In Montana GOP Radio Ad, Hank Williams Jr. Hits Obama for "Bitter" Comment
October 28, 2008 12:34 PM
Remember last April when Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., clumsily described economically struggling small towners as "cling"ing to guns, God, and bigotry?
Hank Williams Jr., does.
In a new radio spot airing in Montana, Williams says: "When Barack Obama said folks like you and me were bitter, and clinging to religion, I knew he just doesn't understand small town America," says Williams, adding: "We love our God, and we love our guns, 'specially handed down from our grandfathers. And we resent it when liberals like Obama question our way of life. Don't be bitter, vote McCain."
One has to say: Montana? What the hell are Republicans doing airing anti-Obama ads in Montana? Are they really worried those three electoral votes will go red?

Given he has a self-confessed history of abuse, has Obama been drug tested as is required for any employee of a major firm working for the government?

Certainly, you feel that way about Palin who has discussed openly her pot smoking days.
Len, this nonsense makes Republicans look inept, it is partially why the GOP is so fractured and a contributing factor to why a Democrat will most likely be our next President! Good Job!

"Doing drugs and having a problem with it are 2 different things."
Yeah, the problem is getting caught.

Electoral votes?
McCain is definitely not a wise spender. If he have to fight for 3 votes in a rock ribbed place like Montana, he has lost already.

Please do not count McCain out of this election just yet. If God wills McCain will prevail. Country First!!!! Look at what we have all become when we suggest Obama is the right candidate for this period of time. Let's take race out of the question and what we have is an arrogant, disrespectful, and corrupt poltician looking to fulfill a name in the history book. Every speech him and Michelle say are rehearsed and full of promises that will not be kept. He is a candidate with no experiance and has no business running for President. Why can't the Dems give a candidate who is qualified and worth voting for. I have not voted for a democratic candidate since President Clinton. Real Sad! but McCain is the better experianced choice. Look at the track records and not because Oprah or Some Hollywood person steered you, as well do not base it on color. Make up your own mind with what is the right thing to do for this country.
Read your bibles what if he is the one that is written to fool us into catastrophe. Scary thought! and might even sound crazy but what if. If I have a big question about someone, I cannot vote for them and hope we work it through.

Jody:
Drug and alcohol abuse only matters if it is done by a Republican. Same as extramarital affairs. See: Vera Baker.
And...a woman can only be a Feminist if she is a Liberal Democrat who believes abortion up to the moment of birth is A-OK.
Some Republicans in Effigy is Art...Democrats in Effigy is Hate Speech.
The Double-standard Hypocrisy has become nearly endless this campaign cycle. As the media does what it can to dilute the 1st Amendment...

I'm a liberal, I have a gun and I don't like H.W. Jr.

Everyone has the right to vote for who ever they want no matter whether their candidates associations are all terrorists, crimimals, haters or radicals.
As for an endorsement, Colin Powell said Senator Steven's character was "STERLING" and then backed Obama. Shows you never really know people like you think you do.

Another admission from the McCain campaign that their health care plan is nothing more than a bunch of right-wing platitudes thrown together without any real serious thought as to how to solve the health care crisis. From CNN:
Shorter Douglas Holtz-Eakin: John McCain's health care plan won't destroy the employer-based insurance system because McCain's plan doesn't work. Remember John McCain: Less jobs, more war? Well now it's John McCain: More tax, less benefits.

You are only "an American" if you we're born on American soil, and claim to be "an American". If you claim to be an "Irish American", a "Native American", an "African American",... you don't count. So think about what you claim to be. Think about what your allegiences are. Are you an American first and "everything else" second? Here's a hint. Read Washington's fairwell address. They read it on the floor of the Senate every year. Too bad none of our current crop of self-serving lawyer politicians hangs aorund to listen to it. They might learn something about dividing and destroying a country. However, they've all decided to ignore wisdom and learn the hard way,... by actually destroying the country.

Hank Williams--half his dad's talent and all of his dad's penchant for drugs. Go back to your booze-addled no career. That song was awful!

Wow...Hank Williams, a drunken lout from yesteryear pormoting another relic from a past era. That's what I call a ringing endorsement....but I'm not sure if it's the bathtub or toilet ring....

Sounds like the Hankster love his gun more than GOD. Or is his gun is his GOD? He's definitely confused!

The last time I saw Old Hank Jr. he was drunk & stoned and fell off stage in Houston. I've got as much respect for him as I do for a cockroach.
