Team Obama on Pritzker
November 20, 2008 3:22 PM
Obama-Biden Transition Team spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter says, "Penny Pritzker is a trusted adviser and valued friend to the President-elect, and played a critical role in his campaign. She would be an enormous asset to an Obama administration, given her experience in business and economic growth, but has decided that, given her family and business commitments, she is not interested in serving at this time. She'll continue to be a close economic advisor to the president-elect and his team."
And an Obama aide adds, "Penny Pritzker was never submitted for a vet, because she indicated she was not interested in serving at this time. The reports over the last 24 hours are simply not true."

fatcat, the market is unstable because of banks, foreclosures and automakers to name a few reasons. It has nothing to do with Obama.

lagbi, DKNY, and blindfollowers,
You people have no clue, just like our Greatest Leader himself, do you?
The Market is about the future, the expectation by investors to which direction the economy is moving, in the next quarter, the next year and beyond. It is not about what happened in the past 8 years. That damage has been done, a long long time ago on the Market.
Just since our Greatest Leader was elected, the market has tanked more than 30%. It is the Confidence that Investors - perhaps they are the evil 5% rich class that you and our Greatest Leader want to level off any way - has weighed in for the future under our Greatest Leader.
There is absolutely no Confidence in his ability to solve economic problems. He has demonstrated his lack of basic knowledge by ridiculing Hillary's plan to use that $300 billion to target banking and mortgage crisis a year ago, yes, that $300 billion that some of you got $600 check from Mr. 0bama's push for Bush's money giveaway.
Now he is spreading "rumors" or testing "waters" his intention to name his political payback friend Pritzker as the Secretary of DoC. Just this stupid intention in the past two days is enough to tank the Stock Market by 450 points two days in a row.
Bush is irrelevant since two years ago on the economy now.

Let's be honest here. We all expected the Dow to fall if Obama won. One promise we know he'll keep is to increase capital gains taxes, so that was bound to cause some selling off.
But let's be fair. A lot of the market jitters are due to the god-awful short-sighted ill-handled bailout. Investors aren't reassured by what they're seeing so far, causing some of them to bailout themselves rather than go down with the sinking ship of the Dow.
As with most things in Washington, there's plenty of blame to go around. We're in for rough times ahead, no matter who's President.

"Fat Cat" Unfortuntaely, George Bush is still the president and he is operating as a "eunic." Obama has nothing to do with the drop in points!!
I know folks like you called him arrogant, etc. You'll get your turn to throw darts after January 20th!!! In the meantime let us bask in the STRONG leadership of the current Republican administration!! I guess you aren't really interested in us figuring our way out of this fiasco with ideas!! Keep up the paranoia!! Folks like you, Rush and Sean Hannity promoting fear really worked out quite well!!

fat cat, you are hilarious. Are current market problems more likely the fault of the party that's been in the White House for the past 8 years or the guy who was elected two weeks ago.
