A Different Member of the Keating 5 Introduces the Boss at Obama Rally
October 06, 2008 3:10 PM
"You don't get introduced by John Glenn every day," Bruce Springsteen said yesterday at an Obama get-out-the-vote rally at Ohio State University, as reported by the Columbus Dispatch.
Former Sen. John Glenn, D-Ohio, was -- along with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. -- one of the Keating Five, the handful of senators who met with federal regulators to urge them to ease up on the savings and loan owned by contributor Charles Keating.
Hours after Glenn introduced the Boss at the Obama rally, the Obama campaign launched a campaign attacking McCain for his Keating Five activities. They made no mention of Mr. Glenn.

Palin is a Jackal. Campaigning in Florida, she DID NOT stop the crowd from chanting "KILL HIM".
Kudos, Senator Glenn for having the decency to stand up to the racists in this nation and recognize Barack Obama as a leader.

Jill, you are correct. And I may have misinterpreted Faulty Logic's comment. Al Gore did have more votes nationally. But that is irrelevant. The winner is determined by who garners the most Electoral Votes--as outlined in the U. S. Constitution.

Look at a map of the 2004 election. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the reason why so many middle class people in the “blue” states are hurting economically is not because of George Bush’s policies but because those states are already following Senator Obama’s socialist, pro-union, anti-business, tax and spent policies that he wants to force upon the whole country?

This all just look like last minute desperation from the Republicans. They are giving their death throws right now. It just cements the Obama victory. As long we stay vigilant the Democrats will prevail and the more the Mc Cain camp throws mud the more others make a landslide possible. Landslide is the objective now not just winning.

Who or what is P U M A... I can't figure out the acronym? I never heard of this group until a person (or persons) was posting all over Tapper's other post yesterday.
Answer, please...

Bruce hasn't been connected to the blue collar working man since the 70's. Now, he's just like every other clueless, elite celeb.

I guess having John Glenn introduce is ok.. I mean both he and John McCain recieved the same punishment regarding the Keating 5 scandal..
Hmmmm I guess Keating 5 is ok as long as its a democrat. How conveniant he hits McCain on it, but doesnt say anything about Glen..

God help us if this election is as close as 2000 and ends up in the courts. The Obama cultists will riot and burn down our cities. Uh, make that their cities. In the red states not so much because we are still clinging to our guns and Bibles.

Recent economic situation is manna from heaven for BO, but these polls numbers are probably being diddled by BO supporters too. Polls are nothing until voters get in the booth. I'm hoping the young kids feel their guy is in and don't turn out....too hard to put down that beer bottle in the dorm.
I will personally work at raising the voting age to 21 for any student living under mommy and daddy and not supporting themselves. If you have a job or are in the service voting allowed....BUT NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 21 AND BEING KEPT BY MOMMY AND DADDY AT SCHOOL OR OTHERWISE ALLOWED TO VOTE...HELL I MIGHT AS WELL LET MY 14 YEAR OLD VOTE, BUT SHE KNOWS BETTER, AND IS NOT DRINKING THE KOOL AID, AND IS ALL FOR McCAIN/PALIN.

John Glenn didn't go to jail. He didn't take money from Charles Keating, or invest in Keating's real estate ventures. Or vacation with Keating in Barbados - nine times.
Keating went to jail with his buddies, Michael Milken and Ivan Boesky, world-class financial pirates.
McCain ran interference for them in Congress, stalling the regulators, stalling legislation for regulation.

Let's not forget that Sarah palin's husband belonged to a group called AIP, whose objective is to separate Alaska from the USA.
It is Sarah Palin's family who hates America, and wanted Alaska to seperate from the USA, for Alaska to have nothing to do with the USA.

In Sarah Palin's church, while Sarah Plain was sitting in church, pastors have preached that Jews deserve being attacked in Israel, that it was God's punishment for them for being Christians.
Less than two weeks before Palin was chosen as John McCain's running mate, she sat in the congregation at Wasilla Bible Church as David Brickner, executive director of Jews for Jesus, suggested that violence in Israel was part of God's judgment on non-Christians. THIS IS WHAT HE SAID: "But what we see in Israel the conflict that is spilled out throughout the Middle East ... is an ongoing reflection of the fact that there is judgment. … When Jesus was standing in the temple, he spoke that that judgment was coming, that there's a reality to the judgment of unbelief."
SARAH PALIN at one time at her church even joined a pastor on stage who had preached negatively about "Israelite" control of the financial sector.

As a Republican I have to admit that I'm somewhat disappointed in Senator McCain’s VP choice. Although Governor Palin is “articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking” lady "that gives a great speech" clearly she is not yet prepared to be President of the United States. It really scares me to think that we might end up with someone with so little experience running the country. Unfortunately I don’t think either John McCain or Joe Biden selected a qualified running mate.
However Sarah Palin is not running for President. John McCain is and he has over forty years of honorable service to our country. Four years ago Barack Obama was an Illinois state senator and Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. The mere fact that Barack Obama has to defend his experience against Sarah Palin should make everyone realize that neither of them is currently qualified to be President of the United States.

"After this election, Americans will have the least experienced, least qualified, least prepared president in living memory if the Republican candidate is elected and has a heart attack or if the Democratic candidate is elected and does not."

Well said. I'm afraid neither Senator McCain or Senator Biden actually chose a qualified running mate this election.

re: Springsteen's "Born in the USA" takes on a new meaning.
Obama was born in the state of Hawaii.
McCain was born in Panama.

Imagine, if you will, a Democrat in claiming the roots of McCain are radical in comparison to Barack Hussein Obama because McCain was born in a Naval Hospital to a father who dedicated his life to serving and protecting our country.
Really? Is that really possible to make that argument with a straight face?

"Faulty Logic, you are absolutely wrong. Several news organizations conducted their own recount and found that George W. Bush ended up with more votes than Al Gore in Florida in 2000."
Actually, I think Gore won the nation wide popular vote in 2000, but who cares at this point?

While the Republican Party is pushing the Federal Election Commission to investigate the possibility that Democrat Barack Obama collected excessive contributions, its own candidate is facing scrutiny on the same subject.
The FEC sent a letter to Sen. John McCain's campaign treasurer Sept. 30 demanding the candidate turn over more information about "contributions that appear to exceed the limits."
The letter is accompanied by a nine-page list showing scores of overages from McCain's August campaign finance report, including nearly $13,000 from Texas rancher Ray R. Barrett Jr.; $9,200 from an Iraqi security consultant, H. Carter Andress; and $5,000 from Joseph F. Davolio, an executive at a major national liquor, beer, and wine distributor.
"Please inform the Commission of your corrective action immediately in writing and provide photocopies of any refund checks and/or letters reattributing or redesignating the contributions in question," the letter from the FEC's senior campaign finance analyst, Leah S. Palmer, says. "The acceptance of excessive contributions is a serious problem."

Yes Ryan, I see your point.
My spelling is just like McCain's judgement.
Completely wrong

Springsteen's "Born in the USA" takes on a new meaning.
Obama was born in the state of Hawaii.
McCain was born in Panama.
The natural US citizen law written after his birth was not meant to exclude him as a potential candidate for President but it is so poorly worded (like the one that allowed Cheney to get away with treason for outing a covert CIA agent) for births dated that far back that his fellow Senate members decided they needed to pass a non-binding Senate Bill in support of his efforts to run for President, just in case the issue got all the way to the courts. Nice to have friends in the Senate or the US Supreme Court (right Mr. President).
