Obama Responds to McCain Camp Insinuations it Hacked into Joe the Plumber's Private Files
October 26, 2008 11:12 AM
Some wild, evidence-free charges yesterday from the McCain campaign, with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani insinuating that the Obama campaign had something to do with improper breaches of Samuel Joseph "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher's private records.
"All Joe the Plumber did is ask a question," Giuliani said on a conference call arranged by the McCain campaign, giggling. "That should not open American citizens to having -- if this happened -- their private records probed because of some sort of political retribution. And if this is the way an Obama administration is going to conduct itself, the American people should know this before the fact."
When a reporter asked if there was any evidence that these records were breached by anyone with a political agenda, Giuliani said, "If this were someone on the Republican side you would not be asking the question...It does discourage people from asking questions, if they think that all of a sudden either at the direction of the campaign or just spontaneously all their personal records are going to get revealed if they ask a difficult question."
Obama campaign spox Isaac Baker issued a statement, saying, "Invasions of privacy should not be tolerated. If these records were accessed inappropriately, it had nothing to do with our campaign and should be investigated fully. But these desperate charges from the McCain campaign are just another sign that John McCain is out of ideas, out of touch and running out of time. The fact is, Barack Obama plans to give Joe and other middle class families a much larger tax cut than John McCain."

First of all, I have been digging around and trying to find out if everything, each candidates said is truthful... And I quote ABC: "...a plumber concerned that Senator Obama was going to raise his taxes asked him directly about his plan. The response was telling. Senator Obama explained to him that he was going to raise his taxes to quote 'spread the wealth around.'..."
1. My question is, if Obama believes firmly in what he said, why didn't he help pay for Hillary Clinton's 20 million campaign debt?
2. For the past 8 years, I have received several refund checks under Bush's Administration... I am curious if Obama did donate or return his tax money (since he is about the $250,000 pay grade) back to his government or people that he is supposedly serving? I couldn't find it anywhere on his records.
Thanks for the help.

I was 100% committed to taking out Al Qaeda but Bush had other ideas like taking out a country that was never a threat to the US.
No worries. When Franks, Dodd, Pelosi, and Reid rule the roost, they'll cut the military spending by 25% literally rendering the military, and our national security helpless.
I'm sure that will bring our nation serenity.

Let's see Jake........
Information on Wurzelbacher was accessed by accounts assigned to the office of Ohio Attorney General Nancy H. Rogers, the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency and the Toledo Police Department.
Now...the press has been camped out in Joes driveway. So if another government official didn't tap computers for this info, the only others interested, would be the press.
Either way, someone did indeed do it, and for what other reason, then political? You're becoming an absurd joke my dear.
Joe asked a question. Obama's answer drew scrutiny, and Joe is being blamed for it. It is political, and you know it. What I can't figure out is, why you all want a socialist nation so badly? Do you not see what it's done to Venezuela?
You’ll remember that a national media uproar ensued after it was discovered that State Department contractors had snooped through Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain’s passports. (Later, it turned out that the CEO of a company whose employee was involved in Passport-gate was a consultant to the Barack Obama campaign.
Shhh we won't say that last paragraph wasn't political either.

LOL! Blaming Clinton now for the economy? Can you say surplus and no wars? Yet Bush CHOSE to have a two front war and give back the surplus. All of this while increasing spending and decreasing regulation.
Only a mad men start two front wars - only irresponsible idiots don't raise taxes during a war.
I was 100% committed to taking out Al Qaeda but Bush had other ideas like taking out a country that was never a threat to the US.

Stop the lies...

Lies,Lies,Lies... Obama had nothing to do with it. It is public record. And the only thig that was released was the taxes that he owed. Not his S.S. No. or any private info. In Pa. if you donot pay your taxes it is printed in the news paper. And how much you owe.And your name on top of that. So Nazi Repubs try again. KEEP TRYING YOUR MAKING YOURSELF LOOK MORE AND MORE PATHETIC... AND QUITE FRANKLY IT IS MORE AND MORE OF A JOKE. WHICH THE REPUB PARTY HAS ALWAYS BEEN... Greg

Kelli,
How do you suppose we know about his credit rating? What if someone decided they didn't like what you asked them & they decided to looked you up to find out more about you. When an average citizen can't ask a question of a candiate without fear of being mocked is smells of loss of our democracy.
Soon people will be afraid to voice their opinion if it differs from that party in fear of being made a fool of.
Maybe we should look & see why Joe the plumber has a lien, he's recently divorced, maybe his hours are cut at work. I'm sure we've all had things in our lives that we would like to remain private. I quess Joe the plumber has "The Adacity of Hope." Also if you do your homework our demise of our financial problems began with the 106th congress, endorsed by Clinton & Greenspan.

Obama is another one of the great ones who cares about us. Just like Bobby, I fear that some angry person would ever take him away from us when we need him the most. I believe in this man that he will be a phenomenal President and right now, while I watch our family losing everything, I have hope that after this next week it will be the beginning of the changes we so desperately need.

McCain is the one who made Joe the Plumber a household name. He should give Joe one of his houses..well at least one of his cars.
The McCain supporters on here sound pretty bitter. I guess I would be too if my party drove this country down the drain the last 8 years. Pathetic.

Over it: If Obama's not good for the country then I guess two candidates with ethics violations on their record are huh?

Why do democrats feel they can call McCain and Palin names but if you call Obama black your racist. Noone can touch Obama!!!
I find it truly disgusting that anyone would stoop so low as to make up names about anyone else. What's worse is your allowed to vote!!! What's worse than that is some of you are raising children and probably expressing your pure hatred and childlike behavior around them.
Grow up..... Obama is not this Countrys savior.
For the person who made the comment about Clinton. He wasn't either! The only way he got out of his presideny with a budget surplus was because the IRS collected TRILLIONS of dollars from the dotcom boom. Clinton had nothing to do with it. The REPUBLICANS tried for 4 years to have him sign a balanced budget agreement and he wouldn't. When he found out about the money the IRS collected he hurried back to DC to sign the agreement the REPUBLICANS had tried to get him to sign. Then he got on TV and said look what I did America!
Obama is not good for this Country....See I'm being an adult about this, no name calling!!
P.S. kicking people off the board beacause you don't agree with what they say is extremly immature!!!

How many facts must be put before you until you realize that Obama is a fraud?
The lies he has told about Wright (I never heard him speak that way) Ayers (he's just a man that lives down the street) ACORN (I never trained their organizers),the list goes on and on. Obama is laughing himself sick at the fact that he can say and do anything and all of you still follow him. He is leading the sheep to slaughter.

Obamas camp won't talk to a tv station in Florida anymore because they didn't like the questions they were asking Biden.
Obama is preaching transparenecy in Government and when someone makes him mad he shuts them down? That is scary!!!
Fact": when congress was working on the budget Obama voted to RAISE taxes on ANYONE making over $42,000.00 a year??? I thought the Messiah said only people making over $250,000.00 per year? Hmmm....
Fact: John McCain did not vote with president Bush 90% of the time. Here's how it goes folks...... The house hears the bill and votes the senate hears the bill and votes and then it is passed onto the President. Therefore John McCain voted BEFORE the Presidnet saw it. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
Fact: Before this election John McCain was widely praised for not voting along party lines and trying to reform government. He was one of only 5 Senators republican or democrat trying to reform OUR government. Obama never wanted to work with him to reform it.
Hmmmmm......

Are you sure he wanted anonymity? Do you suppose that is why he went on Fox News, the Huckabee show, has been interviewed by numerous right wing talk radio shows, Katie Couric and Diane Sawyers?

Janet, how do you think Joe/Sam the Plumber will secure a business loan for $250,000 with a credit report showing liens against him? I don't think Joe/Sam has thought this through (which doesn't inspire confidence that he will net $250,000 that he is so worried about paying extra taxes on any time soon)

If changing the subject was going to work, the Republicans would have won by now.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
But if someone did something illegal regarding this fine, outstanding, unlicensed, tax-owing, candidate approaching, name changing, "fearful" citizen-plumber, then they should look into it.

There I was, taking money from an ATM, when BHO rolls up, knocks me down and carves a "B" into my cheek. So, vote for McCain or the terrorists will get you and carve a "B" into your cheek.
