Will McCain-Palin Be Keystoned?
October 13, 2008 6:16 PM
The Morning Call/Muhlenberg College tracking poll of Pennsylvania voters has bad news for the GOP ticket.
Not only is Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in the lead, but Sen. John McCain's unfavorables (42%) are higher than his favorables (40%).
Same with Gov. Sarah Palin (43% unfavorable, 41% favorable).
For Obama (fave 50%, unfave 35%) and Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., (fave 51%, unfave 28%) the news is a bit better.
The Obama campaign says they cannot envision a real path to the nomination for McCain without the Republican winning Pennsylvania.
But, as I said earlier today, three weeks is a lifetime in politics.

"Enough with the Roman Empire already. Obama is accountable for himself"....
Yes, Bea. Indeed he is!
So why is he so scared of acknowledging the depth of his associations with these people.... even after the proof of the pudding (and of his past) is placed on a platter in front of his skinny face!
Whe that happens, what does Obama do?
Why he hits the denial button and tosses them al under the bus... like he did Jeremiah the second time around, and Rezko (who brought him B I G bucks), and his "typical white Grandmother"... the one who raised him, and, now Ayers.
Have any of you heard how Obama won his elections in Illinois?
Not one of them was "clean".....
An addendum:
Thank you Mary, for doing your homework ;-)

Jake,
You are right, three weeks is a lifetime in politics. And when the good people of Pennsylvania get a closer look at Obama's economic policy as outlined in today's speech, I think they may well have second thoughts about supporting him. hopefully they will also get a chance to think about his energy policy (a democratic congress will reverse the offshore drilling policy yet again, reverting to no drilling; Obama is against nuclear energy and has made contradictory statements about clean coal that will doubtless morph back into 'no no no' once the election is over).

So I guess only really old people have experience. Sometimes it's not about what a person has done, but the possibilities of what they can do. And just think, it's not going to take him 40 years to accomplish something really big. And unlike Bush, I bet Obama reads the newspapers and internet as much as he writes.

So what if Obama new who Ayers was. They worked on a commitee together. Forty years have past. Move on. Obama was eight years old. He didn't know Ayers at the time. This is so a non-issue. First the Who is Obama[?] didn't work. And now we're playing ring around the rosies with the Ayers thing again. They need to give it up. Most thinking people can see the smokescreen.

Bea:
Obama wrote two semi-autobiographical novels!
That was all the information anyone had about him when he began his campaign!
Maybe he should BE a writer!
He certainly is creative.
In fact the only characteristic Obama has which is greater than his skill as a wordsmith..... is his outrageously grandiose ego, followed by his outsized ears.

"Guess what again, McCain and John Glenn were cleared of any wrongdoing. "
For your information.. McCain was never cleared of any wrongdoing.

Don't worry Jaime...when we pull the curtain no one will know who we vote for. And not all of us who attend church are unable to think for ourselves. The radical and conservative Christians will always vote republican.Or they don't vote at all.

"RNC has a new web video out on Obama and Ayres. The man is a sleaze. Both of them."
What a suprise!
Guess what, the DNC has a video out on McCain and Keating. He's scumbag, all of them.
Guess what again, McCain and John Glenn were cleared of any wrongdoing. Big difference than Ayres who walked out of jail and said "guilty as hell, free as a bird". Obama knew who he was and what he did. He looked up to people like Huey Newton and the Black Panthers, and you would have to be really stupid to thing Obama's mentor Frank Marshall Davis did send him off on that road.

If you want Obama to be president go vote early most people do not realize the kind of language that is being spoken in churches most pastors are convinced tht obama is not a christian and our openly endorsing obama's alternative, republicans know how to win elections cos they know how to involve churches into political discourse, media polls have been wrong before in 04 john kerry who was regarded as the favourite lost to idiot bush repubs specifically target their base by character assasination of their opponent.

The RNC has a new video..and it portrays Obama as a sleaze. Stop the presses. This is astounding....

Mary:
"Truth--only 45% of the people pay income taxes-40% do not pay income taxes but Obama is going to save income taxes for them also. It is still fuzzy math. OK"
Not only that... Obama is going to PAY income taxes ... the ones you and the very rich will be donating.... to the 40 percent who don't pay ANY taxes at all at all.....
Talk about fizzzzzzyyyyyy fuzzy math.
Now THAT's Democracy!
You get to vote for this!

Mary, the Obama campaign is just responding to the hateful rhetoric and lies of the McCaign campaign. It's called defending yourself. Your denial of the way things really are is quite pathetic. Ignorance is only bliss to the person wallowing in it. To the rest of us it's just sad.

Well, I agree partially.. Barack Obama is liberal and I don't agree on all the issues. I don't believe that government can fix all problems.
However McCain/Palin are running a campaign to stupid for words. It's not my kind of leadership, erratic stunts, sixpack gimmicks, winks.
Rather an intelligent liberal then a republican that sold his soul to extreme right-wing nutcases.

On what basis would you have Palin impeached.... especially since Obama has been getting away with encouraging... and PAYING FOR fraudulant voter registration under the aegis of ACORN?
I will acknowledge that as a devious Chicago style political thug Obama is brilliant.....
I would have to add, however, that anyone who votes for Obama expecting him to carry out his myriad campaign promises.... has got rocks in his/her head!
And why are you all so afraid of Palin?
She came into this race with an 80 percent approval rating from her state.
She has brought money from big business into her state and GIVEN IT TO IT'S CITIZENS...rather than pocketing it like some politicians have been known to do!
I'd like to see Obama accomplish something like that!
Frankly, I'd like to see Obama accomplish A N Y T H I N G....
Even if B O should win, he won't have as high a rating.....

Enough with the Roman Empire already. Obama is accountable for himself. Not everything done by groups or people he's worked with or he's had little contact with. If that's how your going to base your vote, then take a good look at everybody McCain has ever been associated with, attended a fund raiser with, and every commitee he's been on and everyone that has served in the senate for the last 38 years. Then place their guilt on him.

Mary, Republicans in politics are all smoke and mirrors. They have to use wedge issues to distract you so they can continue the gravy train. People are so ignorant about this and I just don't get it. Gays,Guns and God and you have millions roped in from those three alone.

Mary,
We are looking at stupidity square in the face and it is frightening.
Our welfare has declined in the last 8 years, the dollar is now worthless and the deficit is sky high.
History has shown democrat presidents are fiscal more conservative then republican presidents.

Nobama...you forgot NBC, CBS,PBS and over half of America. We love Obama. He brings us hope....An offering McCain and certainly the hate pushing Palin will never serve. Dirty is the only way they think they can win. My generation and the generation behind me are smarter than that. We base our decisions on education, research and insightfulness. Not who appears to be the hero. We'll save the heros for the movies.
