GOD bless President-Elect Obama and his family. Those who beleive that God is no respector of persons, that Christ blood was shed for all humans, Pray for our entire government..thse who profess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour ...all of a sudden..Barack will have to prove that he is worthy....HMMM..Was that said about previous presidents??...probably not...The God that I serve does not think less of a black person, than a white person....but some men do and they are often in the church...Everyone has their own mind and thinks for himself...soem of you watch to much tv and are quick to beleive the racsit and sterotypical remarks by some. Barack is a very wise and intelligent man and capable of running the country. AGAIN!!! PRay that GOD continue to give wisdom, Guidance...........Peace!
God's child!!

Has anyone seen the cover of JET Magazine. If this election had nothing to do with race than why does the cover state "We Won" Who is "we?" I didn't know this was the blacks against the whites??? I wish that was discussed during the election instead of using the term "Change" in Obama's campaign because I bet the election would have definitely turned out differently if he had.

Comments on Election 2008 by E. A. Smythe
Congratulations to President Elect Barak Obama and Vice President Elect Joe Biden.
Congratulations to Obama-Biden 2008 Election Team and the Voumteers of Obama-Biden 2008.
Bridges are being built and fences are being mended. Metaphorically Speaking.
All this talk about people treating other people by their outward appearance , the colour of a person skin, like for example the reluctance to invite Booker T. Washington to the Whitehouse shows how environmental upbringing and indoctrination influences choices by people from all walks of life in their day to day living. The HOLY BIBLE says that God created mankind ( Genesis 2) and it goes on to say that when Samuel the prophet was looking for a new King to replace King Saul in 1Samuel chapter 16, that ,(to paraphrase , Samuel, representing the choice factor of mankind, had the wrong perspective; Samuel wanted to choose a king acceptable to the Nation of Israel, but God had different ideas. God's ways are past finding out. God told Samuel:
“...The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart. ....” ( 1 Samuel 16 verse 7).(New International Version).
AFTER reading the above , and then looking at the election of the 44th President of the United States of America, in November 2008, we are reminded of the words of Martin Luther King, in his “..I have a dream speech, said :
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. ..” ( Martin Luther King ) .
The level of maturity of American Politics has demonstrated to the world that Race Relations in America is maturing as defined in the United States Constitution “ ...... ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL...” . Errol Smythe.

I voted for John McCain... I believe he was the better candidate for the job.
Congratulations, Senator Obama (to become President-Elect Obama when Congress accepts the electors' votes, and President Obama come January 20th).
I just hope my fears about a Obama administration, supported by strong majorities in the House and Senate, are unfounded.

For all the bloggers on this site who hate the fact that President Elect Obama has won the Presidential Election. I can't see you, but I can feel your venom, sadness, hurt and anger in your words. This is a great country. Even you can become president in the USA if you so desire and put forth the hard strenuous work. No other country will afford you that opportunity. The fact that you can even say such vile things about the President Elect is proof that you are in a country of liberty and freedom. In another country you would probably be traced to your online comment and admonished if not forbidden to state your opinion again. Count your blessings, ask for forgiveness and become a productive and less angried USA citizen. Allow your pain and disappointment to be healed. Those who voted for President-Elect Obama, stop your gloating and bearing your chest as if you've achieved some great feat. Our country is in dire straits. Pray for help to change our hearts from the hurt and pain we all feel at one time or another. Ask God to help us accept the things we can't change or don't understand. He will mend our broken spirit and contrite hearts. PJTurner

My prayer is that within the next four years it will be you Obama supporters who will be able to say, "See, we told you so!" Unfortunately my fear is that instead you will be telling us, "This is NOT the change that I voted for!"

Well . . . I barely wore any mascara today, cause I feel like I'm going have watery eyes all day. What an amazing day! This must be, to some degree, how my parents and grandparents felt when an Irish Catholic man was elected president - like the sky is the limit for their children, for ALL children. Only the struggle has been much, much harder and more profound for African Americans.
What a moment to be alive! And, as my teenage son said last night, who was so elated and enthusiastic, I feel my eyes watering again at the thought of it, "now we've taken back our country!" We have. We've taken back The Constitution, fairness, unity, and hope. Now, the future of generations rest on how we all proceed and meet the enormous challenges ahead, together.
Did I mention it's a hell of a day? A hell of a lot of hope was answered and is still swelling in a lot of us for the future. Hope that we can get back to our finer selves, our finer principles and get to work together to straighten this colossal mess up.
. . . Man that was soppy, but I just can't hold it in.

should have read "does NOT harm straight people"

Congratulations President Elect Obama!
To all the people who hate or fear Obama, give him a fair chance, and don’t try to divide the country. Obama is walking into a mess that has grown tremendously during the campaign.
Note: The USA now has redistribution of wealth, a.k.a. "socialism", at least since graduated income tax. Not an Obama program.
The country has had legal abortion since Roe vs. Wade, it is not law that Obama authored. The right to choice does not mean Obama or others favor or like to see abortions. He is not a baby killer.
A person being a homosexual does harm straight people. Some sexually insecure people may feel threatened. Being a homosexual is not a choice, and as such, cannot be outlawed in a democracy; it could be in a communist country.
I am wondering if people who base their vote by voting for the candidate who is against abortion rights, and homosexual rights, would prefer a theocracy based on Christianity (other religions not likely allowed), over democracy. Many of the multitude the Religious Right's actions show me that they want to move toward Theocracy, they just don't want to call it that.

Linda, I never thought I would be here again - but there are thousands of little old ladies in Iowa who disagree with you pretty strongly. And they are not naive or unAmerican or Marxist. They are part of real America - just like the people who were celebrating from Miami to Times Square to Pikes Place in Seattle.
Just for the record: John McCain does not approve your statement. Not even close. Why don't you go back and listen to his speech? It was a speech made by a man who loves this country - and knows what it is going to take for this country to make it through the toughest time in 50 years. And I believe he is ready and willing to do it. And so is Obama.

And Aussie? Thank you. We have our country back - and more. It is like waking from an 8-year nightmare.

Thanks to McCain for a courageous and generous speech. And I can't say how glad I am to read the real reports on the campaign - that McCain wanted an honorable campaign and was blindisided by the ruthless and clueless and unapproved attacked by Palin too. He was someone I once supported and believed in and I welcome him back.

rmw, what are you talking about. This country has been in hell for the past 8 years. Obama won by a landslide and not by morons. The country has spoken-----no more republicans in the white house. Your time is finally gone.

People loose their hearing & sight when they get desperate, and here we are. President Barack Obama! I know America needed a wake up call, because of the materialism of it's people. Spending of People and Government are out of control, but I hoped we would be spared from this mess.
We will find out now what kind of "Change" this new President will bring!
