding, on top of the arrogant upper-class prig personality he took into the service, would hardly add up to qualifications for office. Consider the ill-tempered, irratic, impulsive behavior witnessed and documented about McCain. Assaulting coworkers when he disagrees with them, calling his wife filthy names in public. We don't need a warped, messed-up person for president.

Instead of addressing the key foreign policy challenges of our time - a resurgent Russia, China rising, North Korea and Iran increasingly belligerent, wars on two fronts, and an increasingly worried Israel....All McCain was saying was to stay the course with the same approach we have taken over the last eight years, an approach that has NOT WORKED. SO to me, the two positions are very clear...do we stay the course, and quite likely risk war on another front, or do we try something different. On Foreign policy the choice is really that simple.

Holiday Bombings Kill 27 in Baghdad

Thousands have lost their lives. Many thousand more have returned home maimed. U.S. troops led by their superiors are responsible for killing thousands of innocent Iraqi's. The U.S. rationalized going into that country as a humane/democratic thing to do. We have been responsible for far more deaths than Sadam Hussein was. The war has cost our country alone upward of a trillion dollars, and no doubt by the time we have taken care (if that is possible) of all the destruction, it will be most likely at least THREE trillion dollars. McCain acts like staying and "WINNING" is possible. WINNING WHAT? The resentment and disrepect of nations around the world for the MCCAIN supported terrorism on IRAQ? McCain's idea of patriotism and winning are based on his love of war games and winning them. My idea of patriotism is upholding the sacred ideas of our Constitution. Barak Obama is thoroughly knowledgeable of the law and the Constitution having taught Constitutional Law. In my estimate, Obama is the real patriot, the real American hero for standing against that war. He has what is needed to be President.

Reasons Why I can't vote for Obama.

Health care:
More services means more taxes, more taxes means a greater disparity between those with money and those without (tax loop holes allow the richest Americans to pay the smallest percentages).

Foreign Policy:
Leaving Iraq because misinformed voters think it is the right thing to do is a bad choice. Going into this war was a bad choice, but as with any fight its a bad idea to start one and try to walk away, usually you get kicked in the ass harder.

Domestic Policy:
More is not better, especially when the only thing we are going to have more of is government. The free market needs no governmental interference, regulations don't stop violations, consumer dollars do though. More government (THANKS CLINTON ERA DEMOCRATS) gave us Fannie may and Freddie mac the leaders in the sub-prime mortgage crisis and attributed greatly to our current economic situation.

Religion:
Wright is a bigot, and Obama listened to him for many years but was only offended the year of the election? Sounds like his religion is like his smile, superficial.

Appeasement is not the solution to life's problems. Obama and Kerry have a lot in common, they change their mind and position with pop culture not fact.

McCain says that Obama doesn't understand the difference between tactics and strategies...this is just odd. McCain's campaign has been nothing but continuous tactics to get on top of the news cycle, whereas Obama seems to have a long term strategy for his campaign--so it is McCain, not Obama that doesn't understand the difference.

McCain's campaign slogan was that national security experience matters, that is, until he picks an Alaska governor who just started thinking about Iraq, Afghanistan, and Russia yesterday.

McCain's only hope is a double standard. Palin is the only star that I have heard of who can say nothing and even when she speaks the listener is responsible to understand when she means something other than what she says. They think voters are fools.

My prediction for October surprises are:

1. McCain health records will be exposed creating uncertainty in his presidential bid

2. Problems with McCains statements, he will contradict himself every 5 minutes and will not understand the ramifications of any financial matters...... he will continue to 'shoot from the hip', gamble and undermine his own efforts by an ever increasing 'sleazy' political ad campaign.

3. Federal Investigations will reveal that McCain staff are tampering with Alaskan justice officials and witnesses, and Palin's 'troopergate' will reach new lows. Ted Steven's trail will pour gasoline on a smoldering fire.

In the Rasmussen Reports daily tracker, Barack Obama maintained his 6 point lead and 50% number in today’s poll. Obama leads John McCain 50% to 44%.

In the Gallup daily, Obama had nice movement and now leads McCain 50% to 42%. That is a gain of 1 for Obama and a drop of 2 for McCain since yesterday.

The full impact of the debate and its aftermath will not be reflected in the tracking data until Tuesday’s report, which will be based on interviewing conducted Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Still, Gallup’s one-day read on the standing of the two candidates on Saturday suggests that Obama held the lead over McCain among registered voters that night, just as he had for the two previous nights.

What’s it mean? It means Obama is polling very strongly right now, we will more than likely see some good state polls in Battlegrounds appear next week for Obama and we will also likely see a major negative shift in the McCain campaign.

The overall problem for McCain — they now likely will go very negative, but the big part of the undecided clip of voters are independent voters, and for the most part, independent voters have disdain for negative campaigning.

After 8 years of hell with Bush and his cronies you expect America to buy this repackaged garbage. Not this time.

It is real interesting how some republicans are trying to justify why McCain would not look or talk directly to Obama. You don't have a clue why he did it, so stop trying to act as if you know what is going on. McCain is insulted that he must go through an election for something he obviously thinks he deserves because he is a POW. He has been using that all his life. This is too important of a job. We need to judge him one his merits NOW. And they have not been very good.

Zane, I said I read it, not that I heard it. But I did listen to the debate and it sure seemed like it was a lot more than 5 times he said it than you are claiming.

BTW after losing the nomination to Bush in 2000, McCain stated in an interview that he would support Bush's re-election in 2004, and that by 2008 he would be ready for a retirement home and therefore not be running for President again.

Senator Obama is winning the presidency by a significant percentage. The only strategy left for Senator McCain and the Republicans is to continue the "low road", but take it to the "ultra-low road". Expect these lies posted here to become more main stream in the battle states.

There is silly stuff out there that is absolute hogwash. Really intelligent people don't believe this stuff, but some less observant people-which there are many-listen to inflammatory radio,websites or read silly books for non-fact-based information sources and have continued to feed the rumors. We need to call all of this out- each one of us.

Some nasty lies and dirty tricks are:

1) FALSE: Barack wasn't born in the US and doesn't have a birth certificate, therefore can't be president. TRUE: Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and has a valid birth certificate that has been peer reviewed by independent non-partison groups and posted on many websites. No informed, intelligent person believes this rumor, but it continues

2) FALSE: Barack is a muslim. TRUE: Barack is NOT a muslim. Barack and his family, and grandparents have been Christians for decades. No informed, intelligent person believes this rumor, but it continues.

3) FALSE: Obama is part of and befriended radical Weather Underground TERRORISTS, and Bill Ayers. TRUE: Barack was 8 yrs old when this group and person was a terrorist. This is silly stuff. Ayers later became a professor and contributed to an education non-profit that Barack as a civil rights lawyer and constitutional professor provided assistence. They didn't work together at all for the same projects. The documents have been made public to the press. No informed, intelligent person believes this rumor, but it continues.

3. FALSE: Barack has people on his staff who worked for or were lobbyists for FANNIE MAE/FREDDIE MAC. TRUE: Barack has noone working on his staff that fits this. However, Senator McCain has many people including Davis (Campaign Manager) that received major funding from FANNIE MAE/FREDDIE MAC over the last year and continued funding in the case of Davis' own company even last month directly from the McCain campaign.This scandel broke open last week to a much higher degree.

4. Of course there will be many more rumors that are blown out of proportion. And make sure you look for those that paint Barack as being "elite" or "exotic" or code words for "other" or "race". The ultra-low road will be a road that takes the American people to an uglier place than it is now. Please watch and defend.

It has been widely reported that Obama was using his time between campaigning to bone up for the election, plus he was talking to the boys in DC trying to broker an agreement for the bailout. Wow!
I am sure he was reading Cliff notes on How to Appear Like A Foreign Policy Expert. Oh, but I thought he said that if he got that 3 am call on the red line in the White House, he would wake up his VP to tell him what to do in a international crisis. I feel so much safer now.

This morning as I was watching George and he asked McCain about Palin, McCain looked like a junior high boy with his first crush. He gushed about her, how likable she is and the excitement she's brought to the campaign, but never offered any hint of her qualifications. After her disastrous interviews with Charlie and Katie, perhaps she would be better off running for Mrs. America than VP of the US.

David says "Obama agreed with McCain 55 times during the debate", yeah he's a republican all right, they NEVER let the truth interfere with their opinions.

No wonder McCain gets away with so many lies, he knows his followers are just as bad.

The problem with WestCoastMessenger's announcement (as with those of John McCain) is that it flies in the face of his record. Just as we can google John McCain and see that his voting record and previous statements contradict many of his current assertions, so too can we google WestCoastMessenger and find post after post of him bashing Obama. "Soft support" indeed...
