I guess you were replying to my first post, sorry. I know the press is doing their job, which may have been that guys point too. The Obama camp knew his announcement would take the focus off of the Biden remarks. Timing is everything isn't it? And then he continued to do interviews to be aired on the day he was spending with his grandmother.

You miss my point, cheer up. My point was that he took the campaign jet on a personal trip. Much was made of Palin's clothing and nothing made of his use of the jet.

obama visiting his grandmother is a personal thing. period. but what gma and the other media do is THEIR business.
and it is their business, and where obama or mccain go the media go.
it is personal, but the media is there to make it public, and to hope to get some story, any story out of it.

Was that O-Force One I saw Obama arrive on in Hawaii? Unless it was a file video it seemed like he took the campaign jet to Hawaii on personal business.

If his grandma is so important to him, when he visited in August whey had it been over a year and a half since he previously visited her?

By the way, I'm an Illinois Democrat who except for a couple local Democrats running, is voting Republican for the first time ever. I'm tired of Obama and his supporters. My vote in Illinois won't do much, but my entire family still lives in St. Louis.

I don't understand why Obama and the Dem Nat Campaign Committee are fighting the Philip Berg charges about his citizenship? Why wouldn't they just produce the evidence and put it to rest??

Even someone on CNBC yesterday said that this was good for pr. So that seems like he was a little skeptical. It is funny how Obama has managed to get in a few tv interviews along with the new rally he had. Not to mention the press was waiting for him in Hawaii for what GMA described as a highly personal visit with his grandmother.

Why are you treating an Obama family personal situation as if it's some sort of political conspiracy, i.e., "What Is the real story?" Did you harbor similar suspicions after Jill Biden's Mother died?

These are real people dealing with a sad situation. Show some class and leave them alone to deal with it. If you have any grace, you might send a prayer their way.

sometimes, if a person has had a good relationship with a relative over the course of their LIFE,-going to see the person as soon as you can when they are sick, should be appropriate.
Jpt, and all who are trying to make a story out of this, are just treading on thin ice,and also, we might be a little rude, because only you or i or anyone else knows what the status of a relationship with a relative is. and that included people in the public eye.
when bill clinton was running for president, and his mom was sick, none of us knew, nor did anyone pry to much to find out how often he went to visit her, or hillary' dad.

if a person has not been close to a relative when that relative was up and about, well and alive, to go running to see them when they are ill, probally has more to do with some form of guilt on the visitors part, than it has to do with the sick person. but then again, this is probally a cultural and private thing, and not open to-to much examination.
and besides, for obama it is best for him to do whatever he was going to do, and let people say and judge what he does for themselves, because whatever he does-someone somewhere is going to critize him for not doing the opposite.

If it was my grandmother who was that ill, I would take my wife and children to console her. Who knows if they would ever see each other again? I hope Obama just isn’t trying to get the “sympathy vote”? Does he really need it?

If there is a hell, there is a special place there for people whose souls are so sick that they cannot even summon a shred of compassion for a fellow human being whose loved one is dying.

No one, and I mean no one, can say when anyone will die - particularly of a disease like ovarian cancer. There is sickness beyond carcinoma - soul sickness.

saw from somewhere.
you don't like obama, you will not be voting for him. no matter what his Real Story is.

I am praying for Obama and his grandmother. I also pray for all the people that are not capable of demonstrating sympathy for all of God's children.

Thanks for the report Jake. In Obama's television interview he said that he thought Americans would recognize that a man that didn't care much about his family probably didn't care much about other people either.

Hey, Jake. At least you didn't go overboard with a tear jerker story about how Obama missed his mother's death and doesn't want to do the same with his grandmother like Brian Williams reported tonight...which begs the question, if he cared so much about his mother, then WHY wasn't he there? She's in his campaign ads. Anyone who's had a loved one dying of cancer-knows when the time is real close. Which begs another question...if his "gravely ill" grandmother was reported to have "made a turn for the worst" late Sunday early Monday, why is he just going now? Curious as to what the people who trashed Sarah Palin about "family first" have to say. I think he'll use anybody and any story to make himself look good...which begs the question...What IS the real story?
