Obama's election proves it is time to bury AFFIRMATIVE actions of all kinds, get rid of quotas of all sorts and base it purely on MERIT and ECONOMICS based. Any comments....

Hillary would be perfect for this job. Why waste a smart, national treasure like Hillary Clinton? This country is in tough shape, why not pick our most talented public servants to solve tough problems? Hillary has demonstrated that she can rise above politics.

I think Clinton is a great choice for Obama.

The single biggest issue in long-term his US foreign policy success is negotiating peace between Palestine and Israel.

Can anyone think of a better person to accomplish this win-win goal for President Obama and the world at large than the completely incompetent Sec. Condi Rice's replacement -- the ever-competent Hillary Rodham Clinton?

It would give kudos to everyone, and once again prove how much BushCo missed the mark with his invasion of Iraq.

We all can acknowledge that all kinds of nations want to help Sec Clinton solve the original MidEast crisis, while President Obama solves the world economic crisis and Chuck Hagel helps him resolve the War on Terrorism.

I truly HOPE President-elect Obama has the guts to do this (despite or in spite of the Clinton-hating Wing of his political base).

I am glad they are running these speculation articles, it keeps us from having to hear about PALIN!!!!

People pay closer attention. Obama did not meet with Richardson he spoke with him(hmm by phone) Hillary flew to Chicago to meet with him. So here it is either he wants her to take it or he wants her to pretend to mull it around and the turn it down so he can bee seen as offering her something but she turns it down. I hope she takes it.

It is very strange, but a smart move,
again, obama outsmarted clinton. he is not smarter than clinton.
i thought he had all of these new brains standing in the wings, waiting with a new brand of how to get things done.
i didn't know his plan was to outsmart clinton, and then take all of the clinton people also.
the clinton people were always the smartest people in the room.
and now it seems, they still are.
how will obama, match his new "change"
to these career clinton people, who already know how to get things done?
If obama and co. really thought they were smarter than the clintons and their crew, obama should have had his own people. not hire the smartest from the clintons. that just makes the obama' people still look like
wannabes.
maybe sen. clinton should have been president afterall.

"Cabinet are nominated by the President and then presented to the United States Senate for confirmation or rejection by a simple majority. If approved, they are sworn in and begin their duties. Aside from the Attorney General, and previously, the Postmaster General, they all receive the title Secretary."

infoseek:

"If you havent noticed, after all his HYPE about change, Obama has simply hired every long term clinton cronie to fill his cabinent"

infoseek, President-elect Obama has not filled a single cabinet position . . . if you haven't noticed.

Of course you can hear the razor blades slicing at MSNBC and Jake Tapper here who looks like he wants to kill himself.
All the left wing freaks are still scared of the democratic moderates AKA clinton democrats.

If you havent noticed, after all his HYPE about change, Obama has simply hired every long term clinton cronie to fill his cabinent. Exactly what Hillary would have done.

One day you guys will start to GET who Obama really is.

Every source has indicated its Clintons job if she wants it.

If she was 'just in the running' with Bill Richardson and John Kerry, she wouldnt have gone all the way to Chicago for it.She would have turned it down.

I suspect her name was floated with Richardson and Kerry all last week. This is why she kept ditching the issue and ignoring it up until yesterday when all of a sudden she started singing a different tune.

This to me is when Obama told her its hers if she wants it.

Richardson is the back up for if Clinton turns it down.

The idea of Clinton being Secretary of State makes my blood run cold.

Posted by: Jack | Nov 15, 2008 1:47:55 AM

Hopefully, Hillary will not be our next Secretary of State - her work in the NY Senate should be her 1st priority!!! Richardson is a good choice but don't stop there! Obama is very intelligent and understands the world is watching and all decisions should reflect some non-partisan (considerations)/choices within his cabinet.

I don't think we need Hilliary Clinton in any form of goverment. We have had enough of the Clintons!

Posted by: Ruth | Nov 15, 2008 12:16:12 AM

I dont trust Richardson, he is still a Judas.

Posted by: Sandy | Nov 15, 2008 12:13:13 AM

I still don't trust Hillary. She is so devious. Actually, she is the one who dug up Ayers and falsely associated him with Obama. I don't trust her. She can keep her Senate seat.
Richardson is our man.

un-named sources-
bill's business dealing

the last time i heard bill clinton
CGI was doing good work all around the globe.
from aids meds
to feeding the hungry.
to education
to stopping child labor abuse

has anyone heard that the clinton global init. was doing anything other
than those listed above?
from what i can tell, and i have read the site
CGI is pretty much picking up the ball in areas around the world that the "SUPERPOWER" USA has dropped.

also i might add, all of these news people reporting this, really have no facts. they should be out trying to get some real news-but i guess they are all just sitting around watching each others tv channels, and spinning the same story a different way.
all you have to put at the beginning of the spin is "high level, and un-named"

Obama needs to appoint some qualified republicans and independents to his administration to be able to work with republicans in both chambers of congress, to achieve compromises and fast forward a reformed health care, for example.
America has been paralyzed by Republicans and Democrats who can't stand each other, for decades, and we are their victims.

America deserves to be a much better state.

He is proven, so far, to be too partisan like all politicians. It too shameful that many of us believed his message of change.

ditto jake

The Clinton Global initiative will certainly get a big boost with Hillary's Sec of State clout.

Imagining her as a champion of WORLD health issues does a body good.

Obama is a very intelligent guy who knows how to make the most of what he's got to work with.

God Bless America again for electing him!

Since Obama met with Bill Richardson on Friday for the Secretary of State job, Obama could end up giving the SoS job to Richardson instead of Hillary.

I think the media is getting ahead of itself with crowing Hillary as the next Secretary of State person.
