The Eyes Have It

October 18, 2008 1:20 PM

The Virginia Republican Party -- chaired by the same man who recently said of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., and Osama bin Laden, "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon. That is scary" -- has sent out a mailer that seems to take that comparison a step further.

"In today's dangerous world, appeasement is not a foreign policy," says the front of the mailer.

Inside: pictures of Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinijad, North Korea's Kim Jong-Il, Russia's Vladimir Putin, and Venezuela's Hugo Chavez, with the text: "America must face the threat of terror head-on."

On the back of the envelope is a close-up of someone's eyes and the caption: "America must look evil in the eye and never flinch."

At first blush, the eyes might look to you like Obama's. But as the liberal website BradBlog points out, the person's skin has been darkened. The eyes are actually Osama bin Laden's.

Check it out for yourself HERE.

What do you think of this?

Doesn't look like Obama at all - nor does it look like bin Ladin to me. It looks like the main Sept. 11th hijacker - can't think of his name offhand.

Mcain lacks integrity

Actually, Obama has raised his own campaign money. It's McCain that's spending "your hard earned shekels" to "spread his kind of dirt". He and Palin are not mavericks, they are desperados!!

And B O is closing in on spending about $2,000,000 of your hard earned shekels to spread his kind of dirt.

That's about four times the fire-ing power of McCain's coffers..

So, I don't feel sorry for B O at all!

And should he win, the rest of us will have plenty of swill in hand to remind you that "WE TOLD YOU SO!"

I guess you think Obama should just let these attacks just go? I have never been so disgusted in my years of voting that I have this year. For McCain and Palin and these other elected officials to be saying these kinds of things is appalling.

Maryjane, Alaska is unique. Each resident of Alaska (minimum one year residency) receives an annual revenue check. This is part of a program that was implemented through an amendment to the Alaska State Constitution shortly after the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System went online (1977).

Just more poison in the well.

DO YOU THINK THAT THOSE LITTLE ACORNS GLEANING VOTER REGISTRATION RECORDS....

WEREN'T PUSHING obama as the candidate of choice?

Aside from their being overzealous and signing up the same people countless times, they were doing the exact same publicity stunt as these mailouts!

In fact the mailers were certainly more democratic! They were not required to be completed under the watchful eyes of
people paid by O N E candidate.... B O!

As for the eyes on the mailer.... they just looked like eyes!

sandra:

Don't worry about the truths and accusations concerning Obama which many people have been saying... and writing....

They are at least TRUE for the most part;

The hateful misinformation Obama
encourages to be spread about McCain and Palin and Cindy McCain and other members of both families, is a lot meaner... true dirty pool!

And B O is closing in on spending about $2,000,000 of your hard earned shekels to spread his kind of dirt.

That's about four times the fire-ing power of McCain's coffers..

What do I think of this? I don't think it's worth dignifying with a comment really, it's just pathetic.

People knew what Obama said and it was not said like McCain would like us to believeBesides his VP is doing the same in Alaska taking from the wealthy oil companies and giving to the Alaskan people. I have family up in Talkeetna Alaska or should say did have They luved up their for over 35 years and loved it,A sister. When I have been up there I noticed that Alaskans help each other .They will use the barter system to help each other and from what I have seen are for the most part the friendliest people I have encountered. That said Palins gives to the Alaskan people form taxes raised by the oil companies and the oil companies than charge everyone more for their products, not just Alaskans but all of us.So her Spreading the wealt talk is a joke and a farce

Everytime these nitwit Republicans look in the mirror they look evil in the eye. Whether or not they flinch, I can't say.

Sandra, while I don't know you or about you personally, the following is meant to be generic in nature. Isn't it hypocritical for the left to spend 8 years bashing President Bush, calling him a liar, the world's greatest terrorist, comparing him to Hitler, saying he has destroyed the U. S. Constitution, calling him a crackhead, and then actually expect those on the right to just accept "The One" as the messiah?

Posted by: James Danley | Oct 18, 2008 5:09:25 PM

I think Republicans are vile racists, and that includes John McCain.

John McCain is now a man completely devoid of character or integrity. Sad.

Posted by: Lori in AZ | Oct 18, 2008 4:55:43 PM

Will McCain repudiate the Obama/Osama comparison made by Jeffrey Frederick when he appears with him today in Virginia?

I'm not holding my breath.

I have a very serious question for the McCain supporters. It's clearly a distinct possibility that Obama is going to win the election and come January he's going to be YOUR PRESIDENT. How are you going to handle that after some of the personal and mean spirited attacks on him as un-American, or anti-American or terrorist or whatever. You may well have this man as your president and you might want to think about dealing with that, you will support your president won't you? That is, after all, the patriotic thing to do. So be careful what words you say, you may be eating them soon.

Posted by: Sandra | Oct 18, 2008 4:31:19 PM

Not sure how McCain can get back his honor after this election is over. It's really sad.

I really liked him and voted for him in 2000.

Like McCain himself said years ago, all these people have a place in hell. They are not cristians, that is why Palin feels at home. She and her pastor the witch hunter are praying to see if people will listen to this trash. But we Americans do not listen to liers and nasty people.

No, what's scary is that someone who is supposed to be intelligent, can't tell the differenc between a "friend" and someone you work with. They actually think that the majority of people are going to fall for their scare tactics again. Quite frankly, I find it more comforting that Obama is able to work with people no matter what their past, present or religious beliefs. Isn't that what a president is supposed to do? Separate his own beliefs from those that he's required to work with and for.And still maintain a respectable leadership while working with govenments who are potentially hostile. There's a big difference between working with a washed up terrorist and a country that harbors terrorists. Shouldn't that be the question. Who is more qualified? Watching the republican circus, no wonder the world has rallied around Obama. He's the only hope we have of saving face.

Posted by: Bea | Oct 18, 2008 3:31:03 PM

If the Republicans sink any lower, they'll end up in China, with all our country's loans!!!

Thankfully, all this will be over in just over two weeks. No more lies from McShame and Sarah Failin' can go back to Alaska --where maybe they'll hold a recall election to send her back to Wasilla!!

Obama/Biden 08

This is all the republican party has to offer .....Crap and more crap I hope it all back fires in their face.
