Secretary of State (?) Clinton in Albany
November 14, 2008 4:23 PM
At a New York State Mass Transit Fall Convention today, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., joked about those who had gathered because they were interested in why she'd flown to Chicago Thursday to meet with President-elect Obama, which sources say was related to the Obama team seriously considering her for the position of secretary of state.
"I have to start by saying I am very happy there is so much press attention and interest in transit, especially guesses about my own," Clinton said. "But in the off chance that you're not here for this important issue and are here for some other reason, let me just say that I'm not going to speculate or address anything about the president-elect's incoming administration. And I'm going to respect his process, and any inquiries should be directed to his Transition team."
The Huffington Post reports that "two senior Democratic officials" say Obama yesterday offered Clinton the gig, and Clinton "requested time to consider the offer."

People, please...Obama is not going to appoint Hillary Clinton to anything. This is the same game he played with the VP appointment. He is just playing her for a fool and trying to rebuild his image afer his sexist treatment of her during the campaign. Hillary Clinton would be well advised to stay as far away as possible from the stink of failure that will be rising from the Obama administration over the next four years.

"New York State Mass Transit Fall Convention"
As a citizen of the Empire State I can tell you this much: The People's Republic of New York always get a little extra crazy when the funmeisters from mass transit get together all in one place. Whoa!
Only the first Obama White House Winter Solstice Party in 2009 might top it!

Don't do it Hillary

Marianne
Obama needs to appoint some qualified republicans and independents to his administration to be able to work with republicans in both chambers of congress, to achieve compromises and fast forward a reformed health care, for example.
America has been paralyzed by Republicans and Democrats who can't stand each other, for decades, and we are their victims.
America deserves to be a much better state.
He is proven, so far, to be too partisan like all politicians. It too shameful that many of us believed his message of change.

Hillary take the job, if not Sarah Palin will take it, because she will not let women down and she can see Russia from her bedroom, so there will be a great relationship between the Putin-Medvedev-Putin administration and Barack/Biden administration.

Take the job Hillary

President-elect Obama should be choosing Palin for Secretary of State. Her depth of knowledge and experience in world affairs is stunning.

K. When you said Obama's not qualified at all I agree with you 100%. He certainly isn't qualified to be in the political field. Obama planned to run for president as soon as he became a senator and was reading books on JFK, RFK and MLK in order to set up his campaign. He studied their speeches and used some of them adding additional wording of his own. Obama had a website set up ahead of time to get supporters. We all know that by choosing Bill Clinton's people he would get good training from them because they know what he hasn't learned yet. Hillary is much smarter than he is and not underhanded. Plus wanting to choose republicans in his administration is a gimmick as he is going to run again and he is figuring getting some of the republican votes to win again.

Also, how could two candidates who obviously had no respect for each other in their face off primary, suddenly be too nice and friendly to each other !!!!!!
Were they acting to deceive the American people ? I believe so.
Both Obama and Hillary are too partisan to improve the US.
Evidence: Obama ignored calls from highly respected analysts, who are independent, to appoint well qualified candidates to different posts in his administration.

I agree with don that Hillary has questionable character traits that were obvious in the primaries.
Did you, commentators, forget that she gave her "GO AHEAD
" to invade Iraq !!!!!!
I said before that Mr. Obama brings no change to Washington politics. It was obvious that he is a guy who changes positions on issues to win at any cost.
But, GOP nominee was very bad in other aspects !!!
The two party system proved to be a totl failure.

What?
Hillary should have voted against Iraq war, even if Bush and Co were going to invade anyways. We need honest representatives who vote based on their conscious.
By the way, I don't believe anyone in Washington was deceived by Bush 9/11 and Iraq connection.
Senators and congressmen were afraid to vote No, so they don't look unpatriotic, since Bush arranged the American peoples' mentality in a way that if they object on any issue in the name of fighting terrorism, they will be labeled unpatriotic.
When you say that the nature of politics that candidates take swings at each other, but still friends, means they are liers. Especially that Obama and Hillary had so much policies in common, natural people, in there shoes, would focus more on agenda somehow.

Touch decision...
The highest ranking member of the Presidential cabinet or continuing to be the junior Senator from New York.

I hope she takes the job because we need her or someone just as amazing for the job. I know many feel she should let Obama sink or swim on his own. I can empathize with that but I don't want the country to suffer just because Obama is in way over his head.

I think that both Hillary and Obama are thinking about the country and no personal feelings come into it. I hope that she would accept the job if it is true it has been offered.

Andrea Mitchell is a joke. MSNBC is a joke. Any shred of credbility that NBC/MSNBC had left was destroyed in 2008. They don't even pretend to be unbiased. Boycott them!
Of course Hillary Clinton is qualified to be Secretary of State. However, I don't think she should help Obama. He does not deserve it. Obama disrespected Hillary and Bill Clinton. Hillary has done more than enough for him already.
Of course Hillary Clinton is MORE qualified than Obama to be President. In fact, Obama is not qualified at all.
Hillary 2012!
P.S. Andrea Mitchell's hubbie the old Alan Greenspan helped craft the economic meltdown we are now in the midst of. Thanks for nothing, Alan and Andrea. When I think back of how the media breathlessly followed every move of Alan Greenspan for years....it would be funny if not so tragic...........
Hillary 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't do it Hillary.

Hillary, do not take State if offered. In fact, do not take anything in the Obama administration. Obama has shown himself completely untrustworthy. Take a look under his campaign bus and you will find Rev. Wright, offshore drilling, his pledge to take only public financing, and all other promises he made. In an Obama-centric world only the Messiah matters.
Hillary, Obama wants you on his team only so he can render you powerless to oppose him. Once on his team he will force you to do something that will ruin your reputation, much like Bush did to Powell. Bush sent Powell to the U.N. to lie for him. Once the lies were uncovered Powell's reputation was shot, and he was no longer of any use to Bush. After this Bush cut him loose. Obama will do the same thing to you, Hillary. He needs to destroy you so you cannot oppose him.

I just need to speak this into the cosmos.
Listening to Chris Matts. a while ago.
he was talking to andrea mitchell.
she (in newspaper talk) broke the story.
CM asked mitchell why sen clinton should be Sec. of St.
Andrea Mitchell started listing all of these NEGATIVE THINGS
1.obama wants a rival out of the way
(why would anyone accept a job-if that can be said about them)
2.She will not be able to do anything.
Andrea Mitchell was so NEGATIVE, CM,
stopped her and said, "andrea, my colleague, please you are being so Political-with all of this negative stuff-please, say something postive, about why she should have the job"
To the cosmos:
I CANNOT STAND ANDREA MITCHELL!!!!!
I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW SHE CAN BE CONSIDERED A NEWS REPORTER.
SHE IS SO BIASED. SHE WOULD BE BETTER ON THE VIEW, WITH THE OTHER "GIRLS"
I don't know what sen. clinton did to her, but it is apparent, mitchell does not like clinton, and it must be so much that it impaires her judgement, and her ability to do a good job.
mitchell, should just go home and take care of her husband, al greenspan,
and get out of the news business.
she has lost her objective(if that IS what is needed to be a reporter)
like i said she does not report the news,
she reports her VIEW.
and that is where she should be.
SEN. CLINTON WOULD BE THE BEST AT THIS JOB.
SHE IS LIKE THE PRESIDENT OVERSEAS.
And no matter what obama said in the campaign.
SHE is more known overseas than he is.
SHE WILL GET THE JOB DONE.
and she will get our top standing in the world back.
