Oh, That Joe! (No. 29 in a Series) -- Obama & Biden's Three-Letter Word: J-O-B-S
October 15, 2008 2:40 PM
With the economy floundering, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., told Ohio voters today that he and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., would focus on one specific issue that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., has neglected.
"Look, John's last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S," the Democratic veep nominee said at a morning rally in Athens.
And the Delaware lawmaker added that while McCain and his running mate Gov. Sarah Palin might consider themselves mavericks, Biden has a real one working on his staff.
"Look, John McCain and Sarah Palin call themselves mavericks," said the loquacious Blue Hen. "By the way, a young woman who does all the policy stuff for me, she is literally a member of that, the family."
The senator was referring to his policy director Terrell McSweeney, a member of the Maverick family from the Lone Star State, who is none too happy that McCain and Palin have co-opted her family name.
"You know how that name Maverick came up?" he continued. "It's a Texas ranching family called the Mavericks. Well, she is really a Maverick. I mean, she is -- she is on the bloodline of the Mavericks, but she was explaining that whole thing to me on the bus ride two days ago."
McSweeney, in fact, even has an infant son whose middle name is Maverick.
"Bobby Casey had a great line," Biden said, referring to the Pennsylvania senator. "I wish I'd thought of it. Bobby Casey said you can't call yourself a maverick when all you've been for the last eight years is a sidekick."

Jenny Rome Ga--Maybe you should go to Alaska, work in a union job on the North Slope. You can make $70,000 to $150,000 a year - MBA not necessary.----I was a resident of Alaska for 25 years and worked with business, politicians and individuals.. Salaries there are much higher than small town Georgia. But one must be willing to work very hard and in horrible weather conditions.
Workers in Alaska are tough and determined people.

Palin today claimed New Hampshire was part of the NorthWest and was booed.

I liked and voted for J. F. Kennedy (Dem. Pres.). But today's Dem-Party has far come to the Left from J.F.K. His famous speech "Ask not what your country can do for you, but rather what you can do for your country!" still remains in my mind. Dem. candidate Obama's ideology is the opposite to J.F.K.'s. Obama promised Black people that his Government supports Black people, especially poors, by taking money away from hard-studying successful people. It means you no longer need to study hard and work hard as The Gov. feed you. I wish another J.F.K. comes up again instead of Obama; then I will be Dem. supporter again.

-Jenny Rome GA, I am surprised you are making only $20,000 with two degrees in your background. I was making $60,000 in 1982 without one degree. I later receive a degree. I have more retirement coming in now than your salary. Guess I was just lucky or just made very good personnal decisions about jobs and money.

d0,
I followed Joe Biden to the Obama camp, after voluteering for Joe in Iowa. The only good thing I had to say about Obama was that he did show good judgment by picking Joe as VP. Of course I'd still rather see this ticket with Joe on top, and Obama serving an apprenticeship as VP. However, now giving Obama a chance, he is beginning to grow on me. I have to be pragmatic. Joe said he only agreed to be VP if he would be consulted and have input in decisions.
Obama has carried himself well in the debates so far, and given as good as he got, and we are impressed with his ability to be calm under pressure. (Would love to see Joe and McCain going agaisnt each other too!) McCain was stalking around like Yosemite Sam when his dynamite wouldn't go off at the last debate, so we are greatly curious to see how it goes tonight.

“I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls,” Obama told me. “If I were watching Fox News, I wouldn’t vote for me, right? Because the way I’m portrayed 24/7 is as a freak! I am the latte-sipping, New York Times-reading, Volvo-driving, no-gun-owning, effete, politically correct, arrogant liberal. Who wants somebody like that?
“I guess the point I’m making,” he went on, “is that there is an entire industry now, an entire apparatus, designed to perpetuate this cultural schism, and it’s powerful. People want to know that you’re fighting for them, that you get them. And I actually think I do. But you know, if people are just seeing me in sound bites, they’re not going to discover that. That’s why I say that some of that may have to happen after the election, when they get to know you.”
ROFLMAO!

"formerly for Clinton but can not vote for a socialist."
Hillary Clinton's policies were to the left on Obama's on domestic policy.
So are you saying you won't vote for a socialist but you will vote for someone to the left of a socialist?

Today, Senator Obama stated that he would be several points higher higher if it were not for FOX News. I would like to add that if MSM had told the full truth about Barack Obama, he would be 15% ponts behind. The MSM keeps truth from the voters.
I am an independent voter, formerly for Clinton but can not vote for a socialist.

McCain Campaign Strategy Meeting
Can’t win on domestic policy
Can’t win on international policy
Can’t win on tax policy
Can’t win on medical care policy
Can’t win on financial policy
Can’t win on education policy
Can’t win on credibility (thanks Palin!)
Can’t win on judgment
Can’t win on personality
Can’t win with old war stories
Can’t win with a sarcastic pageant princess
Can’t even win getting mavericky
“Uh, John, lets try name calling. That’s change right? Let’s do something really different and start smearing. That’s what Americans want. That’s what our country needs. I’m good at sarcastic insults as long as they’re written down. And besides, I won’t have to know what I’m talking about if you’ll let me just make accusations!”
“Sarah, I would rather sell my integrity than lose an election. We’re mavericks. Let’s do it!”

Now now why would you vote for Biden and not Obama, when Biden agrees with Obama on nearly everything? go away with your lies you repuke troll!
Posted by: Angie | Oct 15, 2008 4:19:21 PM
---
Since you were only asking repukes to go away, I tell you why:
Biden is fit to be a President.
Zero-bama is unfit to take on that job.

On the very day the headlines read "Palin found guilty of Ethics Violation and Abuse of Power", Palin responds, "I'm glad the report showed I did nothing illegal or unethical".
So is she delusional, dumb, or just a compulsive liar?
Anyone?

Interesting how CANTIDATES for President and Vice President--according the them--have the power to get every unemployed voter a job-but encumbant Presidents do not.
My advice: Have the job in hand BEFORE you cast your vote, or vote McCain. Because these are typical empty promises from Obama-Biden.

The Dow goes down the day of every debate.
Obama-Pelosi-Reid put Country last.
-----------------------
If it goes dowb, as you say, because Obama is debating, I guess you're implying that stockbrokers know Obama will school McCain again?
While your logic is childishly simplistic, thanks for the vote of confidence!
Obama/Biden 4
McCain/Palin 0

All kids should stay in school and get an education.

Good Idea. Tell that to the Palins.

I would like to offer a quote from Sarah Palin's last press conference:
" "
That says it all, doesn't it?
Posted by: Talking Parrot for VP! | Oct 15, 2008 4:36:59 PM
I really like Biden, but J-O-B-S is a four letter word. But at least he's not afraid to talk without a script and Obama actually lets him talk. He doesn't blame the media for his screw ups. He just pulls up his big boy pants and moves on. Palin could take lessons.

The day Obama layed out his Economic plan The Dow surged the highest yet When Bush and Mcbush lay out their plans the Dow sinks wonder why?

Hilarious...
"On Sept. 24, Hillary Rodham Clinton received a surprise phone call from the man she’s often denounced as an economic know-nothing: John McCain."
You know... McCain..
- That one, who called Hillary Lipstick on a pig.
- That one, that made a bad joke on the expense of Chelsea.
- From the party who now blames the financial crisis on Bill for passing the bill.
Good that Hillary didn't take the bait, it's just on big trap to fool Hill.
