What Do Women Want? A Woman on the Ticket!

September 08, 2008 5:43 PM

A new ABC News/Washington Post poll shows Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., making up huge ground among white women since putting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the ticket.

Reports ABC News Polling Director Gary Langer: "From 50-42 percent in Obama’s favor before the conventions to 53-41 percent for McCain now, a 20-point shift that’s one of the single biggest post-convention changes in voter preferences."

Among white women, 67 percent view Palin favorably; 58 percent say her selection makes them more confident in McCain’s decision-making.

Among those with children, Palin does even better than that.

In a letter to Maria Bonaparte, Dr. Sigmund Freud wrote, "The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is 'What does a woman want?'"

Apparently, they want to be put on the ticket!

This was a great debate tonight, I want them all, but Hillary ....you would have been the best

I find it funny that Obama claims to be the candidate for change when he is nothing more than the lipstick on the same old socialist-tax-the-rich-increase-entitlements pig the democrats have been pushing since FDR instituted the Marxist Social-ist in-Security Administration.

Posted by: Max | Sep 10, 2008 1:17:29 AM

I think when the Dem's finally corner Governor Palin, they'll find out why sharks fear barracuda. And based on the sexist approach to both Hillary and Sarah, you'll see the rest of the sisterhood feeding in a frenzy on the left leaning media and the Obama campaign.

Posted by: Greg | Sep 9, 2008 6:19:49 PM

If Obama is so Honest why isn't he telling about the suit against him in Federal Court? Why did he have to slip in to See Grandma in Hawaii, no kids , awol wife. ?
And most of all he spends all his words comparing every one to Bush, or talking against Mccain/ Palin, Instead of saying what he really plans to do , and refusing to do townhalls , because he can't have his teleprompter, He doesn't have an original idea , that is why he must Have his speach writters teleprompter everywhere. Obama even Refused to do a town hall with the families & troops @ FT Hood

Obama wants to take from the rich and give to the poor, gee that gives No on any reason to progress . Why would you want to if you can do nothing and get a hand out. Democrats turned out the lights and went on vacation while we are suffering with high oil prices. We have turned out the light on electing any democrats come Nov . Gov Palin is a Real person , not rich like Obama has been since his mother was married to a rich oil exec. Gov Palin Knows and understands the needs of the middle class ( And she is Proud of this country)

I guess Rev. Jesse Jackson is right. Obama talks down to Black people, and now he's talking down to women. My wife is after me to vote for McCain now.

Posted by: Frank Woelke | Sep 9, 2008 5:02:37 PM

For once, Tapper, BINGO. :)

I'm socially liberal and will STILL be voting McCain/Palin; damn straight I want a ###### in the WH.

Posted by: thisgirl | Sep 9, 2008 5:00:23 PM

Stop being typical women, do not be fooled, please put emotions aside and like thinkers, think…
Aren’t McCain and his buds the ones afraid of higher taxes? Who do you think is going to get this increase, you? How many Americans make over $250,000 a year? There are not that many left around, since poverty is increasing everyday. It is them; the billionaires who do not think our economy is in trouble, who do not pump gas every week, who do not have to pay more for gas, milk or groceries. Those who can not even keep track of their assets, who ignorantly and who randomly picked a stranger for himself to begin with and to the world, outside of Alaska as a running mate, a mate who has no moral, experience or minimum requirements to lead one of the top jobs in America. Someone who will not be able to handle the pressure and decision making with such large family and its very peculiar challenges, someone who like in the last 8 years of our history will just confirm the embarrassment of our country in the eyes of the world, someone who can not write a speech for a nation, but a high school essay. Is that so appealing to you or what is going to get us out of this mess? I thought we all deserve better than that at least for me, Harvard and direct work community and congress experience are much more appealing, despite colors, or gender; resume speaks more than dramas. Give me a break! They need to get themselves and their families together first before trying to get this job. We need a plan and execution, ability to perform. Sorry! But memories or dramas from the 60’s will not get us out of this mess.

Not !

The Status Quo needs to be challenged. A Status Quo of another gender is still the Status Quo...

I was happy to see a woman on ticket. But I will never vote for a ticket because of this. I look at the candidates, truths, issues.

I have researched John McCain and Sarah Palin intensively. I have lots of concern. She claims she cleaned up corrupt politics!!! FBI investigation being done 2004. First FBI raids Aug, 2006. Sarah Palin ran for governor under "change" theme. Investigation was going on long before she took office in Nov, 2006. Sarah Palin did not start, do any of starting or investigate. Alaska government did not do any of investigation. FBI did. Sarah Palin - claims fame. But see she really did not do. See some legislators say - stretch of truth a long way - about this claim. Facts verify this claim is really not true. Voters just see government cleaned up. But FBI is actually doing

FACT-
ALL WERE REPUBLICANS - 11 REPUBLICAN LEGISLATORS INDICTED BY FBI TO DATE + OTHER LOBBYISTS. OIL INDUSTRY OFFICIALS

America is a disaster!! We have had Republicans in for 8 years!! Americans can't take anymore!!

I am registered Republican. I will not support anymore of their lies!!!

Posted by: Sharonklim | Sep 9, 2008 12:47:40 PM

We want equal representation in the office. Regardless of politics, a woman will understand women's issue much better than anyone.

So go Sarah go

I have even put a blog together dedicated to Sarah

It doesn’t take rocket science. It is very simple. Many women are strong, intelligent capable and still honor men and don't have to denigrate them. This is the allure of Sarah Palin to both men and women for she represents the millions of women just like her. Not all women are in the mold of Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem.

Posted by: Walsh | Sep 9, 2008 10:13:38 AM

McCain looked at what Hillary did and said to himself, "It's time for to put a woman on the ticket." Obama could have made the same decision; the best woman around was available. Obama, however, took one look at Hillary and ran as fast as he could in the other direction, straight into the arms of Joe Biden.

The Obama/Clinton ticket would have been exciting, and would now be at least 15 points ahead. Instead, Obama looks weak and indecisive, and Biden is a crashing bore.

What do women want? A leader who's secure enough in his manhood not to be intimidated by the idea of a "sweetie" on his ticket who might overshadow him.

Posted by: marylou | Sep 9, 2008 10:11:30 AM

How can Palin be for Pro Life yet be a life long member of the National Rifle Association?

How can Palin preach abstinence and be against sex education and be an advocate by experience of Teen Pregnancy and Teen Marriage?.

She confuses me and more confusing to me is: how McCain could have picked this woman to run for VP?

How can Palin deny rape victims the right to choose and on top of that charge them $300 to $1200 for a rape kit to conduct an investigation. (this is how is currently handled in Alaska)

that woman scares me.

Posted by: Ann | Sep 9, 2008 10:08:33 AM

Dear Young Women, you haven't spent enough time in white male-dominated corporate america to understand discrimination, sexism and down-right hatred to understand why women need a strong woman leader in the White House.

The DNC did exactly what they are suppose to be against, racism, discrimination and womens rights by chosing to allow Obama to ignore the best running mate to win the election.

He chose his ego over his party, and the right choice for the country. On the other hand HIllary would have chosen him b/c she is much more aware of what is at stake.

So now that Mr. Ego is losing ground don't blame anyone but him.

By the way, he made his first big executive decision by using all of his so-called "experts" by chosing Biden. That is what will sink his run for the presidency.

Donna Brazile told Gore he didn't need Bill, Donna Brazile told Obama he didn't need Hillary. Donna Brazile is wrong but all the talking heads will blame racism when this is over.

Makes me laugh. And the "left media" who didn't vet Obama, didn't ask questions about his affiliations with his church are now going to Alaska to investigate Palin's church. WHAT A JOKE!!! Who do they think they're fooling???

HILLARY 2012!!!!

I'm a Russian exile living in Boston, and I'm grateful to everything that is America.

I was not born here but I love these United States from the bottom of heart. For my job I have traveled extensively through some 25 states.

In my view and experience the current Republican administration has severely offended not only the great American Constitution, but also the heart and soul of what I see as 'America' and 'Americans'. To that extent that I will not vote Republican for many years to come, and maybe never again.

I was deeply shocked, I admit, when a majority of Americans reelected George W. Bush for President.

Now I am deeply shocked again, I'm sorry to say, about Americans being fired up by 'hockey mom' Sarah Palin.

How is this possible?

The ONLY thing Palin did so far for the Republican ticket is reading aloud a test that was fully written by one of George W. Bush's speech writers.

Is the America I came know and love so much no more? That would be, in my view, one of the saddest political developments in modern history.

The Russia of the devil and mafioso Putin would love to see a continuation of the out of touch Republican foreign policies that focus on the wrong countries, that only create new American enemies, and that in the meantime let Russia crawl into Georgia as China will do with Taiwan, Chavez with Colombia etc.

I have no doubt it: a continuation of the Bush-Cheney policies, a McCain-Palin administration would not only a disaster for the American economy and the equilibrium of this great society: it would be a disaster for peace, justice and democracy in the world.

Dear Americans, I love you all, but please think twice before supporting another four years of GOP power, the GOP that brought this country a debt of trillions of dollars, a collapsing economy, more than 4000 unnecessary deaths of our young brave people in Iraq, torture, and a very and very troublesome low standing and popularity in the world.

America, please SHINE again, and serve as an example to ordinary Russians and other people who seek democracy and justice in an often cruel and dangerous world.

Cool: Yes, we need a woman in the white house and Palin is the one. A woman that can hold her own and pulls no punches. Hillary was too soft against Obama and he took advantage of that. Palin would really sock it to him. She is a fighter and that's what the white house needs. Obama is a dud and Biden has a big mouth. Neither one of them should be in the white house. Both of them are a big joke.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | Sep 9, 2008 6:53:11 AM

Obama only sat down and had coffee with world leader's nothing else. He doesn't know foreign policy and furthermore he doesn't know that much about politics. For graduating from Harvard he came out knowing nothing but crooks. He missed the senate 130 times said he was against the war but wasn't in the senate when the voting began. He chose the wrong candidate for VP and now he is going downhill. He is not a christian and never will be. He was a racist for years that's why he attended that church. If elected we will need god's help.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | Sep 9, 2008 6:48:56 AM

Samatha: I'm with you. I am a democrat voting for McCain. And Hillary campaigning for Obama will not make a difference in the polls. Palin is too popular and an outsider to Washington. Obama is all talk with his sincere lies as one newman said. Obama talks about change. Obama got the words change and hope from RFK's speech when he was campaigning and Bill Clinton used the word change. Anyone can use that word it doesn't belong to Obama. He uses other's speeches and the public was eating his words up but the tide has now changed and he is not the celebrity anymore Palin is. I hope McCain wins the election. Its time for Hillary's voters to wake up and vote McCain.

Posted by: Mariann Pepitone | Sep 9, 2008 6:44:32 AM

AllWeWantIsTheTruth: You don't need to know all Palin's business. Do you tall all your business. She is the candidate and that's all you need to know. She has a husband and five children and is a governor. Obama should have cleaned out his house years ago and his associates like Rezko and Ayers. Plus he should have left that racist church like Oprah did.

Neville,

2008: DEMS chose the wrong person as their nominee. The nominee chose the wrong person as VP

What the DNC will claim:

We lost this election due to America's rampant threads of racism and the Republican's exploitation of women.

The Truth:

The DNC is racist and sexist and has become the very thing it used to hate. The DNC has taken a socialist exclusionary stance.

New DNC Slogan:

You can count on us... To lose

Posted by: Samantha | Sep 9, 2008 6:14:10 AM

Irony...

Dems lost to Bush in 2000
Dems lost to Bush in 2004
Dems lose to Bush in 2008 (attempting to turn McCain into Bush)

Excuses by Dems....

2000 it was hanging chads in Florida
2004 it was voting machines in Ohio
2008 it will be rascism in the USA.

Get the crying towel ready.

AJ,

"Women have wanted a women in the White House whom they could be proud of, not Phylis Schlafly Jr. Sarah Palin is a man in a dress."

That's funny. One correction. Old women want a women in the White House. Young women don't feel the need to "cling" to our womanhood. We've already arrived and are comfortable seeing past gender to make choices based on facts and issues that move forward.

Posted by: Cool | Sep 9, 2008 5:51:47 AM

Sarah Palin will fight the moose, but she's afraid of public scrutiny. Go figure. No interview(s), no job!

Obama has withstood a barage of mud slung at him. He's wise for his years, has good judgement, is principled and has the temperament to serve our country. People power before the Republican powerhouse.

Obama 08!

Palin scares many hardcore feminists. She is the embodiement of everything most women should be supporting. How many women struggle today to be a mother, wife, caregiver, supporter and head of the household. Palin has and is doing it all. A successful career, mother of 5, happily married to a handsome husband, instead of embracing her, feminists are looking for any reason to attack her, amazing!!?

Posted by: Alejandro Ramos | Sep 9, 2008 5:10:53 AM

Let us hope and pray that the media does NOT "leave Sarah and her family alone" because American voters MUST KNOW WHO THIS WOMAN IS and WHAT SHE STANDS FOR and WHAT HER RECORD IS and WHAT ARE ALL THOSE POTENTIAL SKELETONS IN HER CLOSET, and we need to know all this SOON, because November is not far off!

Posted by: All We Want is the TRUTH | Sep 9, 2008 3:32:13 AM

AJ--
then you do not know many women!
everyone I know--all dems--are excited with Palin. She is a successful smart woman who will add to the party, country...

The only woman I know who is happy about Palin is my mother who has always voted Repub and always will. She finally feels validated by her own party so this softened her hatred of McCain.

Obama/Biden '08!

Posted by: AJ | Sep 9, 2008 12:56:49 AM

If you believe women support Palin, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

Women have wanted a women in the White House whom they could be proud of, not Phylis Schlafly Jr. Sarah Palin is a man in a dress.

She billed rape victims for their rape kits. She opposes the Fair Pay Act while her running mate opposes the Violence Against Women Act and Equal Pay. Both want to overturn Roe vs. Wade. She believes gays can be cured and that we are fighting God's war.

She doesn't even belong on the White House lawn.

Obama has done more for women than Palin has. And THAT is what is important.

Samantha - You stand to lose a lot more than your right to vote siding with McBush/Cheney-with-boobs. Unless of course you don't care about women's rights.

Pathetic! Hard to believe that a lot of Hillary Clinton supporters would rather watch our country rott the next 4 to 8 years than vote for a presidential candidate that has almost exactly the same views as she does. You would much rather vote for a candidate with opposite views of both Clinton and Obama? Puzzling!

Posted by: kgj | Sep 8, 2008 11:20:03 PM

Obama's personal attacks on Palin will backfire. He is going to only leave himself open to having his record in IL examined.

So Jake when are ya'll going to give us that news. You could start your research in the Chicago Sun Times.

It doesn't matter what when on.Hillary Clinton got more votes in the Democratic primaries than any other candidate in history including Obama. He picked a guy who couldn't break 1% in Iowa. That was the first decision Obama made that the public saw. Where is Biden?

Posted by: geevill | Sep 8, 2008 10:46:03 PM

Passing on Hillary was a strategic mistake and one only Obama, Dean, Kennedy and Kerry can assume responsibility for. Now they need Hillary to dig them out of the hole. She will probably do it for the party and for policy sake. I don't envy her that job.

I have a working wife and two daughters in college, I see them working hard to do well in school and at work. I am proud of what they are accomplishing in their lifes. I just don't see how you can get on the national television and tell my daughters and my wife that you picked Palin because she is a Woman and her abilities and experience don't matter. You got to be a fool, Women are smarter that that. Yes Hillary is a woman but a smart and a tough woman. Rice is a woman, but a smart and a tough woman, Ferraro yes, Mother Tereza yes, Margaret Thatcher yes, Golda Meir yes, Benazir Buttho yes, Mrs Robinson who has been a 3rd grade teacher for 23 years at an elementary school yes, Please.....

"they want to be put on the ticket!"

You are only half right. They want their voice in the White House. They had enough of those people who pretend they know anything that concerns women.

The time has come. History will be made by all the women in the America.

Posted by: Mary | Sep 8, 2008 9:58:12 PM

What do women want? I want a more secure country, a more stable world, a foreign policy that doesn't mingle recklessness with stupidity, a smart energy plan that creates millions of green jobs and helps limit climate change, and a whole series of strong economic policies to address financial regulation, home foreclosures, and unemployment. I want a Supreme Court that protects women's rights instead of taking them away, and a world where book banning and creationism in public school are shameful ideas for a mainstream candidate of either party to advocate. And I'd want the same darn things if I was a man. Unless you agree with Rick Davis, McCain's manager, that this race "isn't about the issues" but think instead that it's only about "celebrity" (Sarah Palin), vote Obama-Biden for a strong steady path into the future and not a right-wing retreat to the last eight years of disaster. Vote for real change that makes sense. Vote for Obama.

This is "nudge" McCain needed to thrust him ahead of Obambi.

Women have been looking for an excuse, ANY excuse to not vote for Obama. They are appalled at the treatment he gave Hillary during the primaries, and as cocky as only Barack can be... he said he wasn't worried, because they "will come back to the fold" come election time.

Sounds very much like words of a woman batterer, doesn't it?

Posted by: rodney | Sep 8, 2008 9:11:40 PM

No, we don't want "a woman" on the ticket. We want the RIGHT woman on the ticket—someone intelligent, experienced, level-headed, honest, patriotic, and willing to set aside personal ambition for the good of the country. That is NOT Sarah Palin. I would not vote for someone who would be worse for the country than even GWB (and that's saying a lot) simply because she has a uterus.

Posted by: Max Gordon | Sep 8, 2008 8:44:35 PM

I think there is a tendency for everyone (not just white women) to vote for whichever candidate they most identify with... to vote for a candidate who looks like them and has been through some of the same life experiences. Also, people appreciate leaders with beauty, health, and exuberance which Palin surely has but that McCain sorely lacked. So beyond just being an accomplished woman and a mother, Palin brings a sense of youthful vitality to McCain's candidacy. Plus she's got sort of a plucky underdog quality that probably magnifies her appeal.

Posted by: Justin | Sep 8, 2008 8:42:37 PM

Just goes to show that the Democratic and Republican parties are DESPERATE to hold onto what little power they have left over the majority of the electorate who will side with an Independent Party if given the choice by the mass media. Go Nader/Gonzales 2008. Wake up people.

Graycee,

"HEY ABC....ALL BARACK CHANNEL, why is it you publish Palin gaffe regarding Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, yet you have not said a damn thing about Obama, slipping and telling George Stephanolpolus he was MUSLIM"

Er, let's see how I can put this politely. Because Obama's religion is not important although he is definitely a Christian. BUT, the Sarah who parroted McCain's ignorance really showed how incompetent they both she and her running mate are by not knowing the difference between the two companies that back trillions of dollars of mortgages. I thought I would faint when McCain referred to both of these companies as agencies. How are these two incompetents supposed to strategize an economic turn-around when they don't even know the basics?!

At least Obama understands the economy. That puts him in a better position to fix this broken mess, yes?

Obama 08!

Nordstrom: Who cares who you lost a lot of respect for, I know I don't care! Just the way you and countless others did not care when Obama shamelessly kept attacking Hillary Clinton for her gender during the primary season. We lost all of our respect for you likewise and your clueless leader Obama the sexist pig! Did you really think there would not be consequences to that behavior? Did you think you would get off scott free and we would go running to the polls to elect Obama? Think again! We said we were serious about opposing him if he did not make some kind of amends with us and he has done nothing except say, "They'll get over it." Well, WE ARE NOT GETTING OVER IT AND NEVER WILL! And, let me also address not only men who think it was okay for Obama to treat Hillary like that but let me also address the women who have been mocking Gov. Palin and thought it was fine to mock Hillary and Bill Clinton likewise! We will oppose any candidate that any sexist PERSON supports if they run down our gender and it does not matter if they are women, men, martians, etc. We will mobilize and unite and oppose any candidate and supporters who think it's fine to beat up a woman on her gender! IT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED EVER AGAIN!! Obama had us until he opened his mouth and began bashing Hillary and Bill Clinton. The next time a woman candidate runs for office perhaps people will remember this election and remember to keep their big pie holes on the issues and not on the gender!

Posted by: Who care Who you Respect! | Sep 8, 2008 8:11:42 PM

Did Sarah Palin wrongfully push to have her ex-brother-in law fired? Was she really against the "Bridge to Nowhere?" Did she really sell Alaska's plane on eBay, or just list it on eBay? Did she actually have any substantial duties commanding the Alaska National Guard?

The correct answer to all these questions is: who cares? Which isn't to say these aren't valid questions, or that Palin and the McCain camp aren't playing it fast, loose, and coy with each of them. The point is that Palin, and the circus she's brought to town, are simply a bountiful collection of small lies deliberately designed to distract the country from one big truth: the havoc that George Bush and the Republican Party have wrought, and that John McCain is committed to continuing.

Could someone please convince me that Sarah Palin is a woman as opposed to a stepford wife rerun. Modern women no longer need to prove we're 150% manly. No need to hear us roar among men who aren't sexist. Oh, but I forgot, Palin's appeal is to the sexist republicans.

Republicans apparently need a wind-up doll that says all the "right" things and makes them submit (wink wink). They're to weak to come to fair minded conclusions or think about their family.

Poor Sarah. Poor McCain for thinking this ploy would fly. Both he and his stepford veep are so out of touch with the American public, 2008 and reality.

Obama 08 for equality of men and women and all the races!

PROFOUND!!

But we're still good right nordstrom?

There are more women voters than men. McCain's cow to the far right Republican base energized their lethargic base. They are now speaking up. To infer it's just a "woman" for "womans" sake is an insult and this article could use a whole lot more depth.

If white women in this country are stupid enough to go for Palin just because she's a white woman, than I've lost a lot of respect for white women.

Manitu.

Yeah, all kinds of people calling in on talk shows, now voting Rep ticket because of being disgusted with the trashing of Palin and ESPECIALLY HER FAMILY.

Posted by: Temagami | Sep 8, 2008 7:58:56 PM

Could someone please convince me that Sarah Palin actually shot and killed a moose and then field dressed it?

Posted by: AG Musgrove | Sep 8, 2008 7:56:21 PM

This too will pass when everyone goes home, when TV effect wears off, truth settles, when you don't have enough money to buy your lipstick & buy gas for your car ! Obama Blowout !

Posted by: Chris | Sep 8, 2008 7:54:43 PM

All the "Trash Palin" movement has done is "TO AWAKEN A SLEEPING GIANT." Trashing Hillary worked for Obama because, Hillary had a TERRIBLE negative rating in the first place. Palin is perceived (RIGHTLY) as AMERICAN AS APPLE PIE - MAJOR DIFFERENCE!!

Posted by: Manitu | Sep 8, 2008 7:49:53 PM

Uh, no the media should not leave her alone, what kind of moron would actually suggest that?

She's an unknown with less than two months to election day. She will be held feet to fire and there will be more dirt unearthed about her and the GOP will scream and cry "sexism" but it's actually they who are the sexists who think that she should 'just be left alone'. That really tells you everything you need to know about conservatives; they truly put their elected officials on high pedestals and they get really upset if anyone dares has the temerity to ask them a question. I remember all the Bush worship for years and it's sickening to see right wingers equate Bush=Amercia, therefore attacking Bush is akin to attacking America.

I still want to know why did Palin go to 6 schools in five years for a bachelor's degree?

Posted by: Terry | Sep 8, 2008 7:49:31 PM

Funny how right wingers who swear they hate Obama are so eager to give him advice on how his attacks are hurting him.

There's a word for that.

Don,

Gallup does (they started this year).

But most other firms do not.

Again people should google cell phone and poll or survey. There is tons of discussion on it.

Posted by: Ryan C | Sep 8, 2008 7:42:24 PM

But the Trash "Hillary" movement worked for Obama and his minions got rid of her. They figure they can do the same with Palin.

Posted by: Samantha, A Black Woman From IL | Sep 8, 2008 7:39:12 PM

I think Sarah should be at the head of the ticket though she is so much smarter and younger than McCain.

Sure McCain was a war hero but seriously Sarah is a ton smarter and that is coming from a white male who lives in Alaska, she really isn't stupid at all I wish the democrat media and the obama campaign would get off her freaking back already

Posted by: Dustin | Sep 8, 2008 7:38:42 PM

No doubt Obama knows that the "Trash Palin" movement is ALSO killing him and has also, no doubt, put out the word to cool it. Problem is, the entertainment freaks will NOT stop because "They THINK" that that is what the public wants. IDIOTS!!

Is it me...or do some of these Obama lovers seem a little depressed?????

Posted by: CC | Sep 8, 2008 7:29:52 PM

McCain is bad for women

* Opposes equal pay for equal work for women
* Voted against domestic violence bills
* Voted against child care programs
* Voted against insurance for pregnant women

McCain is more of the same. Vote Obama.

I agree Beckie!

"Why do you say pollsters don't use cell phones?"

Because they don't.

Polling firms use random dialers for published phone numbers. That's land lines.

Google cell phone and poll, there's tons of discussion about it.

Amazing the people voting for Obama. Whoever thought that the so called first serous black presidential candidate would cause a domino effect of race baiting and finger pointing, sexism, ageism. The entire DNC campaign has been ugly.
