2012 Watch: Palin' Around With Larry King

November 12, 2008 9:57 PM

In addition to blaming some campaign missteps on various unnamed McCain strategists and bashing the media, Gov. Sarah Palin was asked by Larry King tonight about the possibility of running for president in the future.

"If I have to call an audible down the road here and circumstances change, and the door is open for me to do so," Palin said, "I would take that challenge on, that responsibility, if I believed it was in the nation's best interest."

She added later, when asked again, "if they call an audible on me, if they say they want me in another position, I'm gonna do it. I'm not gonna -- especially here, today -- tell you what some crystal ball is gonna show me, 'cause we don't know what that crystal ball has within it. And there again -- there again -- my hands, my life is in God's hands. If he's got doors open for me, that I believe are in our state's best interests, the nation's best interests, I'm gonna go through those doors."

Well James, as we know that's NOT going to happen, I was thinking of your best interests in the most viable situation. :-)

As long as the left wing snarks beat on Palin, the right wing snarks will beat on Obama and Michelle.

And these blogs will be snark-infested waters until a new hobby horse is introduced. Boring....

Pitbull with lipstick? Ha! She is more like a pig with a bow Either imagery is both unsightly and useless. America's premeire self-proclaimed "Hockey Mom" was even booed at a Hockey game ... not my mom, eh? Thanks but no thanks, lady. When we need a witch hunter with a religiously bigoted social engineering infiltration program, we'll let her know. Maybe for the Halloween Parade in West Hollywood? Better, the Carnaval party in Rio. I am sure the military junta can find a job for her ... torturing college students maybe? At least she has experience doing that!

free,

Why would I need to move to Alaska? Wouldn't it be better to just move Governor Palin to Washington so all Americans could benefit from her demonstrated ability to put governance over politics?

James....you like her so well...relocate to be under her jurisdiction...I'm sure she would appreciate what 'lil support she'll have.

seemstome, or to the White House perhaps.

Sarah Palin continues to draw attention because she is a leader. One small example; with the price of oil skyrocketing the state of Alaska saw some very large budget surpluses earlier this year. Did Governor Palin spend this money on foolish social programs that have consistently failed? No. Did she throw the money at the special interest groups that could help her politically? No. Governor Palin took that money and "pre-bought" goods and services that the government of Alaska provides for their citizens and returned the rest to her citizens to help them pay for higher priced gas. She did not choose the politically expedient route and the people of Alaska are better prepared now to face the national down turn in the economy. Can you imagine any scenario where Barry Obama would act in a similar, positive fashion? I wish we had more politicians like Governor Palin in Washington.

You might argue that Governor Palin's successful political choices are dictated by "instinctual" understanding of governance instead of a "studied" understanding. That is fine. She is new on the national scene and her political beliefs will gain that depth. However, do not ignore the fact that her instinct are right on. They point to a set of governing principles that will serve her well as she moves up to take on bigger challenges. There are many politicians who will never understand good governance either through study nor through instinct. I believe we elected someone who is lacking both routes to success in Barry Obama. If it is not too late, maybe we can send Barry to Alaska to learn the basics of governance from Sarah Palin before he brings harm to our nation.

The election is over but Palin is still running strong. What the hell is going on back in Alaska? Who knows? Certainly not Palin. Todd must be in charge of the store. Meanwhile Palin is trying to take charge of the republican party.
Going further right is the wrong move for them now so if she succeeds I say excellent choice!
When the cold, stark reality of collapsed oil prices hits home back in Juneau, Palin will not look so much like the Golden Girl of the Permanent fund dividend check anymore. The pit-bull with lipstick will lose her aura with voters. All that will be left are her tics and her fleas.

Whatever else you can say about Palin, you have to admit that she is a pitbull with lipstick. She just will not let go.
I'm afraid if she keeps up this behavior she will have to be sent to the pound.

I'm on Palin overload now. How long will her media push go on? When will she get back to work for Alaskans?

It will be interesting to hear her take on the future of the GOP at the Governors meeting today. Something like, we didn't use Rev. Wright! That's why we lost! I'm sure that would go over well.

Why is it that when someone defends Sarah Palin by using the same tactics that her detractors use the posts get deleted? Did we just elect a dictator that is above criticism? If I have to choose between someone like Sarah who has taken everything the left can throw at her and someone like Barry that sends his goons in the media to go after a private citizen that just asked a question, then I will gladly support Sarah?

Really, why is there such a one sided environment in the press? Does anyone really believe that denying the opposition a voice is good for our nation?

dakota65, ahhh, scream away. Go ahead it will make you feel better. Sarah Palin isn't going anywhere. She will continue to point our the failures of your dear leader and will be there in 2012 to take over from the failure that is Barry Obama.

Posted by: Nick | Nov 13, 2008 9:32:09 AM

It’s interesting how Palin supporters can’t even agree on when their beloved Sarah is being mistreated. One writes, “Larry King seemed to be impressed with her…” Another writes, “Larry King was so condesending to her.“

Palinites need to get together and agree on the play before calling out their audibles.

If I have to hear her say "gonna" one more time, I'm going to scream.

Posted by: dakota65 | Nov 13, 2008 9:15:58 AM

We need more people like her because she is like us!

Posted by: Mary | Nov 13, 2008 9:05:11 AM

No one has to "take or cut her down"...she's doing very well on her own. She sets womens accomplishments back several generations with her harpy, unintelligent gibberish. It might sell the Alaskans, but it isn't selling the rest of the US.

For me, I am tired of watching Palin and i would soon stop reading about Palin. The media is just concerned about viewership. If the Republicans choose to nominate her, good for them. I will be glad to watch all the states turn blue this time around.

TO BAD BENNY HILL IS DEAD HE HAD A CRYSTAL BALL FOR HER.

PALIN NEEDS TO GO BACK TO HER FRONT PORCH--KEEP HER EYE ON RUSSIA---AND SIT IN WONDERMENT AS TO WHERE THE RUSSIAN PLANES GO---THERE GOES ONE OVER NOW.

Posted by: rodney | Nov 13, 2008 8:56:11 AM

When Obama said the same things over and over many swooned and said great speaker. Palin is critized for the same words. I like her, believe she is capable and there is more then one issue to look at when supporting a women. Come on women, be more then pro abortion, stand for equality.
