Cindy McCain: Obama Has 'Waged the Dirtiest Campaign in American History'

October 07, 2008 8:56 PM

The Nashville Tennessean reports that at a children's hospital today, Cindy McCain -- the wife of GOP presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. -- said her husband's opponent, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has "waged the dirtiest campaign in American history."

That's quite a charge.

Mrs. McCain was visiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University.

“What I have found is that it’s necessary to make sure the American people understand what we have to say, what we stand for as a husband and wife, and what we will do for the American people if we’re lucky enough to be elected,” she said.

man, Cindy McCain picked the wrong week to give up her barbituates! We can forgive her for speaking such nonsense when she's still trying to kick her drug habit, but still, I must protest: Sen. Obama has run a very classy, nationally unifying campaign. Mrs. McCain would change her mind, once she experiences a moment of clarity. Btw, as an admitted adulterer (she and McCain having their fling while he was still married to that stripper), should she be saying such things?

The left's ongoing SMEAR CAMPAIGN ... ongoing false accusations of RACISM ... UGLY comments about Sarah Palin and Cindy McCain are DISGUSTING ... and say much, much more about Obama and the democrats, than they do about Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin. The Obama campaign has been hiding Michelle Obama throughout the election season, because the public doesn't like her. Maybe it's time to bring her anti-american sentiments, and 20 years attending Rev. Wright's racist sermons back to the attention of America. If you vote for Obama, you are also voting for voter fraud, media corruption, racism, and socialism. Keep America strong and safe, elect McCain/Palin on November 4th.

How could you say Cindy McCain is a racist when she adopted a very sick black/Indian child,
the newborn child had such major health problems & would of died if it wasn't for Mrs. Mccain devotion to the baby.
Bridgette McCain is the name of their adopted now grown minority daughter from Bangladesh.
mmm..This part about her seems to be left out. She may have alot of faults to some of you out their but being a Racist is one of them!

So the lady did some pills? SO WHAT! Now since the nasty ,hit below the belt New York Times went and re-wrote this old news about Mrs. McCain, now every media outlet in town has the GREEN LIGHT on bring up all the drugs Obama has done in his past.
Who cares what drugs people did in the past, everyone has their own thing they get stimulated from caffine-street drugs.
Now Obamas drug days are going to be under the microscope. He should write a "thank-you" letter to the TIMES for crossing that line.
Its not fair to do that to either party or person.
Usually people that write about someones drug use is usually covering their own...

No one ever speaks about John McCain's association with G. Gordan Liddy. Nixon's right hand man who arrange Watergate.
Dont be fooled by the Secret Society.

Dear carlyonsue:

What are you talking about the only thing I have heard the Obama campaign say about the Palin's children is that they are off limits. I am interested in hearing the evidence that the Obama campaign started the smear campaign. I am a republican and would love to vote for John McCain but cannot because of the way he has been running his campaign so I will be writing in Ron Paul for President.

As for the phrase "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!" the reason is not because stones will be thrown back at you. the reason is because if you throw stones in a glass how it crumble down upon you.

But please tell me how the Obama campaign started the smear campaign against McCain.

And yes I agree with you that she got help for her drug addiction but as for being honest about it the only reason she said anything about it publicly is because she was told that the DEA was going to release the information so she made sure to come out and talk about it before they did. Also as for being honest about it, if she was truly being honest about her actions she would have accepted the consequences of what she did. Instead of accepting those consequences she completely avoided the consequences because if it had been me or you, we would have been charged and convicted of a felony and sent to prison. She was not, in fact she doesn't even have a criminal record even though she is a criminal because she committed a crime.

Posted by: Josh | Oct 11, 2008 5:38:58 AM

I totally agree with Cindy! Nothing has been off limits to the Obama campaign and the democrats! Not even Sarah Palin's children! Now that the stones are being thrown back at them they can't stand it! They are screaming foul and that the republicans and the McCain campaign are not being fair. Well, the democrats started this war of words when they launched their smear campaign against McCain and Palin over six weeks ago! Well, there is a saying that says "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones!" Reason: The stones will be thrown right back at them! That's what the McCain campaign are doing! They're only fighting back after weeks of having the stones thrown at them! They have a right to fight back! They should have done it weeks ago! The Obama campaign shouldn't have started this war if they can't take the stones thrown back at them!

Posted by: carlyonsue | Oct 10, 2008 5:03:28 PM

To all of you who are ridiculing Cindy McCain about her drug addiction, she at least has been open and honest about it! She publicly admitted her addiction and she got help for it! Has Barack Obama ever admitted his association with Bill Ayers and with thugs?

Reply to R-T. CONDOMS DO NOT, CAN NOT PREVENT the spread of AIDS even when used correctly. Your "Imagine 40,000 deaths for the lack of a penny condom! Sounds pro-life to me!" comment tell every one you are listening to pro-choice (baby assassins) who are lying to everyone. Get the facts! Abstinence and murder are the only sure fire means to avoid raising a child. If you don’t want the responsibility of raising a family practice self control and take responsibility for your actions! Don’t drop your pants! The rape and incest arguments are a cop out. An evil committed against a women does not make the murder of a baby any less evil!

Posted by: Russ | Oct 10, 2008 3:35:36 PM

ANY TAKING ABOUT pro-life? Before the
Bush Administration there was a condom
distribution program in Africa. The #
of new AIDS cases per year fell by almost 6,000 per year. Then the pro-life
moral majority put an end to the program
because it promoted "fornication". The
# of aids cases has risen . Imagine
40,000 deaths for the lack of a penny
condom! Sounds pro-life to me!

Money can buy many things, homes, cars, planes, friends, children,(did anyone notice the poor girl standing behind the circus act yesterday), it can buy you out of drug charges, and can buy you into politics,
BUT...
Money CANNOT buy class
Money CANNOT buy character
Money CANNOT buy truth
Money CANNOT buy intelligence

As a republican and former supporter of Jonh McCain in the 2000 primary I find this statement of Cindy McCain's to be very surprising because of the fact that John McCain was the victim of the dirtiest campaign in American history when George Bush cost him the primary in South Carolina by "push polling" people in the state into thinking that McCain fathered a chil. The Bush campaign denied these allegations but I know that someone was conducting these "push polls" because I was one of the pollsters who was asked to make these calls in South Carolina. I refused to make those calls because I knew they were untrue.
First of all 100% of John McCain's ads have become negative and 33% of Barack Obama's ads are negative. In my opinion running any negative ad is wrong. But don't be mistaken negative and dirty are two very different things.
Second the statement that Cindy made about Obama's vote against funding the troops is true and it is also true that McCain voted against funding the troops as well. These votes are on two separate bills though McCain voted no on a bill that would fund the troops and set a time table to begin withdrawing our troops, Obama voted yes on this bill. Obama voted no on a bill that would fund the troops but would not set a time table to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq, McCain voted yes on this bill.
On to who is running the dirtier campaign sadly I have to say that it is McCain and I believe he is doing this because it worked for Bush against him.
As for the choice of Sarah Palin as VP. I think it was made as a tactic to get the disgruntled Hilary voters and for some it will work but other's will see the choice for what it is.
As for voting with your heart and conscience that is not the way to vote for a president that is the way to pick the person you want to be with for the rest of your life. The way to vote is with your brain because that is what the next president should be using when he makes the decisions that will affect all Americans lives for the next four years.
Don't let scare tactics sway the way you think.
By the way I am not voting for McCain or Obama I will write Ron Paul on my ballot.

Posted by: Josh | Oct 9, 2008 5:44:34 PM

As a person who would like this world to have a better chance, I would have voted for Obama. I have watched the debates, and I fail to see why Obama is not evryone's choice. The man talks straight, he is honest and his intelligency is evident. He has a clear vision for the American people, and looking at his life he is a hero. Obama has the courage to put US first, and struggled to gain the presidency when the country is in the most difficult times... Yes US has a hope wih OBAMA and as for me I would like to see Obama in the Whitehouse. He will shake the world and will bring peace closer to reality... Mothers will not worry about their son's in Irag and ventures that we are not quite sure why they have started in the first place. It is time for the soldiers to come back to their families and as for Mr Mc Cain who says that he knows where Bin Laden is why does he tell Mr.Bush how to find him?? It is time for peace we are not on this earth for ever. We owe it to our ancestors and for those who will come in the future to live in a world of peace... A highly unattainable vision but possible with such people as mr OBAMA in the presidency... Good luck mr OBAMA and may you get in the whitehouse and may you set the foundations for peace...

This whole campaign is starting to sound like the campaigns in south and central america.

Obama has misrepresented and changed his position since the beginning of the campaign when he was facing members of his own party in the primaries.

He has had and continues to have associations that are just as represented by the McCain campaign staffers and supporters.

Please note that McCain has made the issue of Jeremiah Wright off limits. The reverend's rantings are protected constitutionally and McCain has fought and suffered to protect those rights.

McCain considers Ayers a dispicable person and an enemy of the U.S. even though he is a citizen.

Conversely, it is never alright to attack a candidate as a friend of terrorists since Ayers was never convicted and hence is and should be considered innocent under those same constitutional protections.

Obama staffers have similarly used prior associations against the McCain Palin campaign. Todd Palin has also never been convicted of crimes. The difference from McCain's view is that even though painted by the Obama campaign as an associate of terrorists because of Palin's membership in Alaskan's for Freedom, neither the group or Palin have been convicted nor do they profess to have commited crimes. Ayers freely admits to bombings and says he should have done more.

McCain's attacks then have more justification than the Obama position, but McCain gets more ink for negativity.

Part of the system. The liberal press is giving greater latitude to Obama and the supporters on the right react with unfortunate name calling since that's the way they get noticed by the media.

The handlers of both of these candidates are going to spark real physical trouble.

When it hits the fan it will be McCain that gets the blame because that's the way it will be reported by mainstream media, but the blame will lie with the handlers and strategists for both sides.

When one of these rallies erupts in physical violence, Ayers will be boogying in joy across his livingroom but there will be plenty of blame to go around on both sides.

Posted by: Lance | Oct 9, 2008 2:59:19 PM

Cindy is lying! They are the ones who are conducting a DIRTY NASTY CAMPAIGN BECAUSE THEY ARE DESPERATE. Case in point, she is criticizing Obama about voting against the bill funding the war, when SHE KNOWS OR SHOULD KNOW that her deceitful, adulterous husband did too. Of course, maybe she's been out of it because of all the gray matter she probably lost due to her having been ADDICTED TO DRUGS IN THE PAST. Since she also became a THIEF TO COVER UP HER ADDICTION in addition to her own adulterous actions, she probably shouldn't be judging anybody else.

Palin has NO room to talk either with all of her baggage with Troopergate, her husband having been the one doing her gobernatorial duties, and with her negative associations herself like AIP the ALASKA INDEPENDENT PARTY, who wants to SECEDE FROM THE US!

Then there's McCain's association with the US Council for World Freedom, AN ANTI-SEMETIC organization!

CINDY MCCAINE WAS A GOOD MEAL TICKET FOR JOHN MCCAIN . WHEN JOHN MCCAINE MET CINDY HE WAS EARNING 25, 000 A YEAR IN THE MILITARY, THATS RIGHT MY FRIENDS. HE DUMPED HIS FIRST WIFE, 3 MONTHS AFTER SHE WAS IN A HORRID CAR ACCIDENT, AND MARRIED CINDY , WHO HAD INHERITED A FORTUNE FROM HER DADDY.
HIS FIRST WIFE LIVES ON A MEAGER EXISTENCE IN VIRGINNIA. LOOK IT UP , IT'S THE TRUTH.
HOW ABOUT THAT FOR MORALS CINDY AND JOHN? YUK

Posted by: JOY | Oct 9, 2008 1:11:47 PM

Hide the pills Cindy's at it again. Are you kidding me - this like Mike Tyson screaming about an opponent's lack of sportsmanship out of one side of his mouth with guy's ear hanging out the other.

Posted by: icarus | Oct 9, 2008 12:35:46 PM

Cindy McCain made this statement with nothing to back it up. I mean, come on! Where is her supportive statement to clarify what she said? It seems that the Repubs are saying whatever they can hoping no one will look up facts and instead, just simply, believe what they are saying. Short and silly.

Posted by: CRyan | Oct 9, 2008 12:25:18 PM

Oh, to be a SNL writer this week.

"How come I can't get my 13th house? Daddy promised me I could have it." or "This isn't fair. Republican smear and scare tactics have always worked in the past how come they aren't this year?" or How about her "fantasizing" about the big O dressed in her very expensive designer clothes.

Poor 100 million dollar spoiled Cindy?

The whining is worse than Hillary's if that could have been possible.

A little fact checking (like actually vetting of a VP) of her husband's voting record would have been a little prudent here.

Posted by: Robert Johnson | Oct 9, 2008 11:48:14 AM

Correct SARAH (Oct 8, 2008 6:09:49 PM)!

World of politics are really too expensive, but we don't have any other way to elect our leaders.

So, we need to accept the reality and focus to the current issues in order to move on.

Both side have owned stratigy and i think the American voters are old enough to choose who the best of these candidates.

But don't forget Gov. Sarah Palin coz' being a mother and public servant, we do believe that she has guts to serve you effectively.

Posted by: Balweg | Oct 9, 2008 8:17:48 AM

This is nice topic, i observed from differenct blogsites that most of Sen. Obama symphatizers are really obvious defending their idol, if Gov. Palin and Sen. McCain camp lambasting him about his association to some radical groups.

Well, it's time to balance all this views and comments in order to be more healthy and fruitfull for the readers and foreigners alike.

Posted by: Balweg | Oct 9, 2008 7:37:54 AM

Both sides are being hammered by negative campaigning. In fact, it even seems more negative ads have been run by the McCain side.

Yesterday, when Michelle Obama asked if she was offended by the 'That one' comment, she said that people needed to focus on the issues facing the American people. Well said.

Posted by: Fazza | Oct 9, 2008 4:44:18 AM

Cindy McCain is the luckiest woman on the politcal scene. I think that most Americans do not know about Cindy, other than she is rich and beautiful. They don't understand that her marriage to John started out as an affair with a married man - a married man with children, no less. Then, after becoming addicted to presciption medication, which is fairly common and NOT a crime, she began stealing the drugs from CHILDREN'S medical facilities that were under her charity umbrella. That IS a crime. However, she dodged that bullet - and that's fine with me. She's obviously changed and does good work with her vast millions. However, in years past, that kind of background would completely disallow a husband's candidacy. The lesson - NONE of us is perfect. Not Cindy, not John, nor Barack, not Michelle. Before we throw stones at each other, we should look around to see what's at our OWN feet.

Posted by: Fran | Oct 8, 2008 11:05:26 PM

Wow, has Cindy taken up crack now? I actually find it amazing what Obama has not said. And Cindy McCain really ought to learn to shut up -- John McCain's campaign has been filthy and dispicable, while Obama has risen above using a lot of softballs out there. Cindy herself is the dirtiest open secret of all. The woman is a freaking felon -- she used a charity to get her drugs, ordered the doctor who ran it to write false prescriptions in the names of her employees (without their knowledge) to get her the drugs that she was addicted to. And then McCain tried to silence the employee who notified the DEA by insisting that Arizona police investigate him on extortion charges -- which were found to be groundless. I do not want either one of pathological liar, endlessly self-involved McCains representing my country.

Posted by: pmacbee | Oct 8, 2008 10:17:16 PM

When McCain referred to Obama as "that one" it was a racial slur. How can a man like him be President of the United State, when things don't go his way. He will solve it by walking away. That's way we are in this crisis as this day. What a joke!!!!

Posted by: RC | Oct 8, 2008 8:35:16 PM

John McCain does not have the courage to tell American voters how many houses he owns, how many cars he owns, how many Navy planes he crashed-5, how he betrayed his first military wife. As husband and wife, the McCains stand for adultery, betrayal, privilege, entitlement, and coverup.

As a democrat I am sickened by the racism and hatefullnes for America that Michelle Obama has displayed in her senior thesis at Princeton, in the church she took her children and husband to with racist, marxist theology spewed forth by Rev Jerry Wright, in her statements about not being proud of America when she and her husband were given their schooling on a silver platter, when she married a man who was mentored by Frank Davis, a communist, who also was a hater and racist, when she married a man who was close friends with a bigotted and racist Democrat priest, when she married a man who was close friends with an unrepentent terrorist and his wife who got a jobs as professors because his dad had a lot of money to influence people, who married a man who did a "boneheaded deal" with a convicted felon who was one of his biggest fund raisers to get her "boneheaded deal" husband started on the path of allowing the Chicago political machine, which has run out of money in Chicago, Cook County, and the State of Illinois and now wants to get at the federal treasury so they can put some flowers on Michigan Avenue, who married a man who took almost $1 million a day as earmarks for his friends until he started running for the presidency of the United States with the big prize, the federal treasury, who wrote a fundraising email that said her husband would bring back partial birth abortion, who husband was the second highest recipient of money from Fannie/Freddie over $120,000. This is what sickens me and makes me so upset that I am actually thinking of not voting for Mr Obama. Then I look at all his accomplishments and it gives me pause. I am in such a dilemma. He seems so unpolitical and elegant when he reads his speech. He seems to float up on the platform and he has learned his talking points and can speak without hesitation after two years of repeating what Richard Daley told him to say, sorry I mean David Axlerod. What is a good democrat to do?

Posted by: hgp | Oct 8, 2008 5:26:09 PM

It's just awful to see and hear how divided this country really is. Have any of you ever gave any thought to the fact that just maybe it will be Mc/Palin who enter the White House? What about all those awful things you have said about this ticket? Will you look at yourself the same way, say the same things about your New President? Just a thought to add to your day.

Posted by: C Smith | Oct 8, 2008 4:19:45 PM

I don't think Obama has run a dirty campaign against McCain, but I definitely think he ran a dirty campaign against Hillary.

I'm voting for Obama, but I still think the real Democratic nominee is Hillary. She would definitely know how to fix this economic mess!!!

Posted by: laura | Oct 8, 2008 2:54:24 PM

Cindy McCain has a lot of nerve talking about Barack; her husband has waged the dirtiest campaign in history. John McCain is running out of time and is doing anything he can to try and hurt Barack. Oh,Cindy by the way is John going to treat you like he treated his first wife Carol McCain after he met you. Speaking of Dirty.

Posted by: Demarc36 | Oct 8, 2008 2:52:15 PM

No direct disrespect to Mrs. McCain, but is she having the same issues as her husband? Confusion?

John McCain, made a promise earlier this year to stay away from personal character attacks. He broke his promise, period.

Mrs. McCain needs to take off her rose colored glasses.

Posted by: Deb | Oct 8, 2008 2:42:10 PM

As a registered Republican I am embarrassed and angered by what this party has reduced itself too. Trying to win the election by scaring the citizens of the US is just wrong. Watching Palin's recent rallies with undertones of racism and xenophobia, watching her whip the crowd into a frenzy of hatred is appalling. Personally I think Palin's public appearances are beginning to resemble a lynch mob more than a political rally. Smear tactics are one thing, we have come to expect that of the electoral process but McCain and Palin are dragging this election into a depth of darkness that which we've not seen before. Seriously, what do you think these two would do in the White House?

Posted by: Steve | Oct 8, 2008 2:40:33 PM

For real?!? The dirtiest campaign? Every ad that John McCain has up right now, 100%, are negative attack ads. 100%!!! And shame on you Jake Tapper...it's not just "quite an allegation"...you can make some sort of judgment here.

McCain should take some serious anger management classes. Seriously.

But I digress, Cindy is an insult to mankind. She was called the "C" word by her husband and she wants to be the first lady. I don't think so, she had no respect for herself and can not represent American women.

Go back to Arizona Cindy and keep pretending you have a clue.

Cindy does live in the real world. It allows to brush off extremely offensive remarks made to her by her husband in front of reporters yet accuse her husband's opponent of dirty politics. Any woman who would allow herself to be called what her husband called her doesn't have an opinion worth listening to.

I doubt if Mrs McCain watches her husband's Campaign Ads.

If she does, I am sure she would have a different opinion.

Its a case of the Pot calling the Kettle, black.

Obama has been overly and excessively respectful of Senator McCain. He has tried as much as possible to maintain his calm in the face of aggression from Senator McCain and his Campaign.

Senator McCain allowed Steve Schmidt to arm-twist him into going negative.

I doubt if Americans love angry and grumpy old men

Cindy McCain is a BIG JOKE! Let's not get into what THEY stand for as a couple! John McCain was married when he met her with a disabled wife and they had an affair. ADULTERY is what they stand for! As for what they will do for the American people if John McCain gets elected, all we would have to do is look at either of them with their cars, homes and wealth to be staring hypocracy right in the face!

"One of the clearest cases of 'projection' in the American political history." — Brooklyn Democrat

You're absolutely right! Check out the editorial in today's New York Times:

Politics of Attack

It is a sorry fact of American political life that campaigns get ugly, often in their final weeks. But Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin have been running one of the most appalling campaigns we can remember.

They have gone far beyond the usual fare of quotes taken out of context and distortions of an opponent's record — into the dark territory of race-baiting and xenophobia. Senator Barack Obama has taken some cheap shots at Mr. McCain, but there is no comparison.

Despite the occasional slip (referring to Mr. Obama's "cronies" and calling him "that one"), Mr. McCain tried to take a higher road in Tuesday night's presidential debate. It was hard to keep track of the number of time he referred to his audience as "my friends." But apart from promising to buy up troubled mortgages as president, he offered no real answers for how he plans to solve the country's deep economic crisis. He is unable or unwilling to admit that the Republican assault on regulation was to blame.
Ninety minutes of forced cordiality did not erase the dismal ugliness of his campaign in recent weeks, nor did it leave us with much hope that he would not just return to the same dismal ugliness on Wednesday.

Ms. Palin, in particular, revels in the attack. Her campaign rallies have become spectacles of anger and insult. "This is not a man who sees America as you see it and how I see America," Ms. Palin has taken to saying.
That line follows passages in Ms. Palin's new stump speech in which she twists Mr. Obama's ill-advised but fleeting and long-past association with William Ayers, founder of the Weather Underground and confessed bomber. By the time she's done, she implies that Mr. Obama is right now a close friend of Mr. Ayers — and sympathetic to the violent overthrow of the government. The Democrat, she says, "sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."

Her demagoguery has elicited some frightening, intolerable responses. A recent Washington Post report said at a rally in Florida this week a man yelled "kill him!" as Ms. Palin delivered that line and others shouted epithets at an African-American member of a TV crew.

Mr. McCain's aides haven't even tried to hide their cynical tactics, saying they were "going negative" in hopes of shifting attention away from the financial crisis — and by implication Mr. McCain's stumbling response.

We certainly expected better from Mr. McCain, who once showed withering contempt for win-at-any-cost politics. He was driven out of the 2000 Republican primaries by this sort of smear, orchestrated by some of the same people who are now running his campaign.
And the tactic of guilt by association is perplexing, since Mr. McCain has his own list of political associates he would rather forget. We were disappointed to see the Obama campaign air an ad (held for just this occasion) reminding voters of Mr. McCain's involvement in the Keating Five savings-and-loan debacle, for which he was reprimanded by the Senate. That episode at least bears on Mr. McCain's claims to be the morally pure candidate and his argument that he alone is capable of doing away with greed, fraud and abuse.

In a way, we should not be surprised that Mr. McCain has stooped so low, since the debate showed once again that he has little else to talk about. He long ago abandoned his signature issues of immigration reform and global warming; his talk of "victory" in Iraq has little to offer a war-weary nation; and his Reagan-inspired ideology of starving government and shredding regulation lies in tatters on Wall Street.

But surely, Mr. McCain and his team can come up with a better answer to that problem than inciting more division, anger and hatred.

All you have to do is read the replies from Obama supporters on this blog to understand Cindy McCain is telling the truth. Obama told them to get in faces and be ruthless.

He is not only killing the markets, he is turning the American culture into a gangsta rap video parody.

Say No To Thugs.

This family-values duo who earned its fortune distributing alcohol to every corner of the nation stands in judgement of someone else? These two who violated the institution of marriage by having an affair now fights for the sanctity of marriage (to exclude alternative couples). These two who were in bed with Keating now expect us to believe they are about reform and ethics? Cindy McCain is a joke. And so is her husband.

Posted by: Chris | Oct 8, 2008 9:12:57 AM

What was dirty was Cindy McCain having an elicit affair with McCain while he was still married. That was beyond DIRTY!!

Posted by: Linda | Oct 8, 2008 8:58:43 AM

Cindy, get out of your bubble!

One of the clearest cases of "projection" in American political history.

Posted by: Brooklyn Democrat | Oct 8, 2008 6:30:47 AM

Cindy, Cindy, Cindy, When will we ever learn?
Your old fashioned Husband will twist the truth to satisfy his agenda, and you are none the wiser!
Senator Obama is so honest that he is crystal clear with his proclamation that he can solve all of Americas problems! Vote Obama and all of the worlds troubles will be over! he has all the answers. He is the nostradamus of the 21st century, can't you tell that by his eloquence without saying anything? I for one wretch at the offering we have for presidential candidates. Our constitution means nothing... throw it out the window.
George and Abe are spinning in thier graves right now on this election choice!

flo,

McCain's ebay line made me crack up! He's so out of touch with both technology and the market. Of all the companies in the world, he chose the one that just announced lay offs earlier that day. Guess, like Palin, he doesn't read the news either. Go figure!

Obama/Biden 08!

What Cindy really means... If Obama fights back by slinging truths about my husband, he's running the dirtiest campaign ever.

Face it, Cindy, you married a slug!

1. ...*you don't agree with*...

Posted by: JJ | Oct 8, 2008 4:25:10 AM

Okay, I'm sorry, but I can't even read all of this. I know this is going to be a bit off topic, it's more of a kritik of the majority writing on this space.

1. Okay, she had drug problems in the past, fine, whatever, so did Senator Obama, so did former President Bill Clinton, what's your frakin' point? Just because she says something she doesn't agree with doesn't mean she's having a "flashback" or "is back on the pills again." Really, you criticize the McCain campaign for smear? Come on, get over yourselves.

2. The silver spoon comments are ridiculous. I'm sorry, folks, but the fact of the matter is Senator McCain did not have a silver spoon. Ever. He grew up basically raised by a single parent, as I'm sure some of you have been, due to his father's work. Senator Obama tries to play up the fact his mom was a single mom, that he was raised by his grandparents. Fine, it happens. It doesn't mean that now he can connect with the middle class, what with his Rezko home and all.

3. I just have to chuckle at all of you getting your panties all in a knot about Senator Obama "running the dirtiest campaign in history" and then, in the same ranting breath, state as fact that, in fact, McCAIN has "run the dirtiest campaign in history." Both comments are BS, I'm sorry, get over yourselves.

Hope this comment helps you examine what it is you believe and maybe changes your mind next time you "open minded liberals" decide to spew garbage.

Take care.

When I first saw this comment, I thought for a moment I had navigated to the Onion.

Unbelievable!

Posted by: Hockey Mom | Oct 8, 2008 12:15:01 AM

Thank God, Cindy is calling a spade a spade....oops, can I say that?
Seriously, she's allowed to say this...it's the truth....ask Hillary, she'll agree.

McCain and Palin have had to turn to smear tactics, because they are losing so poorly in the polls.
Neither one can come up with anything feasible to help our country's problems.
Sometimes if you really listen to Palin, don't you get the feeling that she has forgotten, she is running for VICE PRESIDENT, not president!!!
McCain has his hands full with this idiot woman, that's for sure.
I am a woman, and find her an embarrassment for the rest of us women.
SO TIRED, of her cutesy "sixpack Joe's", which to me is a big insult to most men in this country, and really tired of "hockey moms", which she seems to lump all us women under.
McCain showed again tonight, that he is just a mean spirited, bitter, old man, that has no concept of what the normal American is going thru, with the bad economy, etc.
He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and could never be able to relate to our problems, because he's never hurt for money.

Posted by: Jep | Oct 7, 2008 11:40:38 PM

OMG!!! Which candidate decided if he couldn't have his own way with his town meeting debates (which obviously didn't score him any points tonight)then he would just have to focus on negative mudslinging instead of the strengths he feels he possesses to lead our nation. When it comes to personal character and values, McCain has a big "L" forever branded on his forehead for the underhanded campaign he's conducted. It will not be forgotten. He might as well saddle up & head west off into the sunset, with his pretty little filly by his side.

Amazing. The McCain campaign has turned into a lynch mob, not a campaign. Cindy McCain would be a lot more credible if she had gone through what most drug addicts/thieves go through - but she didn't. She did not serve a day in jail. She is a multi-millionaire who has no idea what it means to be a regular American.

Posted by: mara | Oct 7, 2008 11:34:11 PM

Excuse me? Ms. McCain I believe your husbands campaign dished out many untrue things. Lets see, how do you justify the untelling lies of calling Obama a terrorist/arising in this campaign? I know you love this guy but please please get honest---

I can see McCain as a very abusive peron and actually feel sorry that he is this way!!!
Go Obama

Posted by: Sophia | Oct 7, 2008 11:22:12 PM

cnn poll who won the debate:

Obama 54%

McCain 30%

Posted by: Aussie | Oct 7, 2008 11:18:33 PM

OBAMA 2
McCain 0

Just like Michigan, McCain should just pack up and leave.

Awe, the trust fund junkie is unhappy she doesn't get a room at the White House.

McCain and Palin have been sleeping in the mud for weeks and have just gotten worse.

And daddy's money girl is upset?

Posted by: What is her | Oct 7, 2008 11:14:35 PM

I thought it was interesting that McCain would flaunt Ebay given they just laid off 10% of their work force. This was in the newspaper today.
