Oh, That Joe! (No. 32 in a Series) -- Where's Federico? Is He Here?
October 21, 2008 8:32 PM
Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Tuesday held a campaign rally in Commerce City, Colorado, just north of Denver, a city beloved by his wife Jill.
"At the convention, my wife Jill, who is a wonderful person and she’s doing a great job on the campaign, she’d only been to Denver -- literally through the airport -- a dozen times, and it was the first time she’d gotten to spend any time in Denver," Biden told the crowd of 1,700 at Adams City High School.
"And the second day we’re riding through town, she said, ‘John’ -- she said –'Joe, who's the mayor here? And I told her," Biden said, referencing Mayor John Hickenlooper, in the audience.
"She said, ‘God, he’s doing a good job.’
"It’s a beautiful city you’ve got, John," Biden told the mayor. "Thank you for what you’ve done."
"If my wife moves out, please send her back, will ya?" the loquacious Blue Hen requested of the mayor. "I need her."
Biden changed the subject to Energy Secretary Federico Pena, a former mayor of Denver, also in attendance.
"I also want to thank Federico," Biden said. "Where’s Federico? Is he here?"
"Now he told me, former secretary Pena said, ‘Joe, get up there and feel free to speak Spanish’. I told him I can hardly speak English, so I’m gonna bring up Federico to re-do my speech in Spanish which I’m embarrassed to say I cannot speak Spanish because – and let me tell ya something. Anyway, I won’t tell ya something."
And with that, Biden abruptly stopped his tangent, then proceeded to start into his stump speech.

From Jake's blog yesterday--Newt Gingrich on an Obama Presidency:
In the wake of yesterday's endorsement of Obama by Gen. Colin Powell (Ret.) former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said, "what that just did in one soundbite -- and I assume that soundbite will end up in an ad -- is it eliminated the experience argument."

Joe, take the bs out of the equation. Put it on another conversation...I like the move if it was not choreographed it was tactical...the social, entrepreneurial, economic puzzle podium that the McCain/Palin camp is on is not being heard on the ground and Joe plumber is on the scale of clueless...its really fragile and difficult down here.

Well, I love "Oh, That Joe!" They make me smile, which is a rare quality in political reportage at the business end of a long, long campaign.
Joe's a hoot. Keep 'em coming!

They should have kept Joe under wraps a little longer. THIS is the guy Obama chose to give his campaign gravitas?

Biden is such a good speller.
Three letter word - J O B S.
If that was Palin the MEDIA would have been all over it. Media a bunch of losers.

Again, what is the point of this item?
The step up of attacks on the opposition. Understandable tactic. It's meant to detract from Bidens HUGE gaffe, about an international crisis within the first 6 months of an Obama Presidency.

Again, what is the point of this item?
This "series" started on a theme that hasn't panned out. Get over it. Nothing wrong with Biden. Nothing awesome about him either recently. But not anything worth talking about.

People need to call out the media on this sexist BS.
Not for lack of trying. It seems the msm's are to busy to do real journalism, unbiased, and professional. Kissing Obama Booty is a full time job.
Even though he's going to charge them around $1800 a person, to attend and cover his big election night party. Oh, and another $900 to have access for interviews. They'll pay it. It is for the Messiah. I sure hope there's entertainment. Like walking on water, or turning $700 billion into a trillion for his new spending.

Biden is such an incompetent, unqualified, dumb, fool.

Can you IMAGINE what would be said about Sarah Palin if she said what Joe said?
She'd be called stupid, ridiculous, air-headed, slow, etc...
So why does everyone think it's okay since Joe says this nonsense?
I'm not a fan of Palin, but I know what is fair and what is not fair. She gets hammered for every little thing while Joe gets away with being a complete dufas.
People need to call out the media on this sexist BS.

"loquacious Blue Hen" was a pretty cool turn of a phrase the first few hundred times.

Someone in the Obama campaign needs to find a roll of Duct tape for Ol' Joe's mouth...

Is this why they won't let him talk to his press corps for the last two months?

Thank God for Joe!
Keep up the good work...
