The latest from "Obamaha," as Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., calls it -- for the first time since 1994, there are more Democrats than Republicans registered to vote in Douglas County, the Omaha World Herald reports. "Obviously I’m not happy about it, but it appears it’s the Democrats’ turn to be on the positive side," said Mark Quandahl, chairman of the Nebraska Republican Party.
A Nebraska friend is still skeptical of Obama's chances to win the second congressional district, and thus an electoral vote so as to avoid any possible electoral tie (We examined this whole strategy HERE.)
"His problem isn't Douglas County, it's Sarpy County, where the air force base is," says my Cornhusker pal.

The only report of people having their tires slashed was from N.C. Tires on 30 cars were slashed while OBAMA supporters were at an early voting location. I'm sure it's quite safe to say that you're voting for McCain in Nebraska.

Warm Body: Why not just tell people that you believe your vote is private? Your tires will nt be slashed. It's a line straight out of Fox News - trying to justify the incredible hatred and bigotry of the Palin rallies. Tell the truth. It's easy. And if you lie to them, why should we believe you here?

You can believe me just like all the other bs here. Where I live you cannot tell the truth, you have to pretend to go along with the dudes or you will be harmed. My "vote is private" is not a sufficient answer. You should know you have been lying to us here also, not telling us who you really are. You know I can watch Fox if I want to and the dudes can't tell me what to watch.
So, I still will be voting for McCain and I can say I will do it without anything to apologize for like lots of voters.

More stunts, distortions, and deliberate confusion, particularly given that fact that the American people are now equity holders in America's nine largest nine banks (which pretty much defines socialism).
1) McCain's plan to tax my health care benefits in order to provide tax credits for those who don't have health care is certainly "spreading the wealth."
2) In 2000, McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy saying that they were "irresponsible" and that we needed to provide relief for the middle class instead. Now that Obama is suggesting that those cuts be eliminated and that middle class relief needs to be provided, McCain is calling him a "socialist" who wants to "spread the wealth." McCain was apparently a "socialist" in 2000 prior to seeing the light and voting with Bush 90% of the time.
3) McCain's mortgage relief plan proposes to buy mortgages at inflated values from banks and then provide mortgages at actual values to homeowners. The banks come out just fine...the taxpayers get to pick up the difference. More "spreading the wealth."
When you hear McCain and Palin suggest that they're opponent is doing something, it's usually a pretty good indication that they're doing it themselves.

Hillary has been a soldier. I loved her on nightline

Air Force base? Our Armed forces are donating 6 to 1 for Obama. I hardly thing an army base would be a problem.

"We've had a great campaign," said Clinton, who has made more than 50 appearances for Obama since he secured the Democratic nomination.
"We're going to win," Clinton said. "We are going to win. This campaign has so much momentum for all the right reasons. Not only are people concluding in their own self-interests that they need Barack as our president, but external circumstances in the economy have focused attention on what's been going on for the last eight years."
Clinton said Obama "is offering the kind of change that is needed. It's not just a campaign slogan. It is absolutely at the root of everything he stands for. The more I campaign across the country, I am seeing people really make up their minds that they are really voting for themselves by voting for Obama."

Can you imagine Hopey/Dopey - Hilary was in Obamaha this week making appearances at a luncheon for Girls, Inc. and at an Obama rally. She even made strong statements of support for Obama at that rally. Clinton was introduced by a Republican woman who has lost her professional job and health care in this economy. This Republican woman will be voting for a Democrat - Obama - for the first time in her life because he represents a real chance for middle class people to recover.

When polled about who I plan to vote for I answer "Obama". You don't think I would be stupid enough to tell them that I plan to vote for McCain. I don't want my tires slashed or rocks thrown at me. I plan to vote in the privacy of the voting booth and I think that lots of folks will do the same.

Obama does not need to carry Nebraska and it's 5 eletoral votes to win, but if he wins even 1 Electoral Vote in Omaha it will be more icing on the Victory Cake ..

It appears from most polls conducted that Obama/Biden are going to get elected this year as our President and Vice President by an overwhelming margin of victory. I hope the minority of voters (those who do not vote for them) will accept this result, as those of us who voted against Bush/Cheney both in 2000 and 2004 had to accept those results. We were mad as could be, and quite repulsed, but we endured it nonetheless. Look what these past 8 years have done to this country. But we're still here and trying to hold on to our jobs and our sanity. You McCain/Palin supporters are going to have to do the same. Get used to it. Live with it, like we had to. You might have to grow a spine in the process.

As a former resident of Omaha, I find that it very unlikely that Obama will win the state. The people there believe in the traditional American values and life style. Obama's "SPREAD THE WEALTH CAMPAIGN" is not the traditional value system. Be responsible for yourself and family and a day's pay for a day's work is their life style. Obama's is far right radical in his political thinking. Those voting for Obama have their hands out waiting for their next freebie.
The current and retired military people are supporting
McCain 68% to 30%. Those are the very people who put their life on the line for our country. Obama has never put himself in harm's way for anyone or any reason.

I like what someone else said about those of us having to endure 8 yrs of Bush.
I was not happy, but when elections are over it is time to get back to our daily lives.
Let's see if the McCain supporters do the same or not.

When is McCain going to explain his continuing personal relationship with multiple convicted felon and domestic terrorist G. Gordon Liddy?
The Chicago Tribune called Liddy an "enemy of Deomcracy," and yet McCain has taken money from Liddy, had a fundraiser in Liddy's home, and has been on Liddy's right-wing radio show

"My father is 62 and never voted. His excuse was that he didn't want to be called for jury duty. "
Way to serve your civic duty right wingers!

I am a college educated medical professional originally originally from Nebraska. I just spoke with my sister who still lives in Nebraska this week. She lives in a rural area, but is college educated and works in Omaha. Where she lives is typical Republican. She has seen and heard the racial prejudice, despite fact she is not. These individuals do not research well into facts nor are they that computer literate. These people can not check the facts. Omaha is becoming more affluent. It does not surprise me Omaha has changed. Also you will find the largest minority population. Omaha would be one city where views of candidate are checked closer. These people are more computer savvy. I heard Obama has sent offices there. This is a state where electoral votes may go to winner of that district.
I am happy Obama is pursuing. Hope he wins!!
My sister is not happy about John McCain health plan and social security plan. She is medical professional also. And she knows medicine well!! Which wy will she vote. I am not sure. I will find out though!!
And I am sure Republicans are not happy. Nebraska is strong Republican state.
This Republican wants Obama elected!! John McCain and Republicans have done themselves in as far as I am concerned. They have lost the meaning of honesty and integrity!!
