House Minority Leader Says U.S. in a ‘Recession’
October 03, 2008 5:32 PM
"I said my prayers this morning, like I do every morning, so that I can understand and feel better about the vote that I cast," said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, as the House prepared to vote -- again -- for the emergency economic rescue bill.
Growing emotional, his eyes moist, Boehner paused.
"But even if we pass this bill today," he continued, "let's not kid ourselves. We're in the midst of a recession. It's going to be a rough ride, but it will be a whole lot rougher ride if we don't pass this bill. I will say to all of you, when this bill passes today, remember those words 'In God we trust,' because we're going to need his help."
Today marked the first time Boehner on the floor of the House said the U.S. was in a recession.
Republican leaders are generally reluctant to say the U.S. is in a recession. President Bush has never said it, and Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., tends to be elusive when asked if that word applies to the current economic climate.

For those who will cast their votes because of Pro-Life issues. This is the way I see it.....
McCain/Palin = Pro-Life. After you are born, you are totally on your own. If you are not rich, then you are in deep trouble. No house to live in, no food, no job, and no medical insurance.
+++++++++++++++
ya know "monique" ,either you simply spew the PARTY LINE or you're THE one and the same moron that always posts this scatology under different names.
your post is simply too stupid to reply to and only further illustrates the sheer lunacy and brainwashing of the left's following.

God is in charge, Mr. Boehner? Not any more. You have created an economic dictatorship with socialized capital markets. You have put the devil in charge. You are either a liar or a fool and if you go running to God it should only be for mercy.

I admire you John Boehner for two things: honesty and integrity.
Your recognition of God having to be the sole help in this "mess" is commendable.
I hope anybody working in the government or in any office for that matter will have to turn to God first and foremost when making decisions and not only when things go wrong.
I encourage all politicians, whether Republicans or Democrats; all voters, "seek first the kingdom of God..." and everthing will come to place accordingly.
Recession? Yes, recession of true values....
Have a good weekend everyone!

America is not a third world country. We may have pockets of poverty, but no other country can compare to our means, even in a recession. Immigrants who came to this country were the back bone of the industrial era. they were poor, but honest, hard working people. People in our country want more entitlements... that is what Obama/Biden offer. They don't want to bring people out of their poverty, just make more people comfortable in it.

Obama is the New World Order's Golden Boy. he will follow their lead in his quest for power. He has associated with some pretty shady dudes on his rise to the top... criminal types. I guess that may not matter to some people who are rabid Obama fans... they are wearing their blinders.

Don't any of you realize, it doesn't matter who gets elected; the President hasn't run this country in DECADES?!!! The New World Order has, and will continue to run "Wall Street," The White House,"etc..., until He comes back. You think it's bad now, just wait until after the election, or perhaps shortly before. We're in for a WHOLE LOTTA HURTIN!

Thanks, I'm pro-life and somehow, on my little own, I have food and a house.
The real question is, do you want someone who doesn't know when life begins to seize control of your healthcare? Thanks, I'd rather go it alone.

Biden 2006 Income - $248,459 Charity - $380
Palin 2006 Income - $128,005 Charity - $4880
Biden 2007 Income - $319,853 Charity - $995
Palin 2007 Income - $166,495 Charity - $3325
Hmmm.
I realize that many people can’t or don’t give monetary donations. Instead they give “charity” by volunteering and doing community service but I find these numbers very interesting.
Here’s Biden’s track record of giving. Sad.
Year Income Charity
1998 $215,432 $195
1999 $210,797 $120
2000 $219,953 $360
2001 $220,712 $360
2002 $227,811 $260
2003 $231,375 $260
2004 $234,271 $380 (2004 Tsunami)
2005 $321,379 $380 (2005 Katrina)
Even my daughter, who was 10 yrs old, saved her allowance and sent $150 to Tsumami victims, (I matched her with $150).
… my point is that the Obama/Biden ticket claim to care so much for the poor etc. but it seems to me that they only want to spend someone else’s money to help them. OURS!

Wow.....
There is hope in America

McCain/Palin = Pro-Life. After you are born, you are totally on your own. If you are not rich, then you are in deep trouble. No house to live in, no food, no job, and no medical insurance.
Obama/Biden = Pro-Choice. They will do everything they can to help the middle class and the poor, so they can afford a baby. They will be provided help for a house, food, a job, and affordable medical insurance. God will inspire them to make the right decision.
