Michelle Obama on Leno

October 27, 2008 11:05 PM

Aspiring First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by the Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight.

On Wednesday, she noted, her husband is airing his 30-minute commercial.

"So he's describing this to my mother.  We're at the kitchen table.  And Malia sort of overhears it.  She's 10.  And she says, 'You're going to be on all the TV?' She said, 'Are you going to interrupt my TV'…He said, 'No, we didn't buy time on Disney and Nick.'  And she said, 'Oh, good.'  And she got up and walked away. She was just like, 'Don't mess with my TV.'"

Asked about the controversy over the $150,000 in clothes purchased by the Republican National Committee for Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Mrs. Obama said, " I try to be as empathetic -- I mean, especially a VP pick. It's like being shot out of a canon, and all of a sudden you're at the center of attention, and you want to look good."

That said, Michelle Obama distinguished herself and her husband from Gov. Palin, saying, "but our policy has always been whatever we buy for us, we buy, because, you know, that's just been the way we've run things.  But, you know, it's -- you know, you're  living in your home, minding your business, and all of a sudden, you're on the national stage, and everyone's looking."

Please, Michelle Obama frugal or down to earth....give me a freakin' break!

I'm sure she wears J. Crew! If you believe that she and her husband have about a hundred other lies they'd like you to believe. What's scary is many are actually believing them.

As each day passes, there are more and more things coming out that give one more and more reason to worry about him.

Today we hear his comments about how carefully he, "chose my friends." Marxist professors, ultra feminists, the foreign students, the chicanos, the active black students.

WOW! He chose to be friends with the extremes? Add that to Ayers and the rest of his current crew and you have a pretty scary bunch of anti-Americans.

Oh, but I have to remember that he is a unifier. That's the ticket!

I don't understand how so many gullible people can drink that Obama Koolaid.

Too many things to worry about....

It's not even that I like McCain that much, BUT at least he is a person who hasn't palled around with those who believe everything that is contrary to our way of life, our core beliefs, etc.
You can't explain away his own words.

Unbelievable!

I think Michelle Obama is woman of grace, intelligence and sincere dedication. Who cares what she wears...Michelle spends her OWN money on her clothes.

For the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm proud of my country." - Michelle Obama

Sure she tries to make herself out to be a very frugal shopper. Bullpookey.

Michelle rocks. Cool, classy, elegant and intelligent. Just the kind of woman Barack needs by his side for the next 4 years.

Umm yeah lets ask Daddy (Obama) just how much those tv time slots cost him?

Posted by: mima | Oct 28, 2008 3:43:39 PM

Ha..ha..ha.. she is the most intellegent person...

She is the most selfish, dump person .
Remember, when she said, she had to think first wether she could support Hillary?
Look at what Hillary is doing now...
She supports and campaigns for her husband!

Of the women embroiled in this campaign circus, Michelle Obama is the most intelligent, the most poised, and the most down-to-earth. Mrs.Obama has the least baggage and has the least negative things to say. Mrs.Obama is a dedicated mother, has no pretense for political gain, does not seek the limelight, and shares a loving relationship with her husband. Mrs.Obama has proved herself to be a leader by positive example, which this country needs right now. She will be a lovely and fitting first lady, has earned her own standing as a professional without ethics violations or fancy wardrobes, represents stability and even-handed empathy, and by all appearances promises to be an inspiration to us all for decades to come.

Anyway, JCrew is not the lowest prices.
I shop only when they are on sale.
Macy's prices even lower.

RayV: In the Midwest, if you make over $100,000 a year you CAN afford J Crew. I don't make anywhere near that much money, I don't buy a lot of expensive toys and live in a modest home. I can afford J. Crew clothes. Not exactly elitest. Just what you choose to spend your money on.

Oh yeah,,,lol...
Blah,,blah,,blah,,, everything about reaching out poor people.
May I ask you Michelle, how much your favorite " Jimmy Choo" shoes cost?
Atleast over $1,500/pair.
Let me see your closet at home!

People, if Michelle Obama can afford to pay for whatever clothes she chooses to wear, who cares? If people didn't want to support Obama, they wouldn't donate. If the RNC chooses to dress Palin with their money and not illegally use campaign donations, who cares??? And to find fault that the Obama children watch Nick and Disney TV instead of having their noses in eductional books all the time because their father ran an ad that stated his views on education? Geez, people get a grip. We have different opinions over what should be done moving forward, but that doesn't make the other side evil. What hateful kool-aid are you people drinking? In 7 days, we will vote. Hopefully in 8 days, we will have a winner. At that time, I really hope the citizens of the U.S. will come together and support the new president and work to get the U.S. out of the mess of our own making. We really don't need to look like a bunch of whiners to the rest of the world.

Mr. O'Leary, I call you that because I call no man Father, Except GOD!! God hates liers so what does that say about B. Obama and his wife? I am not a hateful person I only speak the truth!!!

Thank God For Karma....you should thank God for Obama and Michelle. If you would ask my opinion, there's no comparison between Michelle and your Sarah Palin. Michelle is a classic, respectful lawyer, and your Sarah Palin took 8 universities to get a journalism something. Yet, didn't help her at all to know certain terms of certain issues throwing at her. This GOP woman identifies with respectful Michelle Obama. Even some of our own called Sarah Palin: "a someone from lower couture." The Europeans labelled her as "a half-baked Alaskan Nightmare." Michelle Obama never said anything condenscending regards your precious Sarah Low Couture Palin. McCain's campaigning aids did. I bet even the Alaskan mooses are happy she's down here with you Thank God For Karma.

The reason that it is important that everyone knows where campaign contributions come from is because large contributions can come with an expectations of returning a favour. The contribution can bias the candidate. This won't happen with a donation that is under $200.

Secondly, everyone knows that if McCain got his hands on every persons name that is a Barack contributer, he would inundate them with robo calls and harassment to keep them from the polls. You can deny that, but that is the reason Obama won't release the names.

PEACE? where have you been for the last 200+ years. How did we become a nation by Fighting! So if you need Peace that bad go to France. They won't stand up for themselves no matter what. I am surprised you even vote, because that may cause a fight. Grow up. Agree to disagree...I don't think either candidate can put this country where it should be. Make other countries pay for food and money...and if they decide to fight...bring it on! What would have happened if our founding fatehers stood around talking instead of fighting....we would be a British outpost, or Mexican outpost....so be very thankful someone fought for you!

All of this rhetoric sounds like many of you are jealous and all dressed up and nowhere to go. There are many haters out there who are throwing stones and I am pretty sure that their house is not clean. I fill so sorry for many of you. The issues are who can better serve the American people when it comes to healthcare, taxes, education and rebuilding America reputation back with other nations. Do you not want to live in PEACE?

Who is better than Michelled Obama and Joe Biden, they may follow Hillary Clinton's footsteps and become our future president?? It is America's destiny. Maybe American people are smarter than that, Joe The Plumber, and all other business owners, will be punished and taxed, and they will not be able to expand and create more jobs. Obama is an extreme liberal leftist, the worst of the worst among the Democrats, even his philosophy is worse than Jimmy Carter's economic policy. It is socialism, no matter what we call it, "spreading the wealth" or "redistribution." Maybe we all are worshipping Obama, like a savior, or a cult-like leader, even the Muslim leader Louis Farrakhan declares him "Messiah," in the tradition of our founding-fathers such as George Washington, John Adams and Abraham Lincoln??

Jazzi and nothing like having a former drug addict for President? Hmmmm...double standards maybe?
=======================================

Hey, Bush was a cocaine addict and Alcoholic, and you voted for him twice, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander. You can't have it both ways, chief.

And Sarah Palin is queen of the welfare state, she spoke lovingly of how Alaska redistributes the wealth to all the common people of alaska. I guess seeing russia from her house all those years wore off!
