Chief of Staff Rahmbo?

October 30, 2008 10:01 PM

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., seldom takes questions from his traveling press corps anymore, but we try to yell them as he gets on and off the plane.

A couple of us asked tonight if he asked Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., to be his chief of staff, as has been reported by the AP, though both the Obama campaign and Emanuel's office deny the story, kinda.

"I'm trying to win an election," Obama shouted back when we yelled him the question.

"Plouffe is my chief of staff," he added, referring to campaign manager David Plouffe.

Then he got in his motorcade and sped away.

WestCoastMessenger -

We know that Rep. Emanuel worked in the Clinton administration. So? There are numerous Clinton people supporting Obama actively (including both Clintons).

Did you know that the lobbying firm of McCain's Campaign Mgr. received monthly payments from Freddie until August of this year? Were you aware that his Congressional Liaison and National Finance CoChairman were paid lobbyists for Fannie?

"... it's because they put a DEAD bear on the campus and put Obama signs on it!"

Try to keep up. They found a dead bear and used signs to keep it from bleeding on the truck.

I use my Kerry sign to keep the lawn fertilizer from leeching into the garage floor. I'll replace it with an Obama sign soon.

Reuse is something the green party lauds, yes?

Or do you just hate EVERYBODY?

West Coast Messenger,
It is Mr. Emmanuel.

Concerned in OH,
You could make a citizen's arrest.

Alpaig52,
You got something against a Jewish American in a position of power?

My friends,
I was for McCain (until I was against him). He performed amateurishly, and did not convince me (and the American people, it seems) he was right (no pun) for the presidency.

There was too much silly rhetoric, too much inciting divisiveness, excessive name calling (and that doesn't work because you have to be 18 years old to vote-literally, and HOPEFULLY emotionally too).

He also tried to elicit the woman vote with a woman who brought all women down a few pegs- winking, blowing kisses, and decrying sexism when it didn't work-

And then, he based the last few weeks of campaigning-when people are really suffering-on a "washed up terrorist" and a socialist-hating plumber.

It was creative. But it wound up being the campaign to nowhere.

WestCoastMessenger,

I'm sorry, but I thought from your previous posts you weren't an Obama supporter to begin with (unless you switched then switched again and I missed it)?

Concerned in OH, it's because they put a DEAD bear on the campus and put Obama signs on it! That's just gross. The person has taken down the Palin effigy.

Hey they stripped my post out. You are not allowed to use the z word apparently. Let me say it again, do you Obama defenders know that Rahm Emanuel came out of the Clinton administration? How do you like them apples. Also, he got paid a fortune from Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Just like lots of people on Obama's inside circle. I have buyer's remorse.

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Oct 30, 2008 10:54:32 PM

I can not believe that CNN right now is airing a speech live from BO. Un freaking believeable. How much free air time does this guy get? This has been on for almost 10 minutes already.

No RL, this is the guy introduced Sen. Obama to the space aliens who gave him instructions to turn America into a communist asteroid.

Isn't this the guy that reportedly went to Indonesia to get Obama's school records? Is it true the school no longer has any records but now has new computers?

Rahm would be an excellent choice. He's very intelligent, competent, focused and determined.

If Obama chooses someone else, that's fine too. I expect all of his choices to be sensible, with no political hacks included.

The question is appropriate after the election, not now.

Posted by: MIguy | Oct 30, 2008 10:21:13 PM

Mr. Rahm plays it fast and sly and not always in bounds; fits right in with the Obama crowd. I wonder how long before there will be an ethics scandal. I'm guessing not too long.

Obama must be really worn out after all this campaigning. Ditto for his traveling press corps. I have to wonder how the 72 year old man is taking it.
