Obama Names White House Message-Bearers
November 22, 2008 3:29 PM
President-elect Barack Obama Saturday continued filling out his White House staff, announcing key communications aides, including spokesman Robert Gibbs.
Along with Gibbs, Obama also selected Ellen Moran to be communications director and Dan Pfeiffer to serve as her deputy.
"These individuals will fill essential roles, and bring a breadth and depth of experience that can help our administration advance prosperity and security for the American people,” Obama said in a statement. “This dedicated and impressive group of public servants includes longtime advisors and a talented new addition to our team, and together we will work to serve our country and meet the challenges of this defining moment in history.”
Gibbs served as Obama’s communications director on his Senate staff and during the Illinois lawmaker’s presidential campaign before being named senior strategist during the general election.
The bespectacled Southerner's ties to Obama date back to April 2004, when he first served as communications director for Obama’s 2004 Senate race.
Moran currently holds the position of executive director for EMILY’s List, an organization supporting female Democratic candidates for higher office who support abortion rights.
Pfeiffer presently works as communications director for Obama’s transition team. Before that, he worked for various prominent Washington lawmakers, including Sen. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., Sen. Tim Johnson, D-SD, and former Sen. Tom Daschle, D-SD, who will be Obama’s Secretary of Health & Human Services.

I wasn't responding to the article. I was responding to your "Don't let them find out the truth...I have no clue!!!" which is certainly what poor Dana has to do daily.

The state should not be dictating to women how they handle pregnancy. You have a choice. Sarah Palin recommended abstinence to her daughter, and her daughter got knocked up. I recommend birth control if you don't want to get pregnant.

There is pro-choice and then there is rabidly pro-choice. In choosing Moran, Obama chose to choose a rabidly pro-choice person.
Obama is really on the fringe of the abortion issue. Even most pro-choicers would find his positions on legislation he voted on as an Illinois State Senator to be repugnant. Abortion issues haven't really come up since he has been in the US Senate, but his extremism on the issue looks to have not changed one bit.

Hey jhw,
Who needs a hands-on President when you've got Clinton's team running the show? Let him delegate and cheer away. It's Obama's turn to get paid!

We, the citizens, can say and talk all we want. Ultimately, we must bring our mindset into the same thinking as Mr. Obama and his administration. We voted for him but we are not in control here. Only GOD is controlling this issue. People in this country as well as the whole world around are hurting, physically, financially and emotionally by what the previous administration did to the whole world. The 'east wind storms' that blew into this country the Sunday prior to Obama's election should have told us all something if we had been paying attention. East wind storms are how GOD changes things and the Bible shows us that starting with the Red Sea.All of us 'so-called' Christians should be praying without ceasing for Mr. Obama to make good decisions as well as for each other. Stop all the crticizing and rankor. In the end, we will all need each other.

WestCoastMessenger: "He's the delegator-in-chief. "
Um, that is the job of the President. Although at this point he has been far more engaged and hands on than current President Bush. Certainly ENORMOUSLY more hands on than President Reagan.

Hey Smart Blond,
You are seeing the work of Mr. Podesta, a died-in-the-wool Clintonista. Keep up the compliments, though, Obama definitely gets points for stepping back and letting the pros go to work. He's the delegator-in-chief. All he has to do is collect and paycheck and cheer us on with his eloquence, doesn't have to know a nothing. It's Obama's turn to get paid!!

The election of Barrack, is such a relief for the people that believe in faith and doing an honest day`s work to get ahead. He has spent more time planning his choices for his cabinet very carefully and they have been checked out by many people to try to avoid future problems. There will still be many people that will not approve anything he does, but the American people are smarter than to let a few people keep us from failing this new chance for America. I see nothing but good coming to our country and tp the rest of the world by this new way of thinking of good things happening. It has been very bleak. Please give him and his cabinet to bring us a future soon to overcome this dismal past.

My theory is that these antichoice types, who are so obsessed with abortion are really repressed murderers at heart . They love their fantasies of babies being killed, and try to make their delusional fascination real by accusing women who terminate pregnancies of doing it. That way they get to make the murderous impulses in their subconscious come alive for them. I would be scared to leave them with a living child, the might kill it, or at least let it suffer like so many unwanted children do. I advise all parents to avoid letting these antichoice fanatics, especially teachers, nurses, babysitters or neighbors, near their children. They are dangerous!

"Rabidly pro-abortion Emily's List Ellen Moran appointed to be a message bearer for the adminstration? It is sad that Obama continues to back the abortion genocide which has claimed so many African American babies. It looks like our worst fears may come true. So very, very, sad. May God deliver us from such evils."
--------------------
what is sad is to continue to bring children in the world who will die of hunger, disease, malnutrition and maltreatment.
Enough of putting babies on top of an agenda filled with death, war and poverty.
Keep people alive and well first.
Stop lying to the people, bringing corruption, war and pinpointing.
Then promote a no-abortion ideal.
May God protect US from fundamentalist ideas.

Think you have Gibbs confused with poor Dana Perino.

"bring a breadth and depth of experience that can help our adminstration advance prosperity and security for the American people....defining this moment in history" In other words make me look good and do the best they can do to keep the masses focused on how great I am. Don't let them find out the truth...I have no clue!!!!
