More White House Staffing
November 16, 2008 9:53 AM
President-elect Obama has tapped his Senate chief of staff Pete Rouse to be a White House Senior Adviser,
To be Deputy White House Chief of Staff he has named former NSC staffer Mona Sutphen from Stonebridge International LLC; and Jim Messina, national chief of staff to the Obama campaign.
Politico's Mike Allen is reporting that Obama has decided on Greg Craig to be White House counsel.
Obama's resignation of his U.S. Senate seat kicks in today; a "thank you letter" from him to the citizens of the Land of Lincoln appears in various Illinois newspapers today.
"It was long ago that another son of Illinois left for Washington," Obama writes.
"A greater man who spoke to a nation far more divided, Abraham Lincoln, said of his home, 'To this place, and the kindness of these people, I owe everything.' Today, I feel the same, and like Lincoln, I ask for your support, your prayers, and for us to 'confidently hope that all will yet be well.'"

I think our beloved country in is a very dire situation. why was there not more emphasis put on Obama's allies during the campaign and where his campaign money was coming from?????
Does he think that all of us are dumb enough to believe that all those millions came from the little guys with our economy so bad???

White house staffing with Hillary Clinton as SOS! I don't support either party so I can say this with no reservations. ARE YOU CRAZY, OR ARE YOU STUPID!

Obama's campaign slogan was Change You Can Believe In, but I am having a very difficult time seeing any "change". What I am seeing is the rebirth of the Clinton Administration and that is not the change people were expecting.
Obama picked Rahm Emanuel as his Chief of Staff. Rahm served on the board of directors of Freddie Mac, a board accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention". Freddie Mac misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between 2000 and 2002. Freddie Mac agreed to pay a $50 million penalty in 2007 to settle the SEC complaint.
Thomas Donilon, one of his top transition team members, was an aggressive lobbyist whose goal was to
undermine the credibility of the probe into Fannie Mae's accounting irregularities. He attacked the funding
of the oversight agency and the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight Agency. Of course it was all for nothing when regulators discovered the top Fannie Mae executives had been cooking the books from 1998 to 2004 to maximize their bonuses and ended up paying the SEC $400M in 2006.
He is now considering Hillary for the Sec. of State position.

Convenient that he won't be a senator voting on a stimulus package in the lame duck session, no? And just think, now he will never have to worry about holding any hearings in his subcommittee, that little matter than Biden, Clinton, et al. mentioned but that he explained was something he had not had time to do, what with running for president and all.

Obama will be extremely luky to finish a first term,if the stock market crashes.it has already been predicted by experts that it will, just a matter of time, and add that to what little economy we have now.with more job loses looming, the stores better brace for a dismal shopping season.with all that on his plate.he will be lucky to complete a first term.he has a lot to do and a short time to get it done.he still has not convinced me that he can do it.

"It was long ago that another son of Illinois left for Washington," Obama writes. - from Jake's story
Obama will be the third President to hail from Illinois. The others being Lincoln amd Ulysses S. Grant.
Obama will be the first President born in Hawaii, Kenya or Indonesia. (pick one)
The two other sitting US Senators elected Presdient were Warren G Harding and John F. Kennedy.
Joe Biden will also be resigning soon from the Senate seat he was just relected to by Deleware voters.
As the old saying goes, Illinois' (and Delaware's) loss is America's... loss.

I guess the "CHANGE" that Mr. O'Babble was talking about was putting the old Clinton Administration back in the White House. "YES WE CAN"... Put the Clinton Admin. in the White House once again.

Does he have any words he can put
together of his own?

Could Obama and Clinton co-exist in the White House, along with their respective influences of Lincoln and Eleanor Roosevelt? Yes, they can!
