Oh, That Joe! (No. 17 in a Series) -- First Thing We Do, Let's Retain All the Lawyers

September 23, 2008 9:33 PM

"I think we're going to be up very late counting votes," Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., told a kettle of lawyers  Tuesday night at a fundraiser for the Democratic Victory Fund in Washington, D.C. "And so, your help means a big deal. The last help we need you for, is you're the best legal minds in the country. We're going to need you going into election time, because we're going to mobilize thousands of lawyers to make sure they don't steal another election."

Standing near Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., Biden also said that if "one more national commentator talks about what a great debater I am, all Claire is gonna have to do is make sure that Sarah Palin, when she's walking on the stage, doesn't trip, and she'll win.

"One of the debates I've had and finally won within the campaign, Claire, is -- we talk about how John McCain's 'changed,'" Biden said. "He hasn't changed a bit. John McCain has not changed one single solitary bit from the day I met him 34 years ago.

"He has never, never, never, never, never, never, never shared the values set that you share," Biden said. "He's an honorable, decent man, but John McCain truly believes, truly believes that you are corporate America's problem," he said to the trial lawyers. "And thank God you are."

Biden said that he's "done more than any other senator combined" for trial lawyers.

"There are two people -- you've heard me say it before -- two groups that stand between us and the barbarians at the gate," Biden said. "It's you and organized labor. That's it. That is it. So, mark my words, mark my words, if we lose this election, you are going to continue to see a continuation of the onslaught on everything we care about. For real. For real. So, I'm not only thanking you for your help. I would think you're all absolutely brain-dead if you didn't help. And I mean it."

If Biden and Obama genuinely want to assure fairness in the upcoming election they should a.) insist on the restructuring of the staffs of virtually every newsroom in every media outlet in the U.S. to make up for their admitted liberal slant in editorial coverage; b.) insist that ALL absentee ballots, especially those cast by members of the military be counted and not conveniently "lost"; c.) condemn the lying filth being spewed by your supporters in the entertainment industry; and, d.) support legal and verified voter registration registration. When their party supports these actions, I'll listen to what they have to say. Until then.....blah...blah...blah...

Summary, Dateline Saturday 08 NOV 08,
It is now 4 days after the votes were cast, the outcome of the election is still not clear. The Obama lead ticket looks to have lost all 50 states. DNC Lawsuits have been filed on mass to prevent Secretaries of States from certifying the election results.
Like Florida 2000 times fifty.
The DNC can not accept that the wide sweeping total defeat was anything less than a collection of criminal acts. The top of the ticket race as well as the down ballot race outcomes have left us here at Mainstream Media Inc in a state of confounded disbelief. The Libertarian Party looks to replace 45 Democrats in the next US Congress. The Republicans have won veto proof majorities in both the US House and Senate. We at Mainstream Media Inc find this to be a sad news day.
FACT or Fiction, tune in Saturday night and find out for your self

When Biden misspeaks it underscores that he doesn't have an organized, consistent, and rational thought process.

Why do you think that Biden complementing trial lawyers is some kind of a gaffe?

I don't get this...

When our company was being harassed by some local government officials in a false property dispute a few years ago, our lawyers were able to save our company! If it wasn't for them 75 people would have lost their jobs, including me!!!

Next time you get into an accident, you are injured and the big insurance companies try to screw you, tell me, who are you going to call?

Being a lawyer in most cases is a noble profession and without them in a nation of complex laws, we would all be screwed!!!

Good grief. This is rich. They are already starting in with the election was stolen? So what do they know that none of the rest of us don't know?

And has anybody told McCain he has won already? Yes, Biden is funny and says what he thinks...big deal.

A first grader can tell the truth also but it doesn't make his Presidential material. That kind of thinking "don't make no kinda sense." (Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?"

Obama is a lightweight and Joe is goofy as fruitcake. Exactly WHO would be running the country? Uh oh, the inmates will be running the asylum...

Biden is an absolute EMBARASSMENT.

Obama's judgment is supposed to make up for his lack of experience.

Obama's choice of Biden shows that he lacks both.

Biden cracks me up, but seriously, dude. Are you trying to win on a platform of 'LAWYERS=AWESOME'? Do you think that's a populist platform? Huh?

Good lord. Go back to your dvd's of FDR's televised 1929 comments to the public about the stock market crash and leave politics to the grownups, kay?

There is one party with a long and demonstrable history of vote fraud and is currently involved in registering ineligible voters. It ain't the republicans. It is Biden's own party. Google ACORN and FRAUD and you will find thousands of links to current stories.

Sam Deakins got it partly right. Jesus was a community organizer. George Bush was a governor. Where's Jesus when we need him in the Temple now?

Sure Joe Biden makes Gaffes as he allows us to see who the real Joe Biden is, always has.

I enjoy his gaffes, because he doesn't have everything memorized. His isn't constrained by rote answers that the campaign has tutored him on.

Joe Biden is the real thing!

Posted by: Truth Matters | Sep 24, 2008 10:09:41 AM

point is no one cares about Biden's gaffes because we know...he gets it.

He knows the factors involved backwards and forwards.

McCain acts like he does and then makes aggressive impulsive statements that are 2 out of 3 times wrong...ugh.

and Palin...well we can't even start on that 30 second cliff notes wannabe ...

when she said she was a pitbull with lipstick ...was she talking about their logic?

Posted by: dl (the real one) | Sep 24, 2008 8:54:23 AM

I love this guy

and America may be looking at the new little bobble and saying "Palin so fresh and exciting...miserably ill equipped but she's so pretty and young and tenacious... let's give her one hoot"

Biden is the guy America trusts...gaffes and all.

You see a gaffe means something when you don't know where the person's heart is.

America knows where Biden's heart is.

Drudge and Breitbart have also been pounding away all at Biden's gaffes too. If the media just turns this race between Obama vs McCain into Biden's gaffes then they may swing the election McCains way by the narrowest of margins. Somewhere Schmit's war room is gloating today. We hope the media will help keep the focus on the presidential race on Obama vs McCain and the contrast between both parties. There isn't much time left in this race.

Thoughts on Palin – we don't know her and really won't because they are keeping her away from the press. Does the UN meeting really count as foreign experience when the press isn't there to cover what is being said? What do the majority of world leaders think of her foreign experience? Perhaps this would help the voters.

So Obama thinks McCain is losing his bearings?

McCain gives sharper answers than Biden or Obama. Biden is the one showing signs of "lost bearings".

Maybe BO needs to keep Biden away from the press too--it's working for Palin.

Posted by: harry | Sep 24, 2008 8:36:04 AM

And people are worried about Palin being a heartbeat from the presidency?

Biden may have tons of experience but severely lacking in judgement and discipline.

Palin will grow, learn and get stronger and stronger--and Biden?

Posted by: riley | Sep 24, 2008 8:33:15 AM

"Biden said that he's "done more than any other senator combined" for trial lawyers."

Reason #2 that I will NEVER support Joe Biden...

Posted by: Brad | Sep 24, 2008 8:30:46 AM

To paraphrase MrsDi....'Everything reported as a gaffe by Biden seems to me the evidence that he is not honest and irrational.' Makes sense to me.

I think since the media can't interview Palin and McCain and the easier news is Sen. Joe Biden and his gaffes. Biden doesn't help because hes speaking before he thinks.

Palin should get equal time don't you think Jake? If you are going to continue to run Joe's gaffes right through Nov 4th why not run Sarah's as well? Your rating will hit the roof.

Joe Biden,
Didn't the 'the best legal minds in the country' get OJ acquitted? I rest my case.
