Ax Suggests Something Fishy About Breaking Story About Obama Aunt
November 01, 2008 1:54 PM
HENDERSON, NEV. -- David Axelrod, the senior campaign strategist for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., today suggested there was something fishy about the story of Obama's long-last half-aunt living in the U.S. illegally breaking now, with three days left in the presidential race.
"The campaign issued a statement on that, you know, and I don't have anything more to add to it," Axelrod told reporters, "other than I think people are suspicious about stories that surface in the last 72 hours of a national campaign. And I think that they're going to take that - they're going to put it in that context."
Liberal websites such as Talking Points Memo have gone so far as to call the story a "smear," noting that the aunt's presence in the U.S. first broke in the Times of London, owned by conservative media magnate Rupert Murdoch, was then pounced on by conservative media outlets (and others), and her illegal status was confirmed to the Associated Press by a federal law enforcement official.

Concerned: Is Joe an American Citizen? Have we seen his birth certificate? No. We know he is unlicenced, has not paid his taxes, owes for back child support and has priors for shop lifting and copper theft. Can we swap him for Obama's Aunt, d'ya think? I don't think Joe is such a good role model for working Americans. Let's swap him for Obama's Aunt. She seems nicer - and there's a better than even chance she's more ethical, even with this cloud over her. BTW, she's not guilty of any criminal offence here - and still has room for appeal. Whereas "Joe" ... Well.....Not Good.

What's timing got to do with it? She's still illegal. She's still his aunt. She's still in public housing.

OBABA DUMPS HIS OWN AUNT!
obama dumps his own family! how honorable is that? how much does he help his brother who lives in poverty in africa?
he will dump the american people too! he is the a self-serving candidate who will dump anyone to meet his own goals. dump wright-after 20 years, doesn't know ayers after years of association, doesn't know khalil, etc etc..........

aw c'mon. I haven't held it against Obama that his cousin Mr. Cheney has nearly brought down our democracy so why should I be concerned that his long lost Auntie protested going home to Africa?
You can't control your relatives. You especially can't control them when you barely know them.

If find it so funny that Sarah Palin keeps throwing around the word Socialist when referring to Obama. In reality Palin should know all about socialism as she is the head of the most "socialist" state in our our counrty.
Let's see ..all the people of Alaska own the mineral and oil rights of that state and each Alaskan, every man, women and child, receives a check every year from the oil companies since the oil companies make their money off of the oil that all Alaskans own. Now if that is not "socialism' I don't know what is. So Sarah Palin is the head of a "Socialist State". Also, sounds like "redistribution of wealth" don't you think.

I watched some footage of McCain stumping yesterday that I hope everyone else blogging here saw. McCain referred to his long-time and distinguished colleague in the Senate, Joe Biden, as "the gift that keeps on giving." If my memory serves me right, that expression is used in connection with a venereal disease. C'mon people - do we want a dirty-mouthed military guy who called his wife by a despicable slur in front of three reporters who were independent of one another for our president?! We need someone with polish and manners who can interract with world leaders in ways that make us proud, not the likes of this guy McCain. He's a hot-head accident waiting to happen and not the right fit America's needs in leadership.

The aunt, whom he wrote so fondly about in his book, was living in US government subsided housing. The issue here is that even though he makes millions of dollars a year Obama feels that it is the taxpayers' responsibility to help his family members, not his.

Btw, if I donated 260 (and considering the current worth of a US dollar, thats about fifty or 60 bucks)dollars to a campaign, I doubt the intended recipient would ever know....or care. Reality, what a concept.
Posted by: tendergroins | Nov 2, 2008 9:50:27 AM
So we now know without a doubt that the Obama campaign has been accepting campaign contributions from illegal aliens and foreigners. How many millions more has been contributed illegally to the Obama campaign?

Of course the timing was fishy. And that's just the beginning. McCain is flooding my state with nasty robocalls and brochures. His 527s are putting out all kinds of slanderous ads. In some battleground states they are circulating slanderous 95-minute DVDs in which people like Corsi are interviewed. The head of the Philadelphia election board says the prospect of unreasonably long lines to vote in that city don't matter. After all, people stand in line all night to buy I Pods. In other words, she wants Middle Class and poor working people excluded from voting. In my own state (Missouri) last time (2004) the polls were closed with working and poor people still standing in line. Some never got to vote. We all knew the GOP nasty machine would be in full force these last few days. The only way to stop this is to vote the nasty out.

Wait a second. Just because it occurred before the election doesn't mean the media should ask questions. Axelrod threw the media a bone by talking about the timing of the story rather than it's validity. Does anyone find it strange that the Obama would not know this? Don't these campaigns research everything including taking an inventory of possible bad news storied, plus she donated to his campaign. The media obviously just stops asking questions.

The coincidence is uncanny that a Arizona Senator is trying to find a nuke ad to blast his opponent in the last days much like another nuked a Arizona Senator so long ago to win the election. I believe most Americans have enough common sense to see through it this time.
Fortunately, I find McCain's ads nothing more than scribblings on a bathroom walls. The real truth in that he will probably be in there for quite awhile and often long after the elections are over.
\ There will be a new course added to your curriculum in case you decide to run for President one day: Making Executive Decisions 101 and 102. (Im sure there are plenty of Presidents rolling over in their graves in laughter, especially Lincoln.) That way no one can ever use that lame excuse against you. BTW, A passing grade is a 'B' or higher. Naturally, we would have to grandfather Bush in on that one.

The first time I heard of his Aunt, it was that she was poor and Obama didn't do anything to help her. Then it was she was here illegally and Obama thought she had left the country years ago when she was supposed on the plane ticket he bought for her. Of course, Obama is supposed to support his father's entire family now. But, according to Pamela Geller, Obama's father is Malcom X, so these people claiming to be Obama's cousin, half brothers, second cousins twice removed are false anyway, right? I have never seen or heard of such smear tactics. If the GOP can do this, I bet they could do something REALLY bad, like convince the public that there were WMD's in Iraq!

Eight years of right wing divisiveness is enough!!
If you haven't voted yet, when you do vote out another republican.
These next four years do not need to be the same as the last eight. Get on the band wagon of change.
Obama/Biden.

Nice Points, Paul Revere. But I was wondering...
Would some of you Obama kool-aid drinkers kindly update us on the status of his brother George, who lives in the hut?

Palin will not release her medical records because she has had multiple abortions and doesn't want the public to see the hypocrite she is.

Again we see Obama's character. He continues to hide, when caught He just say I don't know. Same in Ayers. Rev. Wright, Rezko, Collini etc.
Posted by: Hector | Nov 2, 2008 8:54:00 AM
No, what's really fishy is the timing of such an inexperienced, shady-past senator even being considered for POTUS!! He's not been truly vetted by the people because the media is in the tank for his liberalism/socialism. What's fishy is how we can't know ANYTHING about this guys past (birthplace, medical/college records, controvercial associates - Ayers, Rev. Wright, and other extremists - relatives, etc.)Why havn't the "press" interviewed any of his extended family or life long friends? Everything we know about him comes from him, his wife or the Ax. If you can't know (or dare ask) about the guys past, how the heck can you trust him with America's future??
