The Brown Bomber
October 12, 2008 2:15 PM
"The kind of comments made by Congressman Lewis, a big Obama supporter, are reprehensible," said Rick Davis, the campaign manager for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Fox News Sunday. "Barack Obama should apologize to John McCain directly for the kinds of comments made by Joe -- John Lewis yesterday, and that should be the end of this sordid affair."

American voter,
I-N-D-U-S-T-R-I-A-L.
By the way this is the post industrial age of technology, looking FORWARD to the age of the new frontier, which is renewable ENERGY and the ENVIRONMENT.
That is one of the main problems with the Republican platform. They are consistently looking backwards.
That is why they keep talking about "washed up" Vietnam era protesters.
Without a vision, the people perish.

It has taken me a while to grasp this simple concept: there are many social groups in this country that can not always be counted on as a whole to vote as one. On the other hand, the group of about 40 million people who proudly call themselves what Bristol Palin's boyfriend says he is proud to be, will likely all vote as a block. It is this unique property that makes them so valuable to the republicans; convince just a few and the rest will follow like sheep. It was this fact that convinced GW Bush that all he had to do was manipulate the Evangelicial movement into believing his dedication to their movement, and he would take the white house. He was right, but now we know what GW Bush really thinks of the Joe-Six-Pack crowd. McCain also needs these folks to win this election. I think that this is why he appears so erratic of late. You would be erratic too if your because your stupid errors, your campaign found itself forced to get up, and repeat over and over again such statements. Statements, that about 80 percent of the population know are idiotic lies. But for his target group, facts mean very little. Because as long as they hear what they already believe, all is well. Even John McCain, could not have anticipated how effective he would be at stirring up this mob. Now, that the secret service has entered the picture to investigate whether or not something he or "that women" said caused a threat to be made, I would imagine that John McCain finally got the message that picking on people who haven't got a clue was not working. For, not only was it NOT changing any of their votes (remember they've already have made up their minds), but it was actually costing him net votes among decent republicans.

To Aussie,
You MISSED my point!
I said I BELIEVE in the FREE Market.
NEVER SOCIALIZED system that you referred to. I don't even want that UNIVERSAL Health Care that you alluded to, either. NADA...
I am a CAPITALIST/Entrepreneur/INIDUSTRIALIST!

While you're at it, Tapper, why not post some footage of Muhammed Ali?
African American, Arabic name, somewhat nutty religious mentor, accused by right wingers of being unpatriotic and sympathizing with America's enemies...

To bald eagle,
You STOLE my lines!
That's VERY GOOD. I forgot about that wheelchair episode!

The only "sordid affair" taking place is Palin essentially calling Obama a terrorist sympathizer and inciting hateful speech at her and McCain's rallies. It's despicable.

To coca cola,
Are you sure you are not drinking Cool-aid?
My McCain/Palin sign was destroyed in front of my house! Yet the Obama sign was intact. I wondered why?

So in other words, omg, you really DON'T know other than the slogans ('hope', 'change', 'yes we can')? Or you can't point to anything Obama's ever done that people can verify and evaluate? All you have is your touching but somewhat pathetic faith in the "O" Man.
"so i guess you will just have to go down with the titanic express.
but here is a lifeline, go to cspan and listen to joe."
Yeah, let's see if there are any new Neil Kinnock speeches he's plagiarizing this week, or if he's proclaiming anyone else "articulate, bright and clean," or telling any paraplegics "stand up so they can see ya!" That should be really inspiring.

Hey Mary, while your defending McCain and saying the he never called Obama a terrorist, check out the head line on the other ABC blog, "VA GOP Chief Compares Obama to Osama"
You neo-con hold Obama responsible for everything said in his name, well hold McCain responsible for the lies said in his name.

To omg,
Yes... I have listened to Joe in my life time. Actually, when he first elected to the Senate. Not IMPRESSED.
If you believe in Joe, then you should remember HOW he told the story of his wife death?
The DRUNK truck driver killed his wife and daughter!
I am PATIENT to hear WHAT YOU have to say since you are the torch bearer for them. So go ahead, just delineate a few lines would be OK.

While an opportunity to watch clips of the great Joe Louis is always welcome, you can count me as one of the posters here who don't quite get the connection between the video and this story.
"Louis/Lewis"
Both African Americans adept at laying the smack down on white guys?

Voter in America - Jock is right. It was NOT the prosecutor. It was the Attorney General and others who violated the law which allowed Ayers to get off. You're blaming the wrong person by saying it was the Prosecutor. Not to miss the point though, I agree that Ayers should have been sent to jail. BTW the Democrats are not going to "steal" the election. Bush and the neocon right wing, whom McCain is pandering to, have alienated the majority of the country. I live in North Carolina. I am a white woman and I can tell you I do not know ANYONE who is voting for McCain and I know a lot of people. Everyone I know or see out is supporting Obama. I see Obama yard signs, bumper stickers, and t-shirts everywhere I go. I have yet to see anything supporting McCain (well, I did see one bumper sticker driving to the beach). The majority of Americans see that the Republican party no longer represents the ideals it once stood for.

Jake, did you miss the entire FOX news interview? Davis was asked about the crowds at the Palin ralliles and used this as a diversion to avoid giving an answer.
Davis also hilariously said "where was John McCain while Wallace was spewing his hate? He was in a POW camp..."
Of course Wallace's "segregation today,,,segregation tomorrow...segregation forever" line was from his 1962 speech, four years before McCain was shot down...

To Aussie,
You are ENTITLED to your opinion.
BTW, my gov't is NOT a SOCIOLIST gov't yet! I am AGAINST all the "bailouts"
I believe in Free Market Society.
At this point my Gov't is "subsiding" the banks and insurance companies, which I totally OPPOSED.

The prosecutor represents the government, but it is not his fault that the government had previously violated people's rights.
The only point I am making is that the "technicality" that Ayers got off on was not a "little" one.

CNN Fact Check: Is Obama 'palling around with terrorists'?
The Statement: Republican vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin said Saturday, October 4, that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is "someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect that he's palling around with terrorists who would target their own country."
Verdict: False. There is no indication that Ayers and Obama are now "palling around," or that they have had an ongoing relationship in the past three years. Also, there is nothing to suggest that Ayers is now involved in terrorist activity or that other Obama associates are.
