Rendell Gives Obama Some Diet Advice

October 11, 2008 9:43 AM

At a fundraiser Friday night at Philadelphia's Sheraton City Center, the Garden State's finest -- Jon Bon Jovi -- warmed up the crowd.

Soon however JBJ and crew were replaced by Keystone State Gov. Ed Rendell, who poked fun at his primary support for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y.

"People are always asking me, why do I like Barack Obama so much?" he said. "Since June I've had an answer."

Added Rendell, "Perhaps the only thing I don't like about him is he's too thin."

The stocky governor suggested that Obama should eat a cheesesteak from Pat's every day.

Obama contemplated that idea when he took the stage.

"A cheesesteak, once a day," Obama said, "and I will have the pleasure of looking like Ed Rendell."

UPDATE: ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports that in Northeast Philly just now outside the Mayfair Diner, Obama -- accompanied by Rendell -- said, "I'm gonna grab some pie here too. Because Rendell told me I need to fatten up. Rendell gave me a gift certificate for a year long of Philly cheesesteaks."

Showing some knowledge of the Passayunk Avenue cheesesteak wars, Obama said, "It was Pat's right? It was Pat's. I didn't want to get into a Geno's- Pat's argument."

how dare Obama not eat more cheesecake?
doesnt he know its the patriotic thing to do = the onlything worth doing. Ten out of the last 16 American Presidents loved cheesecaake. The only was I would vote for Obama is if he puts in a good word for cheesecake in h is next and last debate with Senator McCain. In fact, there should eb a cheesecake eating contest at the next debate. The one who eate more cheesakes becomes our President. Let's see how the cookie crumbles.

Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald has already stated: "There is no allegation or evidence of any wrong doing on Barack Obama's part."

In an Obamanation, only outlaws will have cheesesteaks.

OTown: What about his half-brother in Kenya? You got it, he has no respect for anyone but himself. Didn't he mention his mom being on food stamps?
If he could buy a mansion, why didn't he help his mother and now why doesn't he help his brother? But, he feels our pain...know folks can't wait to get their earned income credit check..ha

It's hard to keep any weight on, and not look like a 98 lb. weakling, when all you eat are sprouts. Honestly, the picture of Obama looking like a wimp in his little bicycle outfit and goofy helmet has got to be heartwarming to our enemies. Barney Fife is a more imposing sight than Obama.

PA was smart enough not to go for bush/cheney in 2000 and 2004, so I'm sure that PA will be smart enough to go for Obama/Biden in 2008.
