Rove: Biden is a "Big, Blowhard Doofus"

September 01, 2008 3:20 PM

From Minnesota, we hear from Politicker ME that Karl Rove told the Maine Republican delegation to the GOP Convention that Sen. Barack Obama's running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., a "big, blowhard doofus."

"He's a great American," Biden responded with more than a hint of sarcasm when asked about Rove's comments on a Monday evening flight from Scranton, PA, to Wilmington, DE.

"Apparently he didn't get the memo," the Delaware senator added, referring to his belief that due to Hurricane Gustav both parties should refrain from partisan politics for the moment.

"So can we call you Senator Doofus now?", a reporter asked the veep candidate.

"You can call me anything you want," Biden responded. "I learned a long time ago you can call me anything you want."

Once Gustav has passed, the Delaware lawmaker predicted that neither campaign will have any problems getting back to business on the trail.

"I don't think people will have any trouble resuming the campaign - Karl didn't hesitate," Biden concluded.

Notified of Rove's comments earlier Monday, Biden spokesman David Wade said in a statement, "It's more than a little sad that with another hurricane heading for the Gulf Coast, Karl Rove is up to the same old attack politics that he practically patented while helping dig a deep hole for our country to get out of. Americans expect better, especially at a time like this."

Who listens to this man? He was the architect of failed policy of dividing the nation. Biden has shown incredible years of service to our country whether you agree with him or not.

The real news is Rove not responding to a subpoena, not his spouting off like a kid. He's playing for time, that's all.

Last I heard, one doesn't go to jail for being a "doofus." Ignoring a Congressional supeona and endangering the safety a CIA agent might get someone in serious trouble, though...

Biden seems to think he's still running for the presidency. Someone needs to tell him he's in the #2 slot.

If anyone would know what a "big, blowhard doofus" is, it'd be Rove since it takes one to know one.

Was Rove impersonating Biden?

Time to vote for BARR - Barr is worth a look. I have him above the two front runners, but then I have Nader above them too.

Very typical of Karl Rove. It's disappointing that Rove works as an advisor to John McCain.

American will be a kinder and better place when Karl Rove is forced to appear before legal authorities without Bush's imperial seal of protection.

As Rove would tell other Americans. "If you have nothing to hide, testify."

I don't like the politic of Rove, and I don't like the politic of Obama either, because he is using the same tactic.

The name calling is absurd, childish, and accomplishes nothing. Also both democrats and republicans need to stop taking things so personally. Jim grow up. Along with everyone else that has reduced an entire political party to a disparaging term.

Who cares what the CRIMINAL Rove says

The man is a CRIMINAl and belongs behind bars

Posted by: Time to vote for BARR | Sep 1, 2008 4:55:24 PM

Hmmmmm! If Biden can't take the heat, he should get out of the kitchen too! These guys can't take any criticism. This is the US - not Cuba! He ain't seen nothing yet!

Karl Rove - why shold anyone listen to a man that has given advice to one of the biggest jokes in presidental history - not ot mention that he was in fact participating in illegal tatics used by this administration. He and Rush Limbaugh - narcotic addict at large - two of the biggest embrassments to our civilazation!

Posted by: jozy | Sep 1, 2008 4:50:01 PM

And what did Rove say about the potential pick of Tim Kaine as Obama's VP? And what is he saying about Palin as McCain's choice?

Palin has been a Governor less time than Kaine, was a mayor of a much smaller town than Kaine and Governor is a much smaller population state than Kaine and Kaine was a bad choice for Obama, what does that make Palin? Simply risky?

Seeking attention from the awful running mate McCain was able to come up with.

Poor judgment.

Obama all the way.

"Doofus" is more than a good description of Biden. Just look at him on the campaign trail - the man truly is an embarassment.
