Palin's Private E-mails Hacked, McCain Campaign Shocked
September 17, 2008 6:13 PM
As Gawker reports, the private yahoo e-mails accounts of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin have been hacked.
“This is a shocking invasion of the governor’s privacy and a violation of the law,” said McCain campaign manager Rick Davis in a statement. "The matter has been turned over to the appropriate authorities and we hope that anyone in possession of these e-mails will destroy them. We will have no further comment."
As we covered yesterday, Palin has used her private e-mail account to conduct official business and, like members of the Bush administration before her, has attempted to use this as a way to avoid the very transparency she pledged would mark her gubernatorial term.

The emails clearly show she was using her personal email account for government business. This is the same thing the Bush administration does to prevent accountability... just another crooked republican.

Hey Democrats, if the hackers were only interested in shedding some light on government business, why did they publish PERSONAL emails?
If they had published an email from Palin about - say - the state budget, then you might have some moral ground to stand on. Not much, but a smidge.
The hackers had one goal - smear Sarah Palin. Palin bloodied Obama's nose in her speech at the convention, and they are going to do everything they can to make her pay.
This not just about Sarah Palin; this is an effort to teach ANYONE who dares criticize Obama a lesson.

No, typical Democrats. They violated federal law by illegally hacking personal email accounts and distributing PERSONAL information (no government business was found), then justify it because it was done in furtherance of their socialist agenda.
Democrats disgust me.

Really, Jake? Palin used her private email to conduct gubernatorial business? I know she was accused of doing government business with her private email as a mayor, but as governor? And if you read the account of the guy who actually hacked Palin's email, he said he found nothing there besides pretty much personal stuff. So much for the excuses extended towards the hacker.
I hope the FBI gets him anyway.

WHY WON'T SARAH PALIN ANSWER QUESTIONS ABOUT TROOPERGATE?
WHAT IS SHE HIDING?
WHY IS SHE LYING?

Wow. The lead investigator promised a fair and impartial investigation and was given the job even though he is a proclaimed Obama supporter.
Unfortunately he told ABC news before he heard any evidence that his investigation will be an "October surprise" that will throw the election to Obama.
Why cooperate with a person who has already made up his mind?
Meanwhile there is evidence of a large number of valid reasons why this guy should have been fired. Partisans are saying "We can read your mind and THIS is the REAL reason you fired him even though there are four other possible reasons."
Dems, are you mind readers as well?

Looks liek the right is at it again, trying to distract everyone from the story. You can tell its going on with the sheer volume of fake "outraged" posters in this forum. I'm betting 90% of them are McCain media operatives and die hard partisans who will say any lie just to get their guy elected. HOW UNAMERICAN OF YOU!

The e-mails I'd like to see our those of the senior staffers of our primary media outlets. It's obvious where they stand and whose pockets they want to line. And actually they can thank themselves for my decision to vote McCain. I wasn't even planning on voting! The change we need starts with ABC, CBS, NBC and the other sources of news they have too much control of the process. They are hurting Obama and aren't getting it at all. Quit taking sides and report the news all of it including the good stuff for once!

wow. What a neocon love fest of hate and paranoia! Obama did it? pleeeeeeeeeeease. Next thing you'll try and blame him for is the failures in the financial industry. Wait a minute, they did that on Fox News this mroning! You know its funny how the Right blatantly lies, then when the press call them on it they cry "Liberal Media Bias!" and the press lets them off out of fear of nutbags like the posters in this forum.
At least we know it wasn't McCain, he can't even use a computer!

As a mother of 6 chilsren and 12 grand children, I am sick and tired of the news media bashing Saral Palin for one reason or the other. Don't you people get it. America loves what she stands for. You can bash McCain and Palin all you want, but when the smoke clears and people go into the voting booth they will vote on the issues that will effect them and their family. Right now, I feel Obama is running scared and using any tactic that he can to discredit his running mates. The sad thing is at the end of the day when we lay down at night, who do we really have to answer to for all the smear tactics, all the negetive adds, and all the men and women out there that are doing things that they know are not right. You guessed it. GOD. IF everyone proclaims to be a christian why don't they act like it. I really am upset with the media and this election. How the bigger networks let their people promote their own agenda. Where are the reporters that JUST report the news????????

McCain/Palin = LIPSTICK ON A BUSH

An Obama presidency will be the end of free speech in America. So far he has
1. Set up a website for the sole purpose of identifying criticism of his policies and "responding" to such "attacks" by smearing the critic.
2. Threatened WGN with lawsuits for running ads that attempt to get answers about association with a known terrorist (Ayers).
3. Supported other Democrats in their efforts to institute the "Fairness" Doctrine, which would take conservative talk shows and possibly Fox News off the air.
Now, Sarah Palin's email's have been hacked. For all the blather about her using the account for state business, no such emails were distributed by the hackers. Only emails about personal matters.
This is what Obama and his mindless supporters have in store for those that blaspheme the Obamessiah.
Be afraid.

This election just may turn into a civil war.

Clearly Karl Rove is behind this.
Palin dodged the law by hiding her government communications in a private email account. The emails themselves are evidence of illegal activity, regardless of the Troopergate issue.
Someone "hacks" the account and publishes only personal emails. The account is shut down and all the evidence is deleted.
*PRESTO*
NO MORE EVIDENCE.
OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.
LIPSTICK ON A BUSH.

Isn't this obvious, this is how Obama will run his government. It's ok to hack into private email accounts although it's not done by the government. Is he against that anti-terrorist privacy law? Even if he says he is, he's really NOT!!!! Why hasn't he said anything yet to reprimand these internet hackers? Is it because he AUTHORIZED it? It's ok to hack into anyone's privacy as long as it's politically advantageous for himself. It's ok to do anything immmoral as long as it gets him votes, but just tell the media to cover it up for him.
These hackers should be PROSECUTED. Is this a felony?

The original untranslated English version of John McCain's interview with Radio Caracol Miami has now been released.
When asked about Spain, McCain responded about Mexico and Latin America. McCain was unaware of our relations with Spain, or even the country's geographical and political position. When asked about meeting with Prime Minister Zapatero and the country's relationship with the U.S., McCain ignored the question and went into some boilerplate about America's friends and enemies and analyzing relations (think Palin and the Bush Doctrine). Then, he tried to transition his answer into more friendly territory, discussing President Calderon's government in Mexico. He never really addressed Spain, but pushed right into commenting about Mexico. The interviewer actually tried to redirect him several times (again, think Charlie Gibson and Palin), until she actually stated that she wasn't talking about Latin America anymore, but rather Europe. For whatever reason, McCain responded to this question by repeating what he said before about analyzing America's relationships with our friends and enemies.
This isn't funny. It's actually quite serious.

For those questioning whether Palin ws using Yahoo to do state business: don't believe all those crazy "liberals"...why not trust Palin and her advisors and cabinet teams comments? They are the ones who said they used "personal" email accounts (memo from Palin's Press Secretary to her staff to use non-government email for communication)...go to factcheck or memoryhole for the image of the memo.

If this had been Obama or Biden we would have seen flames. This was a DIRTY trick and the person responsible should be put under the jail. Someone tried to look at Obama's passport and the DEMS came unglued.
He should be running against McCain not Palin. Be glad when the mud slinging is over.

BTW earlier this year the DNC obtained and released Palin's SSN (albeit with the last 4 numbers redacted). They also obtained other personal information.
It is conceivable they could have obtained Palin's yahoo account info.
Posted by: Jay | Sep 18, 2008 11:21:28 AM
So the left using the allegation (not verified) of Palin's use of the Yahoo account for state business as a justification for hacking into her account and distributing personal emails?
I find it amazing that this was spun in such a way so soon after the hack occurred.
The only way it could have been spun so quickly is if it came from an Obama campaign talking point. And the only reason there would have been a talking point is if someone in the DNC/Obama campaign was involved in the hack or knew it was coming.
What did Barack know and when did he know it?
