VA GOP Chief Compares Obama to Osama

October 12, 2008 3:52 PM

Time's Karen Tumulty spent some time in Virginia this week covering the ground game in that battleground state,  and happened upon an interesting little scene.

In McCain's Gainesville, Va., office, Virginia Republican Party Chairman Jeff Frederick, standing on a folding chair, spoke to 30 campaign volunteers who were about to go canvassing door to door.

He gave them "talking points," Tumulty writes, "for instance, the connection between Barack Obama and Osama bin Laden."

Said Frederick: "Both have friends that bombed the Pentagon," in a reference to Obama acquaintance William Ayers. "That is scary."

Added a woman: "And he won't salute the flag."

(Not true.)

Offered a male volunteer: "We don't even know where Senator Obama was really born."

(Also not true.)

Jake,

Are you saying that you have first-hand, personal knowledge of where Obama was born?

Explain your first-hand knowledge.

Mr Frederick is a nitwit, unfortunately for him and those around him... a fearful man with a narrow perspective. Move on, next news story.....

Palin opened the series of blistering assaults by accusing Obama of "palling around with terrorists."

On Sunday, one man shouted out "Obama loves terrorists" as Palin talked about "the bad guys."

But as the polls showed Obama widening his lead, the Republicans apparently decided the tactic had proven fruitless and shifted course back to vows to revamp Washington, blaming politicians and greedy Wall Street executives for the worst financial crisis to face the country in 80 years.

If only Obama wore a flag pin at ALL TIMES. Then he's be presidential.
If only Obama had no friends or aquaintances atall, then I could vote for him. If only Obama had a different name, then I could vote for him. Too bad, I'll have to vote for McCain, who will make my health insurance more expensive and more confusing to choose, who will continue to funnel my tax money up up up to the 'good' rich people who will trickle it down upon us, perhaps? Yes, I am stuck with the same strategies of the past eight years, just because of a name and a lapel pin and friendships with people who no longer matter.

MCcain---iacs!!!

just so you know that you didnt' get the call from mccain to let you know the new strategy you are supposed to blindly follow for him, a little more on this

This just goes to show you that the liberals would rather burn America for power than to actually vote the country first.

Truely pathetic!

I am so glad that it is liberals that are for abortion.

If McCane has an ounce of self-respect left, he will render a public apology to the American People - Republicans and Democrats - for the racist hate-filled dangerous divisive demagoguery of his campaign.

The McCain we see on the campaign trail is not the McCain that many once admired if not for any other reason, his service in the US Armed Forces and the years of his life he had to sacrifice as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. My Republican friends are saddened by the fact that McCain in a desperate attempt to win the presidential election at all costs, irrevocably tarnish his own reputation and legacy. I personally don't think that there is much of reputation to tarnish - other than perhaps the carefully crafted public persona McCain has created for himself. The reality, given his ties to criminals like Gordon Liddy (of Watergate notoriety, an advocate of domestic terrorism), his cosy relationship with Cuban terrorists, and his and his wife Cindy McCain's intimate connections with organized crime, is much uglier.

As for Sarah Pallin, David Brooks, a dyed-in-the-wool Bill Buckleyite conservative is right on the mark when he called Sarah Palin "a fatal cancer to the Republican Party". In other words, the Republican party has a deadly case of SARAH PALINOMA.

If the Republican Party does not want to lose all those decent Republicans who are getting disgusted with McCane-Palin candidacy, it needs to denounce the McCain-Palin candidacy and focus on tough task ahead - that of rebuilding the Republican Party on the principles thatthe great Republican luminaries Abraham Lincoln stood for.

Mayor Daley of Chicago says that Obama and Ayers are friends so what. Why didn't Obama show americans the courtesy of an answer like that 1 1/2 years ago. No, he would rather lie to us for 1 1/2 years and incrementally change his story when his lies are exposed. Obama promised change, but delivered the same old coverup we get time and time from Washington.

I saw Obama when the national anthem was being played and he looked board and he didn't place his hand over his heart. Everytime I hear the star spangled banner, I get a surge of emotion. I would hope that a potential future president would feel something other than boredom when the national anthem plays.

Wow, LeeLee. I give - you win. I hope you vote absentee for your own sake. Please, before you do though, take a look at any current electoral map projection. Then remember, your vote counts only once. Thank goodness.

"Talking about picking friends huh. How about looking up John McCain's buddy - Jack Abramoff. Way to rip off the original 'Americans'"

Yeah, how 'bout that? Nothing like that guy Ayers though. That guy really "blows" me away! :D

By the way, you do know that 3 of the Keating Five have endorsed your Messiah, The Tainted One, right?

ROFLMAO!!!

Considering Obama’s commanding lead in the polls, I guess the short sellers in the stock market are pricing in Obama’s victory. We have 20+ day before the election. Dear Dow, welcome to 1,000 level!

Yeah, I did the comparision check between Obama's life and McCain's life.

Not even a contest, Obama has no senatorial records (he says they are lost), medical records, educational records and no real birth certificate.

Nope, not even close.

Voting for McCain - with or without Palin.

I must say I find this all hard to believe...That democrats are so so very desperate to get a dem in the white house that they will overlook all the underlying questions that Obama just sweeps under the rug...Let me give you all facts...Obama is friends with bill Ayers who is a known domestic terrorist..Was involved with Tony Rezco a convicted Felon which also helped Obama do some shady dealing to get his big fancy house in Hyde Park who just happens to be in the same neighborhood as Ayers Rezco Wright who was Obamas Pastor for 20 years who preached words of hate and louis Farrakhan who and I quote called Obama the Messiah...Have ya ever noticed that the only time Obama denounces any one is when it could hurt his political career??? Are you democrats that desperate to have control ? I am neither a Rep. Or Dem. I vote the best choice. And clearly McCain in this case is the best choice. You see if Obama can show such poor judgement in choosing his friends such as Ayers, Wright, Rezco who would he choose to be friends with if he were President??? Obama says he thought Ayers was rehabilated (sp) is he gonna think Bin Laden and the Taliban are too?? And I am sick of the democrats calling The Race Card anytime someone questions Obama there is nothing racial about asking questions and wanting REAL ANSWERS>not half truths as Obama is famous for telling. And the latest shady thing in his background is ACORN ...Voter fraud...at first Obama camp said he had nothing to do with Acorn then as Media learned He was once a lawyer for Acorn Trained for Acorn and his Campaign gave them 800,000... all he does is lie it is sick and you all believe it...ask a chicago person when he was running for office there he promised lower taxes THEY GOT HIGHER TAXES .Think about it all then make your choice .I just hope you all wake up befor it is too late. I will take McCains record anyday at least when the Keating thing happened he was TRUTHFUL and by the way was cleared of any wrong doing by a Democrat.Obama is not truthful and to me that says alot....

That's ok. Hillary is a woman of her word. She promised she would campaign for the party and she is.

Meanwhile, her supporters know what's up and we will vote accordingly. :D

Hey LeeLee07... better you read Rolling Stone than listen to Rush Limbaugh... as you recall he, like Cindy McCain, has a problem with abusing prescription drugs. His choice, as you remember, was Oxycontin (and Viagra, I believe)...

Yada, yada, yada. Troopergate is over and Sarah won't get impeached. Lololol.

Meanwhile, that judge is still waiting to see Obama's birth certificate!

What is the problem, Fact Check won't let it go????
