New Hoosier Radio Ad Features John Mellencamp (Nee Cougar)
October 23, 2008 8:30 AM
As Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., prepares for an Indiana rally this morning, one of the state's favorite sons hits the radio airwaves.
(Cue guitar strumming)
JOHN MELLENCAMP: "Hi. This is John Mellencamp; And I’ve seen a lot of small towns, but now I’m seein' small towns across America dying.
"Folks losing their jobs and their homes. Eight years of George Bush" -- pronounced BOOSH -- "have really hurt. And - John McCain is just more of the same. Over the last eight years, thousands of Hoosier workers have seen their jobs sent out of this country.
"John McCain will keep givin' tax breaks to companies shippin' American jobs overseas.
"Barack Obama gets it, he sees the value in American made products and a strong American labor force; He’ll end tax breaks for companies shipping our jobs overseas and give a hard working family a break.
"This is John Mellencamp, and I’m proud to support Barack Obama, because whether you live in a small town or a big city, it’s time for a change."
Listen to it HERE.

Whynot, Joe the Plumber would make a better president than Sen. Obama!

I think the last comment forgot that there would be incentives to keep jobs in the US?
Don't mind if you want to support someone that I don't agree with, but please quote correctly... :)

"Q: WHICH CANDIDATE is mostly concerned with Joe the hedge-fund manager? A: John McCain things that millionaires should get a $700,000 tax cut."
FACT CHECK: John McCain's tax plan will put more money into circulation in the US economy. His tax plan will create more of an incentive for people to start small businesses, grow business, and keep large corporations operating in America and employing American people. You think outsourcing is bad in America now??? Just wait until Obama increases taxes on corporations even more.
"Q: WHICH CANDIDATE is mostly concerned with middle class Americans.A: Barack Obama thinks that middle class Americans should get a tax break. For my family, that means $1800 more in my pocket. Joe the Plumber says that he would likely get a tax cut under Barack Obama's plan."
FACT CHECK: What good is a tax break if you've been laid off by the company who can no longer afford you because taxes have gone up????? What good is a tax break if all companies need to increase their prices in order to compensate for higher taxes????
Please America, think it through, very carefully. Do you really think you're going to get a tax break for nothing? Do you really think you're going to get healthcare and education and daycare and a tax cut for nothing? The money is going to come from somewhere. PLEASE AMERICA, connect the dots beyond just getting that tax break. Think about the consequences.

We have been flying John Mellencamp's great song "Small Town" on various mainstream media comment sections for months now. John Mellencamp is known as a conservative Democrat Artist and both him and Bruce Springsteen make us proud to be Democrats. They also came through for Obama when he really needed the help. Thanks John :-)

Lydia, this isn't the first time that ACORN has registered voters. They have been doing this, even before Sen. Obama was the executive director of voter registration of the Chicago branch of ACORN back in the 1990s. ACORN has consistently put pressure on the individuals they hire to meet their daily quotas or they will be fired. It is this pressure to meet the daily quotas that encourages voter registration fraud. ACORN knows this and continues to pressure their workers, THEREFORE they ARE systematically involved.

James Danley, just to clarify the Acorn issue a bit, here is some important info: Acorn hires people to register new voters. Even if Acorn suspects a registration is invalid, by law they have to hand it in. Acorn is not allowed, nor anyone else collecting voter registration forms, to destroy them. Acorn has bundled many of the suspicious ones and labelled them as such, but they still had to hand them in. It's the law. So no, Acorn wasn't trying to pull a fast one. The lazy worker who didn't want to sit out in a public area and help people register to vote took the easy way out by copying names from a phone book, etc. Acorn got ripped off when they paid the lazy worker.
But there is no voter fraud as all registrations are checked by the government before they are added to the rolls. Even the lazy worker knew no one was going to show up to vote as Mickey Mouse, one of the bogus names used.
So relax Acorn is not involved with voter fraud.
What is scary is certain states like Colorado, wiping existing voters off the rolls this close to the election. Simply registering with a middle initial when your driver's license lists your entire middle name is enough to bump you off the list.
Everyone should check if they are registered in their state. A search by Google of 'how to check voter registration' resulted in sites that link to your state to find out how.
Democracy can only work if we get to vote.

Lydia, why did you drink the koolaide?
The ACORN registrars don't care who they sign up and how many times.
Vote early and vote often.

I love this Mellencamp TV AD!!! Nice ad but not terrorist Anti-American mongering!! Sticks to points. Ad can criticze but to infer terrorist anti-American is criminal and these types of ads should be illegal under federal election laws. Robocalls by Republicans are method typically used!! Fooled us twice already and we listened, not this time!! We have gotten smart to these types of false
horrible attacks. No more!! Republicans are actually lying, lying, lying. Go check!!
Go Obama/Biden!!

Ryan C (the real one), 14 states are investigating ACORN for voter registration fraud.
And Sen. Obama gave $800,000 to Citizen Services, Inc., an offshoot of ACORN. While this money was supposed to be used for getting out the vote, I wonder how much was funneled to ACORN? Incidentally, Sen. Obama tried to hide this donation until it came to light. Now he is amending his FEC report.
Yes TWO is a small number. But that proves that it is not just voter registration fraud, but that the voter registration fraud has actually led to voter fraud. And since the U. S. Supreme Court has given the Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, the green light to NOT provide the election officials in each precinct with a database of known discrepancies, extensive voter fraud is now likely.

I like the ad. John is telling it like it is. Too many good jobs have been sent overseas and those companies given tax breaks for doing it. Obama will stop those tax breaks and give companies that create new jobs here a tax break.
Aren't the lack of living wage jobs here a big part of what is driving the economy down? Someone who has lost a good-paying factory job 5 years ago that is trying to survive by working two minimum wage jobs, isn't going to have any money left over to buy goods.
It's simple. Good paying jobs means a healthy economy for everyone.

Aussie, I posted a link but it was removed. At any rate, so far there are 14 states investigating ACORN for voter registration fraud.
In Indiana, more than 2,000 registration forms--from ACORN-- from one county alone turned out to be bogus.
In Pennsylvania, 57,435 registrations were rejected -- most submitted by ACORN.
In Texas, nearly 10,000 of the 30,000 registrations forms turned in by ACORN were invalid.

"Aussie, the state of Ohio has already confirmed that at least TWO individuals who registered fraudulently did in fact VOTE."
Wow two whole people with the Republicans combing thru every person trying to intimidate people from voting.
Meanwhile,
"John McCain paid $175,000 of campaign money to a Republican operative accused of massive voter registration fraud in several states, it has emerged.
As the McCain camp attempts to tie Barack Obama to claims of registration irregularities by the activist group ACORN, campaign finance records detailing the payment to the firm of Nathan Sproul, investigated several times for fraud, threatens to derail that argument.
The documents show that a joint committee of the McCain-Palin campaign, the Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party, made the payment to Lincoln Strategy, of which Mr Sproul is the managing partner, for the purposes of “voter registration”.
Mr Sproul has been investigated on numerous occasions for preventing Democrats from voting, destroying registration forms and leading efforts to get Ralph Nader on ballots to leach the Democratic vote."

You'd think a state with such a close relationships to Chicago and Illinois would have more support for Obama, looks like they take their cues from Kentucky.
Posted by: Ramsey | Oct 23, 2008 11:29:43 AM
Aussie: Yes, there is voter fraud, it happens in all elections, but this is blatant. You cannot look at the reports on tv and not know what is going on. It is not because they want Obama elected it the person of choice and they will do their best to get him elected no matter what.
As for Fox news, if it were not for them, do you really think that we would have heard about the savory charactors Obama has been envolved with? NO, because the MSM is just as bad as ACORN if not worse. The MSM also wants Obama elected as bad as ACORN.
As far as the world laughing at us, that is not new. The world has always hated the USA...
GOD SAVE THE USA!!!

Aussie, the state of Ohio has already confirmed that at least TWO individuals who registered fraudulently did in fact VOTE.
So yes there is voter fraud going on in addition to voter registration fraud.
