Good Ol' Edrty Eddty of Poiuyttrrewe / Qwertyuio
October 11, 2008 11:56 AM
The Washington Post's Matthew Mosk takes a look at some of those iffy internet low-dollar Obama donors and wonders how they escaped notice of the campaign.
"New discoveries from a cursory review of the listings include Edrty Eddty, who donated $250 in July 2008 and Es Esh, who gave $325 in July. Esh hailed from this unusual address: 'fhdfhdfh, Erial, NJ 08081' Eddty listed his, or perhaps her, employer as 'Poiuyttrrewe / Qwertyuio' -- the letters, more or less in order, found on the top line of standard computer keyboards," Mosk writes.
"The Obama campaign gave all the money from questionable donors back. But the series of news reports uncovering fake contributions is raising eyebrows. How could a system that collects contributions not immediately discover such obviously false names?"
The Obama campaign points out that McCain has had issues with improper donations as well, and has returned $1.2 million in contributions during the primaries, including some raised from foreign nationals.
But Edrty Eddty and Es Esh raise eyebrows, Mosk points out. Read more HERE.

"If you use your real name, that name carries to your blog and blog posts. Now, let's face it. None of us are identifying ourselves here either."
Untrue, Kravitz. Some of us have been blogging under our real names from the beginning and post with our real names on all web posts. Some of us have a rule of submission on our blogs: no name, no post.
If all of the political blogs for the news services did that, much of the racism, bigotry and hate filled rants would stop almost instantly. And then any candidate's supporter or surrogate that threatened you would be identified and you would know that to vote for them is to vote for thuggery.
Go through the posts on the lists for the last ten months and count the posts from Obama supporters using false names that are thuggish by content. Then you will understand why so many of Hillary Clinton's supporters will not vote for Barack Obama. The means count because they go to the question of character, and yes, a candidate must account for the character of their supporters and surrogates.
Just as you are saying McCain should and has.
To do otherwise is to say that we are afraid. Fear is the mindkiller.

Don't argue with rednecks. They don't even know when they're being insulted. They've run out of reason and intelligence. Do we see what's left? By their fruits ye shall know them.

All this hoopla and all it means is she tried to fire a guy who was bad at his job, and the Dems turn it into something serious, like, oh I dunno, like voter registration fraud, terrorist links, or anti American religious mentors.

Troopergate Inquiry finds Sarah Palin GUILTY.
Sarah Palin VIOLATED THE TRUST Alaskans placed in her and BROKE THE LAW as their governor when she fired a state official who had refused to dismiss her ex-brother-in-law from his job as a state trooper, according a legislative report released Friday night.
Ten republicans and four democrats were unanimous in adopting the findings (as they were in initiating the investigation.)

How do they return the money if they don't know who really donated it?
Posted by: Maria | Oct 11, 2008 5:43:40 PM
So, let me get this straight. If I donate to a campaign by credit card using my real name, a little red light and siren go off in my bosses office and the riot squad comes out and takes me away because the boss doesn't support that candidate?
Bull!

Exactly right!

You know, I'm one of those folks in that pile. How and why? Did you ask us? No. You assumed we're frauds.
Here's an issue...should you wish to contribute at the Obama site and also participate in blogs or other things, the name you entered carries around the site with you.
If you use your real name, that name carries to your blog and blog posts.
Now, let's face it. None of us are identifying ourselves here either.
Some people are in jobs or job searches where their political affiliation would be a problem for their boss. Not just folks who work at Wal-Mart, but many people in finance, civil service, etc.
It it a privacy issue, not a fraud issue.
McCain got more by hiringthe lobbyist who used to work for the lobbyists than Obama got from donors who just don't want to be identified.
Spend more time tracking down Sarah Palin for an interview on Troopergate, and don't take no from her campaign about why she's not available.
Either don't report her trivia, or get her on the record about Troopergate. That's fair.

RLamb,
Don't be stupid my friend.
You donate by Credit Card and the form you fill does not have to have the address on the Credit Card files.
Once they verify they send money back to non-US citizens/residents by refunding the credit card you used.
As someone who has contributed to Congressional/Senatoral candidates and to Howard Dean, John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, I find that the Barack Obama campaign was more stringent than the others in verifying donors.
The other campaigns counted more on your honesty, something that is in very short supply in this campaign especially among Republicans.

"If the system that screens names is a computer, it would have no way of knowing those were bogus."
Untrue. It's easy to use a lookup list to sort common from uncommon names. That's a trivial query. Those would pop to the top immediately.
Some of us write code, friend. Don't even go there. If they aren't finding those, they aren't trying.

LeeLee07 CNN covered this story yesterday! FYI
The did both sides and proved you could donate to the RNC and Barack Obama with fake names! Wonder why JPT just covered oneside ?

Damn Skippy, Jake is a good boy, unlike those Obama mouthpieces over at MSNBC and CNN.
Everytime Keith Olberman opens his mouth you can see Obama's face peering up at you from the the back of his throat.
We will not even mention the one that gets "tingles" running up and down his legs at the mere thought of The Tainted One.
PUMA!

Such a parcel of rogues in a nation.

Keep up the good work, Jake.
Although we shouldn't be so quick to judge. Maybe there is an actual dude named Poiuyttrrewe. He probably got picked on his whole life by all the regular named kids and has to live a life of solitude. Let's call him Po for short.

It was to ACORN, but to specifically to their front group, CSI.
That is why they had to go back and redo their reporting to the FEC regarding this $800,000+
