If Ayers were a real terrorist, then Bush would have made sure he and his family got protection as they fleed the country after 9/11 -- just like he did for his friends in the bin Laden family!

Bush and McCain see bin Laden as a family friend's rebel kid. Cronism is blinding!

Choose Obama/Biden '08 for yours and your children's safety.

Ya know, since this election is about flag pins. John McCain didnt wear his when he gave his acceptance speech. OMG- HE HATES AMERICA AND IS A TERRIOST OUT TO DESTROY OUR GREAT NATION.

REVEREND HAGEE SAID THAT KATRINA WAS THE WRATH OF GOD CAUSED BY GAYS AND LIBERALS. THEN MCCAIN ANNOUCED HE DIDNT ACCEPT THOSE VIEWS. OMG HE ACTUALLY AGREE'S AND HATES AMERICA.

MCCain made a speech in Virginia Beach that criticized Christian leaders, including Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell, as divisive conservatives, declaring "... we embrace the fine members of the religious conservative community. But that does not mean that we will pander to their self-appointed leaders. yet he is now pandering to that very audience.

Who is John McCain's pastor? I mean the only one that was put under the spotlight during this campaign was the pastor who served his country with honor in Vietnam, and then was treated as the new antichrist by the media.

Everyone get off this Obama - Ayers connection. This is ridiculous. I see many of those who posted are not aware of the real facts. I am not wasting my time anymore!!! Ayers was tried and found innocent. He went on to live life well. Has become a respected college professor specializing in education reform. Those were the days of the Anti- Vietnam War Protests. Government was labeling everyone a communist or terrorist. Group Weather Underground didn't do much except to blow themselves up in their own home. Two were pardoned by President Clinton.

All happened almost 40 years ago. Obama a child probably riding a tricycle at the time. Obama served on a Charity Board that he was on for short while.

FACT - NOTHING TO STORY.

NEWS TRIED. INVESTIGATORS TRIED. THIS IS OLD NEWS.
THIS IS JUST RIDICULOUS, AND WAS PUT OUT THERE WHEN HILARY ATTEMPTED TO WIN PENNSYLVANIA. AND SHE DID WITH HELP OF FLIERS GIVEN TO ALL WORKERS, RESIDENTS IN RURAL AREAS. I SAW THE FLIER. I SAW THE NEW REPORTS AND MULTIPLE TESTIMONY OF PEOPLE VERIFYING FLIERS SENT.

Woody,

It was the best one I could think of that took strong principles into consideration, which was to address your statement about showing unassailable principles.

Ayers did some horrible things with trying to terrorize the government into leaving Vietnam. If he had been a wanted fugitive and Obama was not turing him in, I would have a problem with the association. However, Ayers was not a fugitive. If Ayers had done the same actions in today's legal system, he would not have been let out of jail, and probably would have had a cell next to McVeigh waiting for his execution. Which I would have no problem with. I don't agree with his methods in any way, shape, or form.

Whether Ayers is repentant about what he did, I agree he could be more repentant. However, I don't agree with the generally used interpretation of his recent statement to show he is not remoseful. According to Ayers, and I have yet to see proof he meant otherwise, when he said "we should have done more", he meant over all to stop the war and not more bombings.

As far as I know, since he did his time for bombing the building and killing the police officer, he has not participated in any terroristic activities. At what point can a person try to contribute to the community and not be considered a liability to work with?

More of the Same"

McCain, supported Bush politics, 95% of the time. What make you think he has changed? He chose Sarah Palin as the possible, President of the U.S.A., was the thought behind this, Country First.
After the brain-washing she will be allowed to speak...then we will know, or will we?

However, it wouldn't surprise me, if she resigns once the election is over, if they win... What a ploy...Values and honesty and Country First, are not high in this party politics.

I forgot, Values and
Righteousness and Country First, is high priorities. But, why would he choose Sarah Palin?

Who would replace Sarah Palin, if she resigns or is booted off the ticket....I blushed, I thought it might be Chaney. Insuring that we have "MORE OF THE SAME".

Woody,

With the problems in the Chicago school system, it wouldn't necessarily have to be a far left ideology that is behind the reform. Much like the school systems in Cleveland, near where I grew up, radical changes were needed to try to salvage kids' education, regardless of party affilication or ideology.

Let's say in my example that she didn't announce the abortion. Maybe you heard it through the grapevine, or someone saw her coming out of the clinic. Would you still work to get her off the board?

(BTW, pleasure debating with you. There is not many on the board you can debate with without it becoming name calling.)

Posted by: Mack | Sep 11, 2008 3:16:29 PM

Woody,

How many were hurt in those bombings that Ayers participated in?

How many kids died when Republican Timothy McVeigh bombed the Murrah Building?

You remember Timothy McVeigh right? Who was captured, tried and executed.

How come Democrats seem to be able to catch the terrorists but Republicans can't?

IGNORE THE GREEN SARAH POLLEN!

Take a hint: Sarah Pollen is all the way in Alaska.
Leave her there with her troopergate!

John McCaint = Bush = 8 years of national and international FAILURE and bad luck for Americans!
Sarah Pollen 'SHARES THE VIEWS' of McCaint!

That should be the target.

Obama has the Intelligence, Vision & Vigor to successfully handle the numerous challenges facing America.

McCaint lacks the vigor and vision and intelligence to handle the issues.
That is why McCaint want the election to be non-issue based

Is there still a war going on?

I thought "major combat operations" in Iraq ended in 2004. I swear I heard someone say that.

Posted by: More Poor Judgement | Sep 11, 2008 2:57:16 PM

The McCain comment stems from an Oct. 31, 2005, appearance on the Charlie Rose talk show on PBS. He was asked about winning in Iraq. After discussing issues confronting that country, McCain concluded: “Afghanistan, we don’t read about anymore, because it’s succeeded. And by the way, there’s several reasons, including NATO participation and other reasons, why Afghanistan is doing as well as it is.

And why doesn't anyone in the media attack Obama about Ayers? Because they'd loose all credibility. It's a non-issue that is only propegated by weak minded Republicans.

Ayers DID NOT bomb anyone, he simply protested - which is still legal, for now at least. That may change with four more years of Republican censorship, I mean, "leadership".

Obama worked with someone who happened to belong to a political organization 40 YEARS AGO, and that organization had a small fringe element 40 years ago, and in that fringe were a few radicals who used dispicable tactics 40 years ago. The "guilty by association" arguement is SO WEAK, I'm amazed that anyone is still trying to use it. But, that's the Republican way - no substance but lots of smearing attacks.

Posted by: give it up, it's makes YOU look stupid | Sep 11, 2008 2:49:51 PM

Woody,

It would depend on what I was being asked to work with him on. How to protest a war? Definately not. How to increase the graduation rates? I would not have a problem. I would not accept an invitation to a cookout at his house, but I would work with him.

If you are a person who is absolutely against abortion no matter what the circumstances, would you refuse to work with a woman, or her husband, if she had had an abortion on something like improving the safety of pedestrians in a section of your neighborhood?

John McCain – “Experience and foresight that only comes with AGE”

"There’s not a history of clashes that are violent between Sunnis and Shiahs. So I think they can probably get along." [MSNBC, 4/23/03]

" I believe that the success will be fairly easy." [CNN, 9/24/02]

"We’re not going to get into house-to-house fighting in Baghdad. " [CNN, 9/29/02]

"But the point is that, one, we will win this conflict. We will win it easily." [MSNBC, 1/22/03]

"But I believe that the Iraqi people will greet us as liberators." [NBC, 3/20/03]

"It’s clear that the end is very much in sight." [ABC, 4/9/03]

"This is a mission accomplished.." [This Week, ABC, 12/14/03]

"I’m confident we’re on the right course." [ABC News, 3/7/04]

Can you give an estimate when can our troops come home? (Matt Lauer) “No, but that's not too important,” [ABC 6/11/08]

“There were those of us who knew along that this would be difficult” (TV interview 07/08 ...Uh, sure you did John, sure you did.)

I'M JUST GLAD SARAH PALIN HAS ALL THAT INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE KEEPING US SAFE FROM RUSSIA. I'M SURE HER JUDGEMENT IS BETTER BECAUSE OF IT.

What about the McCain/Follieri connection that is coming out in the news? Follieri, who yesterday got convicted on conspiracy, wire fraud, and money launderying, hosted a 70th birthday party for McCain on his yatch. Follieri then hired the lobbying firm created by Rick Davis, a top aid for McCain.

With the people politicians work with, many of them have associations with people with questionable pasts, or in this case present.

Aug 6th 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing on Bin Laden

"FBI information since that time indicates patterns of suspicious activity in this country consistent with preparations for hijackings or other types of attacks, including recent surveillance of federal buildings in New York"

While right wingers want to scream about who said what on 9/11.

Just remember whose gross incompetence let us get hit that day and whose gross incompetence has Bin Laden remaining a free man. That would be right wing hero, George Bush.

The Chicago machine flows through Exelon and the unions. Ayres is well connected in that regard. very well connected.

Posted by: geevill | Sep 11, 2008 2:18:42 PM

Bush slandered him back in 2004 with a horrible rumor that I wouldn't forgive Bush for."

It was horrible but it happened in 2000.

And McCain hired the guy behind that smear to work for Palin.

That's how much he hates Bush.

He hired the guy who smeared his own daughter.

Campaign first, family and country last.
