Palin on Whether She Ever Tried to Ban Books: 'It's an Old Wives' Tale'
September 12, 2008 7:04 PM
In the remaining part of Charlie Gibson's interview with Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to air later tonight on "20/20," she denies ever having tried to ban a book while mayor of Wasilla.
"It's an old wives' tale," Palin says.
Someone cue up the Umbrage Police -- Palin just insulted old wives.
Does she think old wives are stupid? Does she think they're liars?!

Sarah fires her enemies too.
Bill Clinton was a successful president; Sarah will be a successful VP.

Trying to look smart, she jumped "...from the frying pan into the fier."
It took her just ten days to start bare her true colors.

Judgment is one of the most imoportant qualities in a President. Clearly, Obama has TERRIBLE judgment. You are who you hang with. Rezko, Rev. Wright, Farrakahns, Ayers...these friendships and associations are enough for me. Obama has a very LONG history of befriending BAD people. That's NOT the kind of person who should be leading our country.

I'm glad a FEW of the commentators have facts about Alaska politics and are not getting their info off of far left websites. Not everything on these websites are true remember. If the truth is really what you are seeking. Smear sites are just that. Smear sites. Because Palin doesn't share your world view you are out to get her. Whatever happened to respectful disagreement. Remember we ALL want what is best for this country whether Republican or Democrat. Don't we? Or maybe it's more important to put out nasty unsubstantiated smears.

Yes, Sarah Palin was trying to attempt ban on some books. But there was an outcry from the community. Palin was facing recall problems. Palin backed off. Palin was out to get librarian for sure!!
Librarian only spoke to news reporter once claiming yes Palin had pushed for banning books. Palin does get personal with her vendettas.
Her whole history in politics is quite questionable when it comes to her revealed style.
And she is quite alarming!! And I am a woman!!

Sarah Palin throughout her whole political career has discharged people for personal reasons. Go check! I will say she is smart, but she is a scary woman to be so close to being President of the United States. I have researched extensively, and found alarming evidence of personal vendettas to fire people. I see she rules in secrecy. Mayors are upset with her across the state. Claims of being least accessible governor ever. Calls never returned. Emails never eturned.
Then found out about the investigation. MY BIG ALARM-I am particularly concerned about the legislative investigation against her as governor presently going on.
I find most of news media is not even covering. This media avoidance is questionable??? Americans have a right to know. I see Sarah Palin was going to be open, then damaging evidence surfaced, she was selected Vice President, then top lawyers went up there and all out attempts for cover -up. Sarah Palin's husband is to be forced to be interviewed. vlen other people too.
Republicans and Democrats we all need to know!!

To be frank with everyone, i will rather have Obama as the president of America than wish McCain to be there for the simple reason that it will not take long under his administration to have a nuclear war standoff with Russia, China or North Korea. We have had enough of a heated global politics and all we need to be discussing now should be diplomacy which is the foundation for Americas greatness. Stupid electorates keep worrying yourselves over lipstick and the pitbull

Palin's behavior of insulting her own neighbors, and the people she served as mayor, seems to be a pattern. The stories are coming out in the mainstream media today (i.e. The NY Times), and this "old wives" insult to the two women acting as whistleblowers seems to be a part of that pattern.

One thing wrong...the Republicans had control of both Houses of Congress for President Clintons last 6 years.
104th Congress: House (Rep 230-Dem 204-Other 1); Senate (Rep 52-Dem 48)

Bryan asks:
>> How was it the Presidents fault that the banks made stupid loans to people who could not afford a $300,000 home while making $20,000 a year? How is it the Presidents fault that oil went to $140 + a barrel? Not all, but much of what is wrong with the economy now is the high price of fuel. Job loss included. I may be wrong… But I believe, if they lifted the ban on drilling (without ever drilling a single well, oil prices would plummet. Congress also needs to look into why oil has gone down 40% recently, but fuel prices have barely dropped.
I’m also appalled at how the Dems, Hillary, & Charlie claim that while “Bill” was president he created 20 + million jobs. The “Bill” who was more responsible for those job creations was Bill Gates, NOT Bill Clinton. It was the technology boom ( personal computers & internet) that created the majority of those jobs.<<
Well, it is the executive's job to regulate the banking industry—he appoints the Treasury Secretary, the head of Fed, sets economic policy.
Same thing with energy. The Bush Administration's policy appears to have been "whatever you want, Big Oil," so it's no wonder prices have skyrocketed. And yes, oil prices have dropped—even with offshore oil production severely cut by Hurricanes Gustav and Ira. So how allowing new drilling (which will not put any new oil in the pipelines for a decade) help now?...And if the price at the pump hasn't fallen proportionately, blame the oil companies, not Congress.
And yes, the tech boom did help increase jobs, but a good deal of the credit has to go to Clinton and the Dems—they did an exemplary job of managing the tech sector, making sure the atmosphere was right for innovation and new businesses to flourish.

Is the "Bush Doctrine" anything like the Monroe Doctrine, and is it taught in schools as such, or is it merely a figment of the media's imagination, as formulated by Mr. Gibson? Frankly, I don't think President George W.Bush is organized enough to even have put a "Doctrine" together, but if he has, could someone kindly post its points in numerical order? Thanks.

According to a Wasilla City Council member who was present (Anne Kilkenny, vd online) Ms Palin raised the subject at a meeting, asking how a person might go about banning a book. The librarian told her only the directing librarian had discretion to select books and that no public official had such authority. Ms Palin then raised the ante by asking how the library would react if citizens organized a protest against a book being in the library. So the subject of book-banning was in her mind and, given the extreme right-wingedness of Palin's other social views, frankly I don't find it surprising that she had book-banning thoughts in her head. After that something happened, because she fired the librarian (as well as the Chief of Police). The librarian was reinstated after the community rallied on her behalf. The Chief of Police sued Palin for breach of contract. Kilkenney says that as a result of all this fuss, GOP higher-ups advised Palin to hire a city manager (for a town of 7000!) to handle day-to-day administration and keep her name out of trouble (suggesting that they were already grooming her for higher things).

As an independent voter… I vote for some Democrats and some Republicans. I try to choose who I think will be the best person for the job and country. I must admit I was glad to see Obama beat Hillary, because she scares the hell out of me. But the more I learn (the unknowns, the personal ties), the more it scares me that it could be disastrous for the country.
There are so many posts in this column and what was said in “the interview”, that “makes my blood boil”. Some people really don’t have a clue. I’m not going to call them dumb or stupid like some of the other comments.
I’m very surprised the Republicans have not jumped all over the fact that so many of the problems with what is going on right now started when the Democrats got control of Congress and the Senate. They blame the president! The “Bill” who was more responsible for those job creations was Bill Gates, NOT Bill Clinton. It was the technology boom ( personal computers & internet) that created the majority of those jobs. The President got lucky that it happened during his watch. Hell, Al Gore was more responsible for those jobs than Clinton… Remember, he invented the internet!
Like one poster stated… Pick the lesser of the 2 evils. It really is a “crap shoot”. But I do know, at least with a Republican President, the Democratic Congress & Senate (which so many people must not understand, has more power than the president on many issues & policies) will have less chance of passing “bad for the country” laws, changes, and entitlements.

"What irks me more that anything else is Obama's rabid supporters. I was very impressed with his speech in 2004, although at this point I can't vote for him because of his past associations. McCain is not perfect, but he is not as bad as they are attempting to portray him to be. Bottom line is that the more the far left attacks McCain and Palin, the more I gravitate towards them. I'll vote Republican for the first time at the top of the ticket and vote Dem on down. I don't have a problem with a Repub President and a democratically controlled Congress. That will force them to all work together."
Mack:
Please help me understand Sen. Obama past associations? Then help me understand Sen. McCain past associations?
I can't believe you are even bothered by the supporters for Sen. Obama apparently those supporters want change and believe that he can change things. Neither Senators McCain or Obama past is squeaky clean and yes, they have each asked for "earmarks" among other things, but when the curtains are down and the lights are off they are two individuals that have made some mistakes with how they help govern this country. However, Sen. McCain has been in the Senate a heck of a lot longer than Sen. Obama and the question again becomes what has he changed/reformed?
Here is what bothers me: at the republican convention Sen. McCain said well yeah we screwed you and told you that we were going to change Washington these last 8 years but voting for George Bush, but if you vote for me I promise to clean up Washington and help the lobbyist with their agenda...so vote for me and watch me screw you over once again for another 4 years... I know he didn't say this directly but that is certainly what I and millions of others got out of his speech. Only this time he is making it known that Roe v. Wade is something that he wants to change and perhaps that will be the only change in Washington. One thing I do know is that I am not willing to vote for someone like that. For us in Ohio...our rights is a big part of the voting especially for the women.
The democrats have been in charge of congress for the past two years... They have not worked together on anything.

UNBELIEVABLE! !! Now she is putting down “old wives” for making the comment “that’s an old wives tale” Give me a break! Hasn’t anyone ever heard that expression before? I wasn’t aware that it was meant to mean they were stupid. It amazes me how things people say can be so twisted around to meet their agenda. She should have said the more “politically correct” … “urban legend” I guess.
Another example of twisting facts and figures to meet their agenda is the federal money given to the states. Call it what you want (earmarks – federal assistance, etc.). I don’t know the amounts but I would bet Illinois got much more money than Alaska, but they use the per person amount to make it look better for their side. And last time I looked… Alaska is a much bigger state. Why don’t they use how much per square mile they got compared to Illinois? I would think making improvements to the infrastructure is much more costly way up there also. Every single state in this union relies heavily on federal money for infrastructure improvements. I come from the state of Nevada… Home of the “Great Harry Reid”. Why don’t they compare the federal dollars received to Nevada, or look into the Interchange built in the middle of nowhere where one of his “buddies” owns land (that good ole’ Harry used to own). Nobody can argue (intelligently)… that something needs to be done with the “earmarks & pork barrel spending”. It is a huge problem with congress & the senate.

Greg:
I didn't miss anything of which Gov. Palin said. While she might have used those terms with the Gibson interview she has openly share her thoughs and opinions about this subject a lot. Perhaps you don't understand because you are a man and you don't have to bare the thought of someone regardless of whether they are the president/VP/federal/state or local government tellying you what to do with your body. Women have fought long and hard in this country for our rights and I certainly don't want anyone telling me what I can do with my body.
BTW, Gov. Palin is running for VP and therefore she will clean up whatever comments and or opinions about this particular subject to get the votes! She is no different than either of the top tickets.
And on that note, I will agree to disagree with you, because I don't like getting into heated unnecessary debates about "what I should do with my body."

Anyone who knows anything about PUBLIC libraries knows that they are quite often targets for extreme elements ON BOTH SIDES, wanting to ban or add controversial books, which makes life very difficult for the librarians, and ultimately for the chief public officials who are responsible for oversight. Years ago, when I was interviewed for a local public library "paraprofessional" position (because I did not have an MLS degree), the two interviews I had were centered around how I would respond when confronted by an angry patron demanding that a certain book be removed from the library. As I did not get the job, I guess my answer, which I thought was very reasonable, was not good enough for the Head Librarian, who, of course, would have had her job on the line if such a situation blew up and became the focus of a very public First Amendment issue.
A second issue arose in the Medical Library School Library where I was employed, when it was brought to the Head Librarian's attention that one of the best anatomy books in our collection had been authored by a Nazi doctor, and contained pictures of what most likely were victims of the Holocaust and/or medical experiments. After much "soul-searching" and debate, which included proposing the "banning" of the book from the collection, it was finally decided to place the book in the Reserve Collection and to have a special explanatory and commemorative book plate, which with all due modesty was my suggestion, placed inside the front cover. This was done because of the very high MEDICAL value of the material, which was obtained by the very worst of means, a great conflict indeed. Had this issue become PUBLIC knowledge, it could have gotten out of hand, as the school is part of our state university system, which would have involved the state, rather than just the local government.
Lastly, only a little over a year ago, our tiny local town, which is in a very liberal state, was involved in a test case of the Patriot Act requirement that mandated the release of certain library patrons' "reading records" on the demand of the US Government. Four librarians were involved, one of whom was our town's Head Librarian, and the battle was joined. Well, the librarians' defense of the right to privacy prevailed and our Librarian became an instant local "hero", who still holds his job.
What does all this mean? Well, first that the First Amendment is an especially important barrier against tyranny. Second, that librarians have taken a very firm stand on defending it, to the extent of risking their jobs, future employment, and their professional reputations.
With regard to the brouhaha over then Mayor Palin's HYPOTHETICAL question to the town librarian, in view of her ultimate responsibility as mayor, it is, in my view, a "manufactured" issue, but that in actuality the question itself is something that any responsible mayor should ask of their chief subordinates, especially since they, themselves, might have to defend their decisions in a very public battle. Also, from the description of the alleged "hit list" of books that Mayor Palin supposedly wanted banned, at least four of them, from the "Harry Potter" series, had not even been published at the time this incident occurred. Thus it would appear, to take a lead from Senator Obama, that something stinks.
Oh, and lest someone accuse me of being a reactionary Republican, or flaming Conservative, please note that I am not. In reality, I am an Independent, who could not vote for Senator Hillary Clinton because of state law, who WILL NOT vote for Senator Obama, and who is considering voting for the Republican ticket, although I feel somewhat anxious about that decision. However, I have to say that I am very impressed with Governor Palin and have no doubt that she could set aside some of her PERSONAL views for the good of the country. Despite her "lack of experience", I have no doubts about her ability to serve this country as President, should the need arise. Besides, a Republican administration vs. a Democratic Congress should prove to be self-regulating. I would really fear a Democratic administration, even had Senator Clinton been the nominee, with a Democratic Congress, at this point in time.

The Library director was outraged when Palin asked her more than once about how to go about banning books.
The letter, signed by Palin, terminating the librarian was printed in the Anchorage newspaper. There was a massive public outcry and Palin buckled to the public pressure and reinstated the Librarian.
The townspeople say Palin did not make life easy for the Librarian after that.
She has since transferred to another town and and prefers not to discuss, what she says what a very unpleasant period in her life.
Posted by: Truth Matters | Sep 13, 2008 9:59:07 AM
There were witnesses to Palin's asking the town librarian what her response would be if she were asked to remove objectionable books. Perhaps Gibson should have worded the question differently. Instead of asking if she ever tried to ban books, he should have questioned her as to whether she asked the librarian about removing books from the library's collection. Just the very fact that she asked such a thing should cause concern among Americans who value their rights and abhor someone censoring what books we chose to read.
As per an ABC's Brian Ross investigative piece aired on GMA, a local church at this time was looking into getting books on gay topics taken out of the library and local retailer(s).

Is that why he suggested the UN Security Council meet to consider Russia's actions when it invaded Georgia? Obama seemed not to know that Russia is a permanent member of the Security Council and would/could veto any action.
I bet even Palin knew that.

Gregg - what's the difference between the federal government deciding what rights women have over their bodies or the state government? It's still a government lording it over women and telling them they have no rights. It's NOBODY'S business but the woman's. There's that old saying - if men got pregnant, legal abortions would not be questioned. This issue has turned me into a one-issue voter. I will not vote for anyone who demeans women's rights in such a manner as to tell them their bodies do not belong to them.

Gregg...let the states decide is what McCain says every time he's asked a controversial question. It's the McCain campaign cop out tactic. Don't be fooled. The Republican party agenda is to reverse Roe v. Wade. McCain said it himself on "The View" yesterday. There is no question that if Sarah Palin became President she would appoint conservative judges to the Supreme Court with the intent to overturn Roe v. Wade. Do not be naive.
Posted by: Marion | Sep 13, 2008 6:53:53 AM
Tracy and others, for the Roe vs Wade comment. You say "what gives the pres/vp the right to decide what a woman does with her body". I think you missed what Palin said. First off, she did say it was her opinion, which we are all entitled to. Secondly, she did say that "the STATES should decide, not the governent". BIG line there. Maybe some should read that old document called the Constitution. The fed needs to let the States decide what is best. You know, that democracy thing and what the MAJORITY wants, not what might offend the minority.
Posted by: Gregg | Sep 13, 2008 6:42:05 AM
Thank you Charlie Gibson. I believe your "liberally slanted" questions to Governor Palin will only serve to bring McCain/Palin more votes. I would like to see you ask Senator Obama some questions about Russia, Georgia and other important issues. Instead, you focus on the woman running for vice-president instead of the men running for president. Many of the questions you asked were sexiest and I wish Sarah could have responded accordingly, but then of course, the media would crucify her for "being defensive" or "over-reacting". Please spend equal time in the future asking Senator Biden if he can look the country in the eye and truthfully say he is proud of his "pork barrel" agenda during his service in our government. Ask him... it's only fair.

Sarah Palin's run-on non-sensical sentences were an embarrassment to anyone who made it past junior high. She also has a little trouble with vocabulary. How does one find "efficiencies" in a public agency. Also, do we truly want another President who says "nucular"? If you want to call that "plain" speech then you deserve the disaster that would be-fall this country with McCain/Palin in office. Or should I dumb things down a little more for you...

I'll vote Republican for the first time at the top of the ticket and vote Dem on down. I don't have a problem with a Repub President and a democratically controlled Congress. That will force them to all work together.

Mack:
All politicans run on someone else platform. Is it the right thing to do? No! Change is what this country regardless of who ends up in the white house.
What platform is McCain running on? First experience and now it's change to reform Washington. How long was McCain in Washington? What did he reform? He took on his party and what were the results? He voted with Bush and what were the results? He wants to overturn Roe v Wade by nominating Justices that will do just that and what will be the results?
All I am saying is if you are going to speak negatively of one candidate do the same for the other. The presidency has always been about the "lesser of two evils" and it always will be.

Sounds like a test: "Can you look the nation right in the camera and tell a lie". She passed.

The media made this about race a long time ago. Not me! I simply made a statement that I feel is true. I am an independent and I am not voting for neither party! You don't have to trust Sen. Obama just like some don't trust Sen. McCain but guess what, that's how you feel and no one can change.
I read so many blogs and people get down right offensive and defensive when talking about both the Senators. I believe that both Senators have lied to the public on so many occassions. I think they both skip around direct questions ALL THE TIME. Both will say whatever needs to be said to get elected, but I believe that one will lead this country in a different direction than the other. 4000 troops came home in a body bag to their families because Bush sent them over there looking for Bin Laden, and then there was the weapons of mass destruction that didn't exist of which Collin Powell had to admit, now how did they come up with Suddam is beyond me because I thought they were looking for Bin Laden. Where is Bin Laden at now? This war alone was done under false pretense and most Americans know this. BTW, I am a veteran myself and fought in the first war with George bush back in the 90's.
But all this doesn't mean that people should not be respected for how they feel about someone when blogging about these news stories. There are more important issues at hand than who likes whom.

"I would hope that most don't see him as a black man and would see him as one that really want to change this country."
Do you realize that he is running on the exact same platform as Deval Patrick? It's a marketing slogan. That is all it is. If he was going to change Washington, why did he not start with the cesspool in Chicago? He didn't do anything to change the way things are done in that corrupt city.

One two more comments, Obama is running for President and not VP. America need to look at the top of the ticket when they are talking about Sen. Obama v Sen. McCain. This is not the Obama v Palin show, it is the Obama v McCain show!!!
BTW, if McCain becomes the president and God forbid something happens to him, I believe that Gov. Palin would be able to run this country despite the fact that she has children. I do think it's sexiest when someone says can she be a mother and president. I am a mother, wife, full time worker and full time graduate student and I find it appalling that one would even ask such a question. Women have been working and taking care of their family for years and this should not be a question from anyone, media and public alike...

"Why don't folks just simply say that because he is black and no one want to put a black man in charge of the country."
Why the obsession with race? It's so selfish to believe that everything is about race. Is there anything else that you can identify with besides race? Can it be that people just don't trust him because of past associations and lack of experience.

Jake, this ‘denial’ is known as a non-denial: saying that it's an "old wives' tale" does not mean it's not true.
The librarian had been twice approached by SP about the possibility of banning books. The librarian had to stop her, that's why she's now able to say she didn't ban any books.
She wanted to do it. That's clear enough. And it says a lot about Sarah Palin.
It's the same as with the Bridge to Nowhere. Even in the press release announcing that the Bridge would not be built, she whined that the project had suffered from "inaccurate portrayals" in the (national) media.

"while 83 percent of Democrats prefer the Illinois senator."
And that doesn't include the people that left the party in disgust after he was selected.

all of you should be proud to have the right to free speech. Are you correct in your statements. Not so much but that is my opinion and you are entitled to yours. It amazes me that everyone has McCain with one foot in the grave. He is the one running against Obama not the VP. You people are truely sad. Once again my opinion given to me and also you by our forefathers.

Ok Jake I see that you have a little humor, I didn't think you had it in you. :)

'She is just the kind of Pitbull that will eat your lunch if given half a chance. I watched Obama stumble for words and fill the ackward silence with "and" and "ummm" as he was interviewed by O'Reilly and especially when he tried to address the reporters as he left the studio following that interview. Do your research and you will find that if you take away his teleprompter really struggles with what to say. Do we want that in our President? Comapre Obama's ability to think on his feet to McCain and McCain wins hands down.
Sarah Palin on the other hand. She has tne mental capacity to be able to speak fluently, in entire sentences and communicate her thoughts in an easy to understand organized fashion even without a script"

Mila, Agreed. But do you have ANY example where she banned any book or recommended any type of book be banned? I haven't seen any.

Debra,
What sane woman in pre-term labor gets on a plane and flies home?
I've had three preemies. That is not a judgment call I would have made, nor is it one that the March of Dimes, American Academy of Pediatrics, nor the American Medical Association would have supported.
If life truly begins as conception, than Governor Palin should have been charged with child endangerment, for her actions certainly fit the bill!

Miki...at 10:10..Gov. Palin had to give a scheduled speech and Trig was born FIVE WEEKS EARLY. Hope that answers your question. That's quite a long ways off and was OK'd by her doctor to fly.

Banning books a non-story? Those of us her in the United States who don't want our reading material to be censored by Big Brother/Sister think it's a really IMPORTANT story. The free expression of thoughts and ideas is one of the things that makes this country great, and one of those freedoms that service men and women are fighting for.

I am an old wife and I am appalled at how the liberal media is not challenging Mrs. Pallin about her demeaning use of this term!
As an old wife, I have carried many tales that were true...trying to paint me with that same old sexist brush will not work.
Shame on you, Sarah Palin! Shame on you!

I don't think they asked enough tough questions. Like why that gas pipeline she's so proud of was given to a Canadian company. We need jobs here in America! Yeah, Sarah, the America you get all your pork from. The America that gives your state over $13,000.00 per person in Federal monies. (That's not including the over $3000.00 per person oil bonus you all are getting this year) Yet you only pay out approximately $4500.00 in taxes per person. I'm not worried about your crustaceans mating, Sarah. I'm worried how I'm going to heat my house this winter. As are many other Americans. Talk about out of touch!

Wow, some of you people are extremely sheltered! I am specifically referring to those who think "old wives tale" is somehow sexist. For those of you that are unable to validate your assumptions prior to posting, according to the dictionary (use any you want, I typically use thefreedictionary.com) it means: "A superstitious belief or story belonging to traditional folklore.". It has nothing to do with old women. This is tantamount to republicans hyping Obama's "lipstick on a pig" statement. In the context of what he was saying, it was quite apparent he was not referring to Sarah Palin. Just like her remark was not sexist.
From all the reading I've done of all the comments, blogs, and forums from every major media outlet... I feel certain in saying we will know who the wrong candidate for the country is once he is elected. Yes, I am saying whoever is elected, be it McCain or Obama, will be the wrong choice. It will be true because the collective mob will be voting. They won't be voting based off personal fact finding and policy positions (or shifting positions on the part of both candidates), but based off of last night's sensationalist rhetoric.
I am wholly disappointed in all of the news outlets. They've traded facts for conjecture, and truth for ratings.

Wow!! You libs and the bs media are so scared of this woman. You should be!! Obama is not on top anymore...............cry me a river.
You can bash Palin & McCain all you want..keep it coming..Love it!!

Why would anyone inquire about how to ban books if they didn't intend to do so -- and then fire the librarian who disagreed with book banning?
I'm one old wife who is offended that an unqualified liar is on the GOP ticket.

What a disappointment... You would think Charlie Gibson with his years of experience would at least have someone do a some research and qualify the facts before taking on Sarah Palin. Especially after seeing how effectively she handles herself under pressure. She is just the kind of Pitbull that will eat your lunch if given half a chance. Sarah Palin on the other hand. She has tne mental capacity to be able to speak fluently, in entire sentences and communicate her thoughts in an easy to understand organized fashion even without a script.
These are just my thoughts, but what worries me is what will the leaders of foreign countries think when Obama speaks before he thinks and makes disrespectful comments about their religion, guns or small towns. Sure there are big issues like healthcare, the war in Iraq, Taxes etc, but fundamentally Obama doesn't seem to posess true leadership ability.

Palin got >80% approval rate, yet the repoters are so cruel to put dirt on her.
What if any gov. who got lower approval rate? Will their records will be worse?
That means, any gov. is worse than Obama?
Obama is our messiah???
We should all request ABC to do the same interview with Obama, examine all his records, his friends, his family tree, his house, his wife's Ph.D thesis.

I think that lady tries to revenge on Palin, so she brought up that story then she said she didn't recall Palin asked to ban any specific books.
