Obama Hits McCain on Economy

If you are an accountant an economist, or know how the economy realy works; Obama gave the election to McCain in his Grand Junktion speech. He refered to McCain voting against the Democrat's passing their "election year minimum wage bill." That bill set off the crash in the economy. A "minimum wage increase" is in reality an adjustment in the value of our dollar. OUR DOLLAR IS NOW WORTH LESS THAN IT WAS AND VERY FEW PEOPLE ACUALLY RECIEVED ANY INCREASE IN THEIR PAY CHECK. Look at the prices in the store, are you better off? Who was right?

Obama is still puting his money on voters not being knowlable enough to know that it is the Congress, not the President, who failed in the financial crisis we are in. There are no executives in financial insitutions who did not know the ultimate results of non-fixed rate home loans or loans at greater than 9%.

I don't belive these scare tactics are going to work those aged 55 or older can still sell ONE house and NOT PAY capital gains tax. That is IF you can get a loan to buy a house anymore after yesterday. some friends and I have said for just over two years this was going to happen I wish for the sake of those who have lost their jobs,retirement and healthcare that we were wrong. How long the recovery will be is up to all of us This was the perfect storm and now it time to begin to recover.

If I didn't already know you were pulling the lever for Obama, I'd ask you if you'd mind giving half the scruitiny to Obama that you do McCain and Palin. But then again, Palin's teleprompter and heaping praise on Obama is so much more relevant to real bread and butter issues. Shouldn't you have "official sponsor of the DNC" next to the ABC logo up top?

Even though I think McCain is an idiot for saying that our economy is fundamentally sound, Obama seems to be taking every hit he can get. If I were Obama, I would stop worrying about what McCain has to say, and worry about my own campaign. As for McCain, he needs to open his eyes to the daily decreasing economy. If he doesn't want to mention the elephant in the room, then we will have a problem if he gets elected and the elephant is neglected.

Millions of American households own equities. I bet it is nearly half.

And it is not just capital gains taxes that Obama wants to increase. And BTW, where do the jobs come from in America? Most come from small businesses, a fundamental part of our economy that will remain strong with McCain-Palin.

Obama's economic plan would bankrupt America and his spending fantasies would lead to trillions more in the national debt.

America can't afford Obama! He costs too much and can't deliver!

Can't wait to see McCain-Palin shake up Washington and Hillary Clinton as Majority Leader in the US Senate to work together with McCain and get things done for America!

The Washington DNC elites and crooks have had the power for far too long. it is time for We The People to take back Washington and put ot to work for America!

Let me get this straight. John McCain's top economic advisor, former Sen. Phil Gramm, is the guy who authored the deregulation law that most agree is the ultimate cause of today's financial meltdown. Tomorrow's and probably next week's too. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. John Thain, CEO of Merrill Lynch, which swirled into brokerage oblivion today, is one of McCain's top economic advisors too. And now McCain says he's going to clean up the mess by putting in tighter regulations and oversight even though he's always supported lax oversight and his top economics guy is the one who loosened the rules in the first place.

Here we go again. Barack Obama pretending to be President before he is one.

Not during war, Flash. It's very, very different when we are at war.

In 1975, the US Department of State, in considering similar complaints against Senators John Sparkmand and George McGovern, concluded as follows:

"Nothing in section 953 [Logan Act]…would appear to restrict members of the Congress from engaging in discussions with foreign officials in pursuance of their legislative duties under the Constitution."

Obama has long said that any agreement governing the future of US forces must be reviewed by the US Congress, as it would tie a future administration's hands on Iraq. This does not violate the Logan act.

Don't try to distort and swiftboat anybody now. There is nothing wrong with having Congress review any plans for the future of US forces. It is part of Congress's duty.

McCain will always be a prisoner of his lack of knowlegde of today's economy.

He's worse than Bush in that respect, and American society will end up in the gutter should be become President.

Yup the majority of Americans don't own stock. In fact no one I know owns stock. So the majority of Americans, including small town America, will not be affected by the capital gains tax.

Anyway if you are a Christian making money off the capital gains is usury and is considered a sin.

Obama's "Senator McCain, what economy are you talking about" is the SECOND funniest line of the day.

The FUNNIEST line of the day belonged to Biden: "I could walk from here to Lansing and I wouldn't run into a single person who thought our economy is doing well unless I ran into John McCain".

I love how the media is like "Obama should attack McCain" and when he does they are "like no ones talking about the issues."

The media - Obama too white, too black, too professorial, too messianic, too good a speaker, not black enough, not white enough, a muslim, a terrorist, to weak, to strong, too liberal, not liberal enough, humorless, wisecracking. Media make up your mind.

I believe John McCain just had his "Katrina Moment". After three days of non-stop news coverage about the inevitable collapse of Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch, he reiterated "...that the fundamentals of the economy are sound."
