Kissinger Backs Clinton at State
November 16, 2008 9:23 AM
At the World Economic Forum's 24th India Economic Summit in New Delhi, India, former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said of reports that President-elect Obama is considering Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, as Secretary of State, "I believe it would be an outstanding appointment. If it is true, it shows a number of things, including great courage on the part of the President-Elect. To appoint a very strong personality into a prominent cabinet position requires a great deal of courage."
Kissinger said that "Obama was my second choice in the election. But at the same time, I want to stress that this is the moment for non-partisanship in America. There are a number of challenges that must be dealt with...I believe that the United States faces a moment of enormous complexity, but also a moment of extraordinary opportunity."

"All these articles and speculations and opinions are going to make it hard for Obama to pick anyone else besides Hillary."
This is one time I don't mind the potential of media influence to affect political decision making. Can't say I care for the alternative, Bill Richardson. He's a nice guy, but wasn't too articulate during the debates and interviews. He also strikes me as being on the dispassionate side, like Kerry. Internationally, speculation and I might add, hope, runs in Hillary's favor.

Insiders are reporting the job is Hillarys if she wants it. I hope she turns it down so she can run again in 2012 for President.

Though more heads are better than one, I do not think Obama needs an endorsement/recommendation from anyone in order to make his pick.
Every individual used his/her own
head to pick the President they want, with varities of reasons, this should also be left for Obama to make his own decision.

Do it Obama do it, you know you want to whether its to keep your eye on her or because you really want her as SOS you know you want her for that cabinet position.

Hillary would be a great help for Mr. Obama in many positions in the cabinet.

We can live without the endorsement of the neocons' principal spokesperson to tell us that nothing has changed.
We will get the same old, same old.

Recommendation from a de facto (not de jure, alas) war criminal? To me it sounds like a kiss of death !
