I hope the voters send this Palin caricature packing back to Alaska soon.

So if someone suspects you of wrong doing and they "investigate" and they are the prosecution. Do you have legal counsil representing you???

I do not know the answer to this and am just curious.

We have here is a report done by the prosecution. Did she get to defend herself?

I ask because then anybody could "investigate" and write a "report" about anybody and the findings would be etched in stone.

It just doesn't seem right.

Glad to see coverage of this issue.

I'm realizing it's pretty complicated though--probably needs a lengthy segment to really get into it...

Thought the point about her parsing the report was very clear.

I am absolutely amazed and even disappointed over the comments on this website. I did not think there really was that many liberal left wing whackos out there. But obviously I was wrong. Most of the comments prove that they really do not know what they are talking about. They only vote for Obama because he represents change. Yes, he does represent change alright. change to a nation that is as close to the Weimer Republic as is possible. The Weimer Republic led to the rise of the Hitler National Socialism. How easily one can sell out morals simply for change. Most if not all of you can and do support killing of babies just to obtain change. I could point out numerous examples of how far left you have become....as one commentator pointed out - ACORN is so far left that even some Democrats will not join in.

The ogress does what ogresses can -
deeds quite impossible for man.
Appeals to housewives and to mothers -
girlish tone provides her cover
for viciousness beyond the pale
(could sound too nasty from a male!)
To a cowed and stupid crowd
her libel rings out shrill and loud.
Her garbled speech is hateful drivel;
I soon expect her head to swivel.
I'd like to think that we're above it,
That voters will tell her to shove it.

Call it lying or call it parsing, Palin's nose is growing by the minute.

The fact conservative posters want to talk about Kenya, Tonga, Ayres, Wright, etc.., etc.. in the midst of the worst economic crisis in 80 years proves to me that they, like McCain, are out of touch..

Posted by: indy_voter | Oct 13, 2008 1:31:37 PM

yes, and everyone laughed along with john mccain about it. shameful
but the clinton' are different, aren't they? chelsea clinton is not just a young lady, like everyone elses daugthers her age, she is bill and hillary clinton' daughter, and they are not human, with feelings, so chelsea is not human either, therefore, they are fair game for mccain and anyone else who wants to say anything about them?
they show how much better everyone else is. right?
everyone talks about obama has no history, mccain' personality, and the way he has always talked to people, hitting people in the senate, mccain should not be POTUS. He is not ready. and sarah palin surely is not.

So before sycophants start trying to insinuate that Obama supports terrorists in Kenya, perhaps they should do their own research instead of relying on Drudge, Fox and the Washington Times.

First of all, the right wing loons at the Washington Times mis-characterize everything about the 2007 elections in Kenya. Kibaki was said to win by 230K votes even though exit polls had Odinga up by 8%. Odinga cried fraud at the polls which has been widely confirmed by international observers.

Second of all, what the fringe Washington Times doesn't tell you is that the day before those 50 people were killed, at least 100 people were killed who supported Odinga. Kenya was swept up in violence on both sides until the UN finally brokered a power sharing deal between the two parties.

There is much more history behind Kenya's elections than the single incident cited by the Wash Times. Look into it yourself.

Please, Angie, leave the families out of this. The last time a daughter as young as Palin's was thrust into this kind of negative joke telling spotlight was when John McCain told the joke about teenage Chelsea Clinton being Janet Reno's daughter.

Posted by: ricky | Oct 13, 2008 12:40:35 PM

I would personally link to the Tongan conspiracy If I could but Jake and the MSM bias machine Obama terorist lovers under the umbrella of job creation would hide it in their little acorn stash. BET YOU LIBRULS DON'T KNOW WHO THE KING OF TONGA IS AND HIS NEFARIOUS CONNECTIONS TO BILL aryan. So there.

Posted by: ricky | Oct 13, 2008 12:31:55 PM

The woman is delusional!

Posted by: hang | Oct 13, 2008 12:31:41 PM

Re: The Kenyan story Jill posted a link to.

It has at least one factual error: Odinga is _not_ Obama's cousin. That has already come up and been proven wrong. Snopes has an article on that issue.

What other lies are in the story...?

Posted by: Majus | Oct 13, 2008 12:17:45 PM

So Palins Pregnant daughter the father of the baby HAS DROPPED OUT OF SCHOOL! NICE apparently Palin supports teenage pregnancy and kids dropping out of school GOD PLEASE SEND THIS WOMAN BACK TO ALASKA!!!!

Posted by: angie | Oct 13, 2008 12:16:52 PM

Captain America thinks everyone (except Fox, Drudge and Kristol) is in the tank for Obama.

It's not ABC who's in the tank, it's the American people who may be in the tank for Obama (by at least 10 points according to most polls).

If anyone, ABC has been the Lynne Sweet of the major networks.

BREAKING NEWS

Tina Fey On Sarah Palin:

"If She Wins...I'm Leaving Earth"

Posted by: sugar | Oct 13, 2008 12:10:10 PM

Palin's lies are not like most political lies. They are not spin or vagueness or misdirection or clever use of words. They are simply statements that what has been empirically shown to be true is false, or vice-versa. They are denials of basic reality. They are a function of some kind of psychological detachment from reality.

She either has a serious psychiatric problem or her mindset makes Bush's funamentalist psyche seem positively flexible.

In either case, her presence on the ticket simply makes a vote for McCain unacceptable. She should be a deal-breaker for any rational person.

Posted by: andrew | Oct 13, 2008 12:07:25 PM

IT'S BECAUSE SHE CAN'T READ TOO GOOD!

Posted by: Joe | Oct 13, 2008 12:05:36 PM

Oh one more thing Jake can you Educate your bloggers on the AIG Alaskin Independent party that first dude belonged to and how those Alaskins HATE AMERICA And the Gov told them to keep up the good work and helped raise money for them! seems the Media wont report on this either!

Posted by: angie | Oct 13, 2008 12:03:13 PM

Thanks Jake it seems all the other news Media only want to talk about Obama and Ayers and Obamas race but Nothing about corrupt Palin goood job Jake!

Posted by: angie | Oct 13, 2008 12:00:34 PM

I love how when you put proof infront of the republicans, they can find ways to read it totally different than anyone else.

Yes, she was within her rights to fire a cabinet member.

No, she could not do that because the cabinet member would not carry out their personal vendetta against a trooper.

As soon as she allowed Todd to use her office to discuss firing Wooten, and she used personal emails copying Todd about the incident she went outside the bounds of ethics.

She could possibly have a lot more power than she had in Alaska if McCain is elected. We have already seen what happens when one President and Vice President has gotten power hungy. (Patriot Act, illegal wire tapping, etc.)Do we really want anyone else like that?

Posted by: Mack | Oct 13, 2008 11:59:04 AM

I bet you any amount of money the republicans will cry REVOTE after election they will try to spin this watch!

Whoever thinks Palin is the right
person for the nation, has to rethink
again, not once, not twice but several times.

Obama/Biden is pulling away more every day...

McLoser/Phailin

Posted by: wOmen for Obama | Oct 13, 2008 11:50:23 AM

We are watching the curious views of Good Morning America....but

We are the ones who know better than to believe ABC as it is in the tank for Obama.

Posted by: Captain America | Oct 13, 2008 11:46:26 AM

Kellie,

Is there a C option, both?

Maybe instead of the saying "I reject your reality and substitute my own." Palin's in "I reject your truth and substitute my own." How dumb does the McCain campaign think we are?

Ann, try checking factcheck.org. He went to Kenya to support AIDS testing and Odinga happened to be on stage at a rally.

Posted by: Mack | Oct 13, 2008 11:45:38 AM

If, this info had come out on Obama or Biden, you can BET the Republicans would be calling for them to bow out! BUT, then again why should this be ANY different than, the past eight years. Palin needs to go, and Senator McCain, you have shown this country that you have poor judgment, in picking such a unqualified running mate!

Posted by: anita | Oct 13, 2008 11:43:26 AM

Looks like Palin and McCain can cut back on the lies since she has people like Ann to tell them for her.

Posted by: JR | Oct 13, 2008 11:43:25 AM

Does any of the news people actually read anything anymore these days or do they only here what they want to? I mean come on! the report said that ethically the only thing she did wrong was not putting more pressure on her husband to stop what he was doing. What happend to FAIR AND BALANCED reporting? Oh I know! It's over on FOX NEWS!!!!!!!!
Why don't you report on something worth rreporting on like Obama's 95% Illusion that the wall street journal just put out so the American people can really see his plan for the Economy!

Posted by: Christopher | Oct 13, 2008 11:43:19 AM

Jake... excellent report.

Thanks for not letting her spin her way out of this... people should know how she governs, and this is just one example of her clueless ways.

Now please don't let this get swept under the carpet.... the next up, is waiting to see how the personnel board will clear her of any wrongdoing.

You know they will clear her, because these are the people that Palin can fire at will with no reason, and they do not want to lose their jobs..

But again thanks Jake, for a great report

Posted by: lmg | Oct 13, 2008 11:43:05 AM

Ann, this IS a real issue. Gov Palin is running on a platform for reform, yet she herself is found guilty of abusing her power. This is an ethics violation according to a bipartisan group, consisting of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats. She herself had agreed to this before she was thrust into that national spotlight. For her to call this a partisan investigation now is disingenuous and smacks of politics. She is only an outsider by her lack of experience and geography, but her behavior smacks of a savvy politician who knows how to manipulate the system for her gains. If Obama was guilty of all the things you want to believe, then he would have most definitely been investigated in the last 2 years. None of the so-called issues you raise about him are unknown, and investigators have had 20 months to look into them. Support the McCain/Palin ticket if you must, but do it with your eyes open. Know the pros and cons of whoever you support.

Registering voters is a good thing ACORN has registered 1.3mil new voters 60% Democrat and 40% republican the RNC website even admits that !

This is a fake concern registering multiple times doesnt mean a thing other than wasting ACORN's money and the Elections office's time. They still only get one vote! Its a fake concern for political perpuse!

The BBC did a really good piece on the truth about ACORN saying that:

ACORN IS THE SMOKE SCREEN FOR THE REPUBLICAN PARTY... KNOWING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE RATHER THAN ADMIT THAT THEY HAVE BAD POLICIES AND IDEAS THEY INTEND TO BLAME IT ON ACORN...

SHOULD THE ELECTION BE CLOSE THE REPUBLICAN PARTY WILL TRY TO USE THE COURTS TO ELECT THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES INTO OFFICE...

THIS IS THE GAME PLAN FOX IS SETTING THE GROUND WORK!

Posted by: Kellie | Oct 13, 2008 11:36:21 AM

She is not capable of telling the truth.. she has been telling one lie after the other since the RNC.

Why was her husband copied emails on government business and allowed to sit on closed door board meetings?

Why did she use private yahoo accounts to do official business?

And why was her and her husband members of the AIP?

This woman is a walking joke and should be sent back to moose country, they elected her, they can keep her.

Ann,
Give us confused delusions, like those you are expressing. Have you considered rehab?
Meanwhile, my 401k is melting and you idiots want to enjage in slander?
Annenberg is a respectable educational reform foundation with well known Republicans, independents and Democrats participating.

Posted by: John | Oct 13, 2008 11:35:31 AM

time to ignore her...

time to all gather around and start talking about the economy

preferably with the team that will be president

and I would guess his advisors which will include McCain...

but I am pretty sure not Palin.

Ann

The story you are pushing is false!

Mark Hyman is a news commentator for Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.

Mark Hyman is a swiftboater!

The piece you posted cant be trusted!

Ainclar has a history of being deceptive and anti democrat:

Sinclair gained further notoriety by ordering its 62 local stations to preempt prime time programming to broadcast an anti-Kerry film just before the November 2, 2004 general election.

Titled "Stolen Honor: Wounds That Never Heal," the film is produced by Carlton Sherwood, a former associate of Tom Ridge.

The anti-Kerry organization, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, cross-promoted the film as part of a $1.4 million advertising campaign

Sinclair's order to broadcast the film prompted criticism from Jon Leiberman, Sinclair's lead political reporter. "It's biased political propaganda, with clear intentions to sway this election," Leiberman said. "I have nothing to gain here -- and really, I have a lot to lose," he said. "At the end of the day, though, all you really have is your credibility." [8] Leiberman was fired within a few hours of making those comments.

In a later commentary column, Leiberman explained that when he was promoted to start Sinclair’s Washington bureau he discovered the pressure to supply pro-administration news. "It started with the politically charged commentaries of Mark Hyman, in nearly every newscast. Then newsroom leaders (at the encouragement of Hyman) started suggesting pro-administration story ideas. They made sure that every political story had a comment from the Bush administration, and went out of their way to get it. But they didn't ever balance the stories with the Democratic response," he wrote in Broadcasting and Cable.
