New McCain TV Ad Calls Obama a Hypocritical Liar
October 07, 2008 7:52 AM
"Who is Barack Obama?" asks the narrator in Sen. John McCain's latest attack ad.
A TV within the ad then shows a local Missouri TV report, that the reporter has since backed away from (more on that HERE), in which the anchor intones: "Obama's presidential campaign is asking Missouri law enforcement to target anyone who lies or runs a misleading television ad."
"How hypocritical," says the narrator. "Obama's Social Security attack was called 'a falsehood.' His health care attack ... 'misleading.' Obama's stem cell attack ... 'not true.' Barack Obama. He promised better. He lied."
The criticisms of the Obama ads are all on target, taken from the links above, the last one of which is this blog.
Is name-calling effective?

They're both just as bad. Obama's connected to a church who gave Farrakan a lifetime achievement award. I think all we're saying is they're both just as bad and just as big money and corrupt.
Who's the bigger liar though, and acting like he's above the big money, special interest, lying system he worked so good?
This is a time the lesser of two evils just isn't good enough. Vote Nader, McKinney, or anybody else than these two they have brainwashed into thinking are our only choices.
Supporting either of these two corrupt, lying sleezebuckets makes America look stupid and whipped.

This is typical of politicans..they only line their pockets as well as friends. It won't change..if that is the Change you want vote for this charlatin. If you think he cares about YOU; think again.

Has anyone ever been to the South Side of Chicago ??? I have - many times .
The residents there have been surviving in sub-standard conditions for years . There are no jobs , crime is rampant , and the housing conditions are so poor it is a complimentary exaggeration to call them slums .
The word ‘projects’ indicates a work in progress , but on the Chicago’s south side it takes on a different meaning - a stagnant , decaying slum . 11 of these deplorable buildings on the south side are owned by Obama’s friend Tony Rezco .
Obama funneled State money to Rezco to ” improve conditions in those buildings ‘ - never happened .
Obama also funneled $100,000 for a ‘ let them eat cake’ gazebo on the south side . The gazebo was never built even though I am sure that those families who are living in falling down buildings in crime infested neighborhoods were really hoping for a freaking gazeebo .
Sen. Obama handed his wife’s employer a 1 million dollar earmark . He requested 3 million to update a projector at the Sky Theater .
Trinity Church and Rev. Pfleger benifited from the 100 million dollars Obama doled out for the Annenberg Challenge which was SUPPOSED to have been used to help the failing public school system .
Some of the programs Obama turned down for grants were : The Chicago Algebra project , and The District 5 Math Initiative - both are worthy projects that the public school system desperatly needed to finance . Meanwhile , Obama’s buddies , and radical groups received millions .
When you go to vote this year , I would encourage you to check out the South Side of Chicago , Obama’s own Senate district . See what “Change” Obama has brought to his own district . Take a look at how his ‘leadership’ has ‘improved’ his own community , and then ask yourself , ” If Senator Obama doesn’t care about his own community, what will he do for me ?”

Regarding who BHO's father is: It is Barack Obama, from Kenya. He divorced BHO's mother when he was 2 years old. BHO never saw him again except for a one-month visit to Kenya when he was 10 years old. That's why he is rarely mentioned, BHO barely knew him.

John McCain doesn't think Obama is a terrorist that will bomb America.
But, he sure does want US to think that. He stands by while people call for a US Senator to be killed. He stands around smiling while people at his rally call a US Senator a terrorist. John McCain lacks honor, integrity, and respectability.
The press should force him to the logical conclusion of his new attacks, and get him to either stand up and declare that he believes Senator Obama to be a terrorist, or back off and admit this new tactic is an error in judgment on his part.
It's a pathetic attempt at manipulating the public opinion. John McCain is not a hero, he lacks honor, integrity, and respectability.

Idk Paula, terrorist sounds like name calling to me. (not to mention fear-baiting!)
Posted by: MC | Oct 7, 2008 3:41:33 PM
If I state that Barack Obama has black hair, that's not name calling. If I say he's a liar, that's not name calling. If I say he's a hypocrite, that's not name calling. These are things that can be quantified (i.e., he told a lie, therefore he is a liar).
If however, I were to say he's a namby-pamby or a panty-waist (and these are just examples), that would be name calling because these are just opinions - they're not something that can be proven.
So my point is, I don't see this as name calling and I think even real name calling only works if it has a seed of truth to it.

"The criticisms of the Obama ads are all on target..."
'Nuff said.
Effective? Only if voters are fair-minded and rational. If emotions, cronyism and mob mentality have over-run their senses, no truth about either candidate will make it through.

Obama's "Truth Squad" in Missouri is no different than what McCain has in several states. Gov Blunt of Missouri is being reported to the ethics commission for misusing his position and issuing a false and misleading statement on the Missouri state website.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are enticing crowds at campaign events to yell "Kill Obama!" They are not even stopping these comments. This is serious!! Sarah and John are saying "kill Obama!" Is FBI investigating them ?? They are wanting to cause bodily harm to a Presidential Candidate!!!

I'm so glad McCain and Palin are point out how frightening Obama' campaign and his corrupt ties are.
That "truth squad" of Obama's is very communist like. "If you say something that we don't like, we will prosecute you".
McCain and Palin are for the people and have a history to prove it. Obama has corruption in his history and lies.

Desperation, Deceit, Distortion, and Division, So much for "civil' discourse. McCain starts throwing mud with the sleazy personal attacks he used to argue against, and then recoils in false outrage when the truth about his own actions are brought up. The guy's a nutcase. Hate and Fear is all they've got.
Bush/McCain. No More Years!!

The truth hurts, and the fact is McCain has lied time and again. Anyone that reviews McCain's speeches over the past several years, would not recognize the positions that he has today. He has completely flip-flopped on every issue. He just say what he thinks people want to hear, not what he believes.

He's a dirty fighter that likes to cry foul - it's the "Maverick" in him.
He's the trash-talking sore loser that sinks to new lows as reality becomes more apparent.
For the past two months, he's been nothing but a guy can't accept his elected opponent (and colleague!) as his equal. A guy who backstabs a bipartisan approach to the economy and tries to take all the credit then places all the blame when it falls through.
He is, in modern terms, a "hater" and his faults are becoming ever more self-damaging. He can't respect others, he can barely respect himself, and it shows.
This elder statesman is acting like a child and the voters need to give him a time-out.
Posted by: Be Honest | Oct 7, 2008 1:20:08 PM
McCain's unnoticed (unmentioned?) strategy has been to accuse Obama of everything to which McCain himself is guilty.
This one is especially funny since McCain's been the one lobbing charges and character attacks for the majority of this campaign. Then Obama practically HAS to respond, to which McCain points fingers of hypocrisy, nonsense. The only thing consistent about McCain is a bad attitude and his inability to hide it.

All you have to do is click the links in the post...is it that hard to face that your master might not "always do the right thing" as Obama supporters in the media have trained you?
Posted by: Wade | Oct 7, 2008 12:14:51 PM
Well, research whether or not the claims have basis instead of crowing your support for one side or the other.
Did Obama request law enforcement to investigate "false" statements about him?
Did Obama make false statements about, for example, McCain's health plan?
I don't know, maybe it should be looked up?

It takes a lot of gaul for McCain to use the 'L' word. McCain is, without a doubt, the biggest liar in the country. He has basically lied about everything from A to Z.
One question about associations with people:
Why is it that there are absolutely ZERO character witnesses that have come forward for McCain regarding his time and service in the military, from people who actually knew and served with him?
Where are all those guys? McCain spent 20+ years in uniform and there is NO ONE who will vouch for his HEROISM or whether or not he trully put country first.
And to the contrary, the only ones who have come forward are those that are critical of him.
The reason is, as the latest Rolling Stone article on McCain points out, McCain has always put himself first. As more than 100 men lost their lives while his ship was burning and exploding, McCain retreated to a safe area and emerged from the incident "without a scratch" according to his own bio.
McCain is about the biggest self-promoter and liar in politics today.
He definitely deserves the beat down that is coming. I just hope he gets beat worse than Bob Dole did, because Dole trully was a hero AND an honorable man.

The OUT-OF-TOUCH RECLESS NAIVE LIAR who lacks GOOD JUDGMENT and EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP has already been exposed and that is MCCAIN, and he isn't along, he has an IGNORANT SIDE-KICK- PALIN !
"The issue of economics is not something I’ve understood as well as I should," - McCain
"I don’t believe we’re headed into a recession. I believe the fundamentals of this economy are strong and I believe they will remain strong." - McCain
"It's easy for me to go to Washington and frankly be somewhat divorced from the day-to-day challenges people have," McCain said at the president forum
McCain IS The fundamental Great Deregulator - He said: " I’m glad I deregulated Wall Street." In 1999, McCain was one of the senators who helped pass deregulation of Wall Street. When asked if he regrets that now, his answer was: "No. I think the deregulation was probably helpful to the growth of our economy."
"If we keep talking about the economic crisis, we're going to lose." - Top McCain Aide
The Lord will rescue me [ Barack Obama] from every evil attack and will bring me [ Barack Obama] safely to his heavenly kingdom. - 2 Timothy 4:18
It's time for the American people to get it right and NOT vote for McCain-Palin, instead vote for change. It's time for this country to turn the page and seek a new and better future for ourselves and our children. It's time for REAL change in Washington, it's time to elect Barack Obama for president !
Obama-Biden are the wiser and stronger team to solve the crucial challenges we have in this nation and abroad !

It's not effective at this point. As McCain said so himself, this is the worst economic crisis since WWII.
McCain needs to tell us tonight how he will turn this economy around, make us believe he has the intelligence to do it and show empathy for the little guy, or he will lose the election.
Barack Obama has already done all three.

For the past twelve days, Obama’s support has ranged from 50% to 52% while McCain has been at 44% of 45% every day.

Who is Bill Ayers? When Obama was introduced to him by Mayor Daly he was a professor at the University of Chicago and someone interested in school reform. He certainly wasn't presented as a domestic terrorist. No one disputes that what Ayers did was wrong, but he did turn himself in and has led a peaceful and productive life for the past 38 years. If we don't believe in rehabilitation - how can we support our current penal system?
I live in Chicago a few miles from Ayers and I had never heard anything about him until this campaign. Don't you think if he was still considered a danger his name would of come up before it was political useful to do so?

Most of these ads are misleading and are taken out of context. CNN's fact check has debunked the majority of them. I find it disconcerting that a canidate for president would condone such hateful, misleading, advertising. And not only that, allow racially charged undertones during a rally in FL. To allow a police officer to refer to your opponent's given name (Hussein) in a racial, prejudiced undertone, is frightening.I don't know which was more disgusting, a peace officer spewing hateful skinheadesk remarks, or a presidential canidate taking the stage with a big 'ol grin. Why would I vote for a president that isn't for all Americans, just a select few.

Throwing the US Constitution under the bus. Barack Obama is displaying a disservice to every citizen of this country, to our Constitution, to the millions that donated hundreds of millions of dollars to Obama’s campaign. I value the United States Constitution, our ideals, and respect our forefathers that wrote the Constitution so many years ago. Whether Phil Berg’s suit against Barack Obama is “for real or not”, the documents should be presented to the courts. Why hasn’t Barack Obama if he is holding the proper documents turned around with his lawyers and tell Phil Berg to drop the suit, or I will sue you. Prevent the biggest scam yet against the American people and demand that Barack Obama supply the courts with the proper documentation. The Democratic Party said two years ago there is nothing wrong with Fannie Mae---no bills before Congress allowed to fix because there was no problem. The Democratic Party is now saying that Barack Obama has a birth certificate but so far ONLY the “certification of birth” viewed by certain individuals from FactCheck that can be obtained after the fact by any dishonest means? The suit will be immediately dropped with the documents presented to the courts, yet Obama and the DNC hired lawyers to fight discovery and the facts.

Even it if should somehow work he will have destroyed this country's ability to ever work together to resolve our problems....and we have many. How do you work in a bi-partisan way when character assasinations is standard political fare? And don't tell me campaigns have always been like this. Obama needs to come clean. ABC got it WRONG again, it is Obama calling McCain a liar.
Now Obama claims he NEVER knew about Ayer's history (just like his pastor). Is Obama stupid and so arrogant (or does he actually think the American voters are stupid) hoping this will go away. His involvment in ACORN is well documentated. Where is the news media?????
Anyone who thinks character and values are important in any president, really should THINK twice about this guy.
Where's ABC, CBS, CNN(joke), NBC(really big jokie) and New York Obama Times (just canceled our subscription) in reporting the illegal donations by Palestinians to the Obama camp????
Where is the so-called "mainstream" media in reporting these stories.
Once again, the American voters are getting screwed.
Obama strongarm tactics might have worked in Chicago; but I am really surprised the "mainstream" media gives Obama a pass time after time. What a shame.
My family is also boycotting NBC, CNN, and canceled the Times.
There are good democrats and bad democrats, Obama is the latter.
There are good republicans and bad republicans, Bush is the latter.
I am a democrat and disgusted with the democratic nominee who blantedly insults his own constituency. We are not bitter, just disgusted.
The media owes the American voter the truth, not Obama cheerleaders.

Tell me why it doesn't matter to you, bombem, that McCain took money from Keating when he was 54 years old.
Or why it's okay that he has an ongoing friendship with G Gordon Liddy.
Or are those details about your candidate Irrelevant?

thetruth: ABC & Fox news, but why don't you read the recent post of Hussein? I see a lot of problems with the Republicans and I understand the frustration with the past 8 years, I share a lot of them myself, but I refuse to blindly follow some one who has been put on a pedistal of blind worship by a bias media. Hope & change are wonderful words but that's all they are is words. I try to vote for the person I feel will best lead the country forward and I',m voting for the least of two evils. Have you ever been to the South side of Chicago? thetruth is that when Obama got there he rose the Hope of the people living there but some how the Hope faded but Obama rose. The area is a total disaster, the stark image of what I think America will look like after an Obama administration, that's my fear.

Ok Jake, so where are the stories of O's nasty commercials, where is the story of Corsi being held in Kenya, where is the story of Rezko getting ready to spill the beans for a lighter sentence????????? All you can talk about is McCain campaign putting out a nasty commercial...must be nice to live in a one sided world.

I have often wondered who paid Obama's tuition at Occidental, Columbia, and Harvard. I thought it was some sort of affirmative action deal, but if that was the case, then Obama would have claimed he earned the scholarships. FL_Vet: Interesting.

MCCAIN'S MISERABLE RECORD OF NOT SUPPORTING AMERICA'S TROOPS AND VETERANS
by: Brandon Friedman
On Friday, September September 26, 2008, John McCain said the following:
===================================
"I know the veterans, I know them well, and I know that they know that I'll take care of them, and I have been proud of their support and their recognition of my service to the veterans, and I love them, and I'll take care of them, and they know that I'll take care of them."
===================================
This statement--made near the end of Friday's debate--immediately infuriated veterans across America and overseas. In fact, Senator John McCain has a very clear, long, and illustrious history of not supporting troops and veterans one bit.
Now, I've seen legislative examples, I've watched the YouTubes, and I've lived this lack of support in more ways than one. But now, for the first time, I've tried to compile as much of this non-support as possible into a single document--from a variety of sources--complete with links, quotes, and video clips. It's something that readers often ask me about, so I hope this helps. I'm sure there's a lot missing, so feel free to add more in the comments. But for now, I think this should give us a good start in exposing John McCain's abysmal of record of supporting troops and veterans. Here we go:

Thanks. You provide more factual information than any of the news media.

In 1987, in an unprecedented display of political intimidation, McCain attended two meetings convened by Keating to pressure federal regulators to back off.
"Senate historians were unable to find any instance in U.S. history that was comparable, in terms of five U.S. senators meeting with a regulator on behalf of one institution," says Bill Black, then deputy director of the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation, who attended the second meeting. "And it hasn't happened since."
Following the meetings with McCain, the regulators backed off, stalling their investigation of Lincoln. By the time the S&L collapsed two years later, taxpayers were on the hook for $3.4 billion, which stood as a record for the most expensive bank failure — until the current mortgage crisis.
In addition, 20,000 investors who had bought junk bonds from Keating, thinking they were federally insured, had their savings wiped out.
"McCain saw the political pressure on the regulators," recalls Black. "He could have saved these widows from losing their life savings. But he did absolutely nothing."

John McCain and Sarah Palin want to continue the failed Bush policies and keep grinding the middle class into the ground while their rich and wealthy friends capitalize off ther backs of american workers. Palin is worth over a 1 million - how many middle class are?
She and McCain are liars and are working to keep their cirty laundry in the closet and not let it get spllied out before the election - which atferward they will claim executive privlege to keep it under wraps. No more McCain/Bush policies-

At least three of McCain's GOP colleagues have gone on record to say that they consider him temperamentally unsuited to be commander in chief.
Smith, the former senator from New Hampshire, has said that McCain's "temper would place this country at risk in international affairs, and the world perhaps in danger. In my mind, it should disqualify him."
Sen. Domenici of New Mexico has said he doesn't "want this guy anywhere near a trigger."
And Sen. Thad Cochran of Mississippi weighed in that "the thought of his being president sends a cold chill down my spine. He is erratic. He is hotheaded."

Federal prosecutors moved Monday to delay indefinitely the sentencing of convicted fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko, sending their strongest hint yet that he is ready to spill his political secrets.
The filing asks for a postponement while prosecutors and defense attorneys "engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures."
Speculation has simmered for weeks that the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich and Sen. Barack Obama was whispering what he knows about corruption in Illinois government to federal prosecutors in hopes of getting a lighter sentence.
Its about to break WIDE open and Obama will lose this year!

Grow up. If John McCain has a better set of plans to deal with the immediate crisis, and the medium-term real-economy fallout, and the real global problems of the era -- fine, let him win on those. But it is beneath the dignity he had as a Naval officer to wallow in this mindless BS. I will say nothing about the dignity of a candidate who repeatedly winks at the public, Hooters-waitress style. A great country acts great when it matters. This is a time when it matters -- for politicians in the points they raise, for journalists in the subjects they write about and the questions they ask of candidates. And, yes, for voters."

Obama has denounced this guy a long time ago. This is all McCain's GOT?
Arnold R. Weber is a Republican that sat on the SAME board of directors and a BIG contributor to the McCain campaign! People, you are being LIED TO.
People believe what they want to believe. Somone ASK John McCain why he accepts dirty campaign money from people that associate with BILL AYERS. If he finds the man so dispicable, why is he taking his blood money? Ask the other Republicans that hang with Ayers too because there are several. Ayers is the white Willie Horton of 2008.
Ask Sarah Palin if the fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to her hatred of America and the damn flag. Her husband supported the Alaskan Independence Party. Their founder hated America. There is plenty of mud to sling. We need to build up this country, not tear it down.

McCain has been lying nonstop about Obama's tax plan since June and the media has barely covered the lies.
Now Palin repeats the lies. She also lies about her own record.
McCain will do anything to keep from discussing issues.

At this point, McCain seems so erratic that he has lost most of his credibility. IF and I say IF, he had not wasted his political capitol early on with stupid attacks that came across as mean-spirited and were easily pr
