Happy Birthday, Mr. Vice President-elect
November 19, 2008 4:07 PM
In Chicago today, at Obama Transition HQ, President-elect Obama surprised the Vice President-elect, who will turn 66 tomorrow.
After their weekly lunch, Mr. Obama presented Mr. Biden cupcakes, Obama aides say.
Here is a picture from the Obama Transition Team:
Obama lit the candles on the 12 cupcakes and brought them over to Biden.
"You're 12 years old!" Obama joked, referring to the dozen cupcakes.
"Maybe in dog years!" Biden laughed.
Mr. Obama led the staff in singing him "Happy Birthday," and then gifted his loquacious running mate with a Chicago White Sox Hat, a Chicago Bears Hat and a bucket of Garrett's popcorn as gifts.

Happy B-day Mr. VP elected!
I hope you can save us from the demise!

I;m glad they seem to get along.
On another note I keep hearing about Garrett's Popcorn, anyone ever try it?

Obama NEVER said he was a Cubs fan - EVER. You people are delusional if you think otherwise.
Hey Joe - Happy Birthday; and I'm sure you loved that Garrett's popcorn - the BEST there is!!

Is Bush gone yet? I can't wait to roll up my sleeves and do something positive for this country. But, hope that's it for the Clinton folks coming on board. Time for Change. Want to see Hagel, Richard Clarke in the mix. But, what do I know. Happy B-day B.

Jen your snooty remarks are getting old we won you lost get over it. The republicans have put this country in the hole and it will take more than 4 years to get us out of it. The Obama/Biden team will try there best to get us out of it. Did you know that Bush spent over 42 million dollars on his Inauguration Ball unbelievable now if that isn't waste I don't know what is. When Obama made his exception speech he cancelled the fire works they were planning now that is a man that understands what the American people are going thru.

Some of you really need to get a life!!! All the man did was wish his Vice President a Happy Birthday with a couple of cheap gifts and the claws come out! Dang, get over it already!!!

"Did not our Greatest Leader say he was a Cubs fan?
What do you call that?"
That? I call "that" a sad lie by a right winger.
Obama is a White Sox fan and Chicago is along the lines of New York with a severe distaste for sports bigamy.

baseball's great because you can hate a person based on the hat they wear, but still be able to have a drink with them.

I don't know what half you posters are talking about.
For the record - Obama is a Sox (White, not Red)fan. He is NOT a Cubs fan. Repeat..Obama is a Sox Fan. In Chicago we call the White Sox "the SOX".

"We want some change. Hope for change.
All we get is Clinton make over!"
So right wingers realizing their reputation is mud will now pretend to be dissatisfied Obama supporters in order to hurl their invective.
Much as they pretended to be Hillary supporters or Democrats during the election.
For a bunch of tough talkers, you guys sure are cowardly.

There is still hope for them both to become a Yankee fan. And yeah, they are both smart. A change after these 8 years

I'd like to see some changeS?
Where are they? I want them NOW?
Is it still change or it's over now?

When did Biden say that Obama will be tested? Did the No. 2 Al Qaidae just send something?
Are we prepared?
Posted by: Jen | Nov 19, 2008 6:08:13 PM
Huh? Biden said it not Obama. Even still it was a suggestion, not implying it was true. Plus, it is a 7 year ratio of dog/human age.
PoopsMagee NOT READY TO POST! :-P

He's got it backwards. In dog years, you're older than you actually are. I.e. 5 years human equals 25 dog years.
NOT READY TO LEAD!!!!

Love the humble simplicity of it all--cupcakes, sports hats. Sweet. Thumbs-up @ Bonnie and Elizabeth. Biden IS special, with much knowledge, a sharp and analytical mind, and like Obama, the kind of life experience that sets your values straight. They are going to be one awesome team. Happy Birthday (tomorrow), Mr. Veep-Elect, go Joe!

It is a Chicago BEARS hat. The football team, not the baseball team...
Posted by: Kody | Nov 19, 2008 6:03:14 PM
Chicago fans are dillusional if you really think you can like the Yankees. and the Mets. Thats sacreligious. Chicago isn't half as fierce as New York!

Smarmy remarks to insue I am sure. PE Obama is a nice guy and I think we can use a nice guy in charge for a while. And VPE Biden is a nice guy also, and I think he ENJOYS this sort of thing, so they are a fine match.
