Rove Calls it for Obama: 338-200 Electoral Blowout

November 04, 2008 11:53 AM

Karl "Permanent Republican Majority" Rove is wrong quite often -- remember "the math" in 2006? -- so Obama supporters should take his final map with that in mind.

That said, it seems not insignificant that Rove writes: "The final Rove & Co. electoral map of the 2008 election cycle points to a 338-200 Barack Obama electoral vote victory over John McCain tomorrow, the largest electoral margin since 1996."

len,

Would that be the same Sarah Palin who gleefully laughed out loud when a Canadian comedian posing as Nicolas Sarkozy said, "I just love killing those animals. Mm, mm, take away life, that is so fun."

The one that couldn't name a newspaper or magazine she read?

Sara Palin the energy expert who said, "Oil of coal, of course, is a fungible commodity and they don't flag, ya know, the molecules where, where it's going to, where it's not, but and in the, in the sense of the Congress today they know our very, very hungry domestic markets that need that oil first. So I believe that what Congress is going to do also is not to allow the export bans to such a degree that it's Americans who get stuck holding the bag without the energy source that is produced here, pumped here; it's gotta flow into our domestic markets first."

One has to wonder why Rove would be calling the election to Obama. It's obviously motivated by his own self-interest. Maybe he'd like to be a part of Obama's bipartisan group.

I could care less what Rove thinks about anything, but the thing that really sticks out with his prediction is that he KNOWS McCain has LOST! That speaks volumes and I couldn't be more THRILLED! And to think that McCain is still yelling at his crowds to FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, WE NEVER GIVE UP. What a joke and what a FOOL! Isn't that old adage, no fool like an old fool. Seems that applies nicely in this case!

"But the G.O.P.’s long transformation into .... will pose a dilemma for moderate conservatives."

Response by len:
You are wrong. The last hurrah of the ultra-right conservatives was 2004.

The original poster is 100% correct. The Republican party has been hi-jacked by far right wing radical neo-cons. They have become an extraordinarily exclusive party. There is no room for moderate Republicans which is why so many are voting Democrat this year. It's a shame.

"But the G.O.P.’s long transformation into .... will pose a dilemma for moderate conservatives."

You are wrong. The last hurrah of the ultra-right conservatives was 2004. McCain is a centrist by comparison and he did the country a favor by introducing us to Governor Sarah Palin.

The Democrats hammered Hillary Clinton into the ground. It was mean spirited and even if Obama wins, it was a move destined to pay back bad juju three times over to the DNC because it has broken the back of the core supporters. Even if the Dems sweep, they are living on borrowed time.

Sarah Palin is one of the good things to happen in this campaign. She represents the shift of American feminism, a cause often typified by extremism, toward the center.

I am a Democrat and I think Palin will be a positive force. You can disagree with her positions, but the demonization of Palin will only weaken our position in the future. It is time to step back from the campaign adrenaline and take an honest sober look at Palin because this is someone who will be a contender for years to come.

And it's a good thing. We're going to need her.

Joe the Plumber is short on cash and unemployed ... "I got no financial offers. I am broke," Joe Wurzelbacher said Monday

Old 'Joe' is too misinformed to understand who has lead him to being broke.....aka. Republicans.

Like many, he continually votes against his own best economic interests by voting republican.

Obama said: "they take pride in their own ignorance"..... 'Joe' is but another example of Obama being correct again.

Paul Krugman gets it right.

Instead, the Republican rump, the party that’s left after the election, will be the party that attends Sarah Palin’s rallies, where crowds chant “Vote McCain, not Hussein!” It will be the party of Saxby Chambliss, the senator from Georgia, who, observing large-scale early voting by African-Americans, warns his supporters that “the other folks are voting.” It will be the party that harbors menacing fantasies about Barack Obama’s Marxist — or was that Islamic? — roots.

Why will the G.O.P. become more, not less, extreme? For one thing, projections suggest that this election will drive many of the remaining Republican moderates out of Congress, while leaving the hard right in place.

.............

But the G.O.P.’s long transformation into the party of the unreasonable right, a haven for racists and reactionaries, seems likely to accelerate as a result of the impending defeat.
This will pose a dilemma for moderate conservatives. Many of them spent the Bush years in denial, closing their eyes to the administration’s dishonesty and contempt for the rule of law. Some of them have tried to maintain that denial through this year’s election season, even as the McCain-Palin campaign’s tactics have grown ever uglier. But one of these days they’re going to have to realize that the G.O.P. has become the party of intolerance.

He's got it perfect. If Obama wins today, the Republican party with the help of FOX and talk radio will be the party of Screaming Zombies that will make the Clinton years look like a walk in the beach.

The Democrats have always despised Karl Rove. And now so can Republicans, and justifiably so. Therefore lets all unite together and make him look like the biggest horse's backside in the beltway come tomorrow morning. And it is so easy to do: Go to your polling place and vote McCain Palin!!!

Posted by: topo2005 | Nov 4, 2008 3:08:56 PM

Tell Mr. Rove to go home. This man is all behind McCain attack campaign and is the hired "hit guy" of Republican Freedom Watch Group, supported by the super rish of America to keep Obama out and hi wiht attacks.

This man is evil!! But hope he is right.
Obama wins!

(AP) Four employees hired by a temporary staffing agency to encourage absentee voting for Republican presidential candidate John McCain say they were instructed to tell people they were GOP volunteers.

Kevin Kennedy, director of the state's Government Accountability Board, said he received complaints that the workers were told to mislead voters into believing they were volunteers. The complaints have been forwarded to local district attorneys, he said, but it's unclear whether the alleged deception would be a crime.

The employees told The Associated Press on Monday they were hired by Allstaff Labor Group to go door to door in the Milwaukee suburbs locating McCain supporters and distributing absentee ballot request forms. Allstaff recruited them under a contract with a consulting firm hired by the Republican Party of Wisconsin to run its absentee ballot program.

The workers claim they were told to say they were GOP volunteers even though they were getting paid $10 an hour. They were required to sign agreements stating they would not publicly discuss their work but said they decided to speak out because they were angry they had not been paid for the last few days.

VIRGINIA: Dozens of polling places are experiencing varying degrees of machine malfunctions. Some polling places are either completely closed or have been closed for hours. Thousands of voters may have been turned away illegally by polling workers. Voters have illegally been issued with provisional ballets where machines have been broken.

Students at Virginia Tech, previously the victims of misinformation, have seen their polling place suddenly and unexpectedly moved six miles to a location with little parking.

PENNSYLVANIA: Voting machine malfunctions are widespread and at least a dozen locations, mainly focused on Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Election Protection has received reports of campaign materials being illegally distributed at polling locations in Pittsburgh. Voters across the state are reporting that they never received their absentee ballots, which is creating additional chaos at the polls.

pefros:

whew! I won't comment on who has or who has not made racist comments, as I have seen people called racist for merely criticizing policy, but thanks, because it is my worst fear to be considered racist just because I have a political difference on an issue.

However, just as there are some supporters of whoever who really do secretly hate the US (all present company excluded, of course), that there are some closet (or not so closet) racists out there on the non-Obama side, I have to, unfortunately, acknowledge.

"The moderate Democrats and the Clinton supporters who kept their vow to never support Obama."

Maybe. I didn't support him.

I voted for him anyway. I am a Democrat.

I don't like many of his positions, I think his campaign was one of the most mean spirited I've ever seen, and some of his supporters are really ready for Thorazine, but all of that aside, he's our candidate and he will have to step up to the plate now. It is time for a change.

We're a nation of adventurers and gamblers so we roll the dice with Obama and if it comes up snake eyes, we'll try again in four years with Hillary. If we can take eight years of Bush, we can take anything.

May having be as good as wanting.
