Harsh Reviews for Caroline Kennedy, You Know?
December 29, 2008 9:56 AM
In the New York Daily News, Michael Goodwin writes: "Kennedy is not ready for the job and doesn't deserve it. Somebody who loves her should tell her. Her quest is becoming a cringe-inducing experience, as painful to watch as it must be to endure. Because she is the only survivor of that dreamy time nearly 50 years ago, she remains an iconic figure. But in the last few days, her mini-campaign has proved she has little to offer New Yorkers except her name."
The New York Times transcript of its interview with Kennedy reveals her using the verbal tic "you know" 142 times, as first counted by an abacus-wielding Ben Smith.

So, uh Jake, ummm, just, you know, wondering, why you, uh, haven't, you know, painstakingly transcribed? ummm, exerpts from Caroline's interviews, like you know, like you did Sarah Palin's?

I don't think Caroline Kennedy is very accomplished. People have complained before about Bush being born on third base and thinking he hit a home run when he got to fourth base. It is no different here.

Where was all the criticism of Hillary Clinton who can't get through 2 sentences during an interview without saying "you know." Seriously. Give a listen to any of her primary interviews.
Comparisons to Sarah Palin are absurd because Palin's biggest problem was that she was stupid. She couldn't string a coherent sentence together. There is nothing stupid about Caroline. Palin was also extremely devisive. She's George Bush in a dress.

Despite her fancy Ivy League education the fact remains that Caroline Kennedy is an intellectual midget. It is no great accomplishment to get into Harvard when your name is Kennedy. It is also ironic that the same people who trumpet her Ivy League education as evidence of her intellectual capacity are the same people who overlooked Predisent Bush's Yale education when labeling him a moron. She wrote books with the help of a research team and a writing coach. She is another in the long line of the Kennedy family members who uses her last name to feed at the trough of public service.

Mrs. Sclossberg may not have what it
takes to be the senator from N.Y.....
but she's so damned beautiful, let's
just GIVE it to her. At least she wears
a dress....unlike her predecessor, and
as far as we know, is not married to
a skirt-chaser.....as far as we know.
Besides, she earned her fortune the old
way...by being born, NOT from her
husband's dealings with mid-east potentates and enemies of our country.

Why didn't someone count how many times Obama said Uh or you know during the campaign? That was every bit as irritating,

During the VP debate, Sarah Palin said "also" 48 times, "again" 23 times, and "too" 14 times.
Caroline's verbal TICitude beats Sarah's by a long shot.

Caroline Kennedy will be perfect for that seat. She won't vote any different than Clinton or Monahan. And in a northeast blue state like NY she can rein until she can run for president. Those voters will rubber stamp her in that office for the next 30 years.

The more Caroline Kennedy opens her mouth, the more convinced I am that if we didn't permit trusts to exist in America the present day Kennedys would all be broke.
There would be a helluva lot of rich bartenders and hookers up and down the East Coast.
And Caroline would be behind the counter at a Madison Avenue boutique, and not a customer.
Any comparisons between Sarah Palin and Caroline Kennedy are totally out of line.
Palin has actually run for office (and won) a bunch of times. She has successfully run both a city and a State government. And she is wholly self-made.
Kennedy on the other hand is a typical member of this generation of her family-- great educational resume (although I think we all know how they got into those schools), light on brains (remember her brother took a few times to pass the bar), heavy on press-fed mystique, and carrying a huge load of entitlement.
Someone once called the Royal Family of Britain England's most famous welfare family. Except that it's Joe's bootleg money, and not taxpayer's funds, the Kennedy's are our's.
People are sniping at Gov. Paterson for failing to appoint her quickly, to end these attacks on her. Our Governor-by-hooker is showing himself to be a pretty adept politician. He is simply waiting, letting this incompetent dilettante burn herself out in the press, then he can pick whom he chooses.
Smart Governor.
Typical Kennedy.

"The last impression many voters had of Caroline was when she was campaigning for Obama. She did great."
"Great"? She was a simpering shill, you know, doing a celebrity endorsement, and didn't actually, you know, SAY anything.
And don't forget that she couldn't even bestir herself to, you know, VOTE in the system at the top of which she now, you know, wants to start being "political", after a life of disdaining politics.

What is most disturbing thing about the AP article is it has been clean-up. If YOU-TUBE had not put the video up we would never know. Shame on the AP.

Caroline Kennedy is just a warmed over Sarah Palin...YOU KNOW
__
Really? I haven't heard Kennedy tell whoppers like she was against the bridge to nowhere and didn't accept the federal funding for it even though she wasn't and she did.
I haven't heard Kennedy quote an anti-semite like Westbrook Pegler, as Palin did in her convention speech.
So obviously YOU DON'T KNOW.

Caroline even has Drudge on the front page saying "You know" for the last 24 hours :-D
Unless Patterson is already committed to Andrew Cuomo, then Caroline is still in the running.
New York is going to need all the help it can get and Caroline has shown that she can You know get the media attention even when this isn't a campaign. Where Caroline Kennedy stands on the issues that matter to New York compared to a Republican rival like Peter King might be helpful to the voters?
The last impression many voters had of Caroline was when she was campaigning for Obama. She did great.

Jenny 5:54:40,
I totally agree with you.
Every time I watch Hillary back on the campaign, I feel so sad.
Thanks for your opinion.

I remember the night Sarah Palin gave her speech at the republican convention, Rachel Maddow said Palin better clean-up her grammar. I wonder what she thinks of Caroline's grammar. It's really funny how it's no big deal when it's your party.
Posted by: Ken | Dec 29, 2008 6:25:43 PM
Jenny, I agree with you completely, I am now an independent.
