Obama Loves the 90s
November 18, 2008 9:26 PM
Eric Holder, Rahm Emanuel, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Greg Craig, Ron Klain, maybe Larry Summers...
I feel like I should grow a goatee, smoke an American Spirit and crank up some Smashing Pumpkins.
Gotta go, "X-Files" is on...

Maybe that is why Biden is holding off on resigning senate seat. Waiting to be replaced by Kurt Cobain. The 90s rule!!

sen. clinton is in the senate, she should stay there,
let obama find his own sos, from his own group.
it is time obama left the clinton(s)
alone.

Most of these naysayers weren't even born when Clinton was President or they are GWB fans. I'd like the 90's back economy-wise.

It is NOT fair to put Rham E. and Eric H. in the Clinton group - that is NOT where Barack knows them from. They are FRIENDS and CLOSE associates of HIS. These men were on his team outwardly or silently from the begining and NOT on Clinton's.
To be fair, I was steamed at the idea of so many Clintonites - but these two cannot be only seen as that. They are much more to Obama than they were to Clinton - They are part of a team of people he connected with outside of the Clinton Whitehouse.
So what if he takes the best from everyone - even Clinton.
They are OBAMANITES now!

if not from the clinton era...then WHERE? the bush era??? y'all people need to smarten-up
obama needs people that are competent and KNOWS washington, why do the SAME mistake bill clinton done and bring in complete ROOKIES to his cabinet????
Posted by: gluvnast | Nov 19, 2008 7:41:44 AM
This is CHANGE. Competence is a BIG change from the last 8 years. Yes We Can!!!

The problem is that Obama claimed "change," and he's not living up to that. He used deception to get elected.

Look on the bright side, at least he isn't getting people from the Bush administration!
Posted by: Jwench | Nov 19, 2008 7:32:30 AM
This "theme of the week" is getting a little tiresome. Looks to me like he's learned from the mistakes made by the Carter and Clinton administrations. He's moving quickly to bring in people who are good at what they do and know their way around Congress.
We should be so lucky that he brings back the nineties...eight years of peace and prosperity (without the psychodrama).

It's okay for him to repeat the 90's
at least back then the economy was thriving and and were not worried about whether not we were going to have a job.

Holder, Summers and Craig backed Obama from the beginning against Senator Hillary Clinton. Klain worked for Gore in the Clinton Administration and has long been a strong supporter and associate of Vice President-Elect Biden.
Emanuel remained neutral in the primaries, but has always been part of tthe Democratic Leadership Council-Clinton part of the Party.
Those who supported Obama and Biden did NOT think Senator Hillary Clinton was qualified or the best choice for President.
Nor do they think she is qualified for Secretary of State. Perhaps Emanuel does.

Smashing Pumpkins...yet another Chicago connection. ;-)

I am getting tired of all the media repeating it looks like the Clintons without providing any reason why that is bad.

Yup, I think there is some real jealousy going on.

As the old saying goes: "If it ain't broken, don't fix it.
The whole system has been broken for the past eight years. Obama is serious and determined to fix it again. GOOD JOB!

Unless there are specific issues with the 90s people, I am all for experience. Our country is facing far the worst economic condition since the depression, a huge deficit from Bush, and two wars.
I am getting tired of all the media repeating it looks like the Clintons without providing any reason why that is bad.

He will make it work. That is what he has promised; that is what he will deliver.
Watch and learn

I'm all for that, Jake. Goatees are sexy.

The Dems have a deep bench rich in talent that was brought along and nurtured during the 2 Clinton terms. Obama would be foolish not to take advantage of it.

Smashing Pumpkins suck.
Go ahead and grow the goatee, Jake - but give the guy a little elbow room ..

Obama and global warming are the two biggest frauds ever foisted on the united states of america.

Jake, spare us the doofy comments, please. Obama decided to pick some experienced hands. Is that ok? Should he have just gone with some of his starry-eyed volunteers (I count myself as one of these) who never had any high-level government experience?
