Iran Urges PEBO to Revise U.S. Approach

December 08, 2008 10:12 AM

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Sunday that the U.S. has been "hostile" to Iran for the past 30 years, and he suggested President-elect Barack Obama revise those policies.

ABC News' Lara Setrakian points out that the Iranian News Agency reports that Mottaki said the election "provided a chance for the U.S. to change its outlook and repair its defeated image, he said adding that Obama is now considered as the U.S. last chance to this end. Regarding the opening of U.S. interest section in Tehran, he said the issue has been regarded as a media campaign and the response has been given on the same track."

Thanks for the history lesson, Abraham. I agree that there's has to be a better and a more mature way than the carrot and stick approach. A better sense of Iran's culture and history could go a long way. I hope we get more knowledgeable people working in the Middle East field.

My friends;

The current government in Iran, is a production of US policy. Over 50 years ago when most American didn't know where Middle Est is, Iran democraticaly ellected a prime Minister called Mossadegh. American and British toppled him and replaced him with the Shah. In turn Shah managed over 30 years produce Mullahs and Communist. When people of Iran wanted to change Shah, American government under Carter Administration chose Mullah (Khmeini) over Communist, because there was no alternative. Now, Americans complain about Mullahs when actually is production of their failed policy. In my viwe, American need a new approach, and not this old carrots and stick policy. Iranians are not kids and more civilized than some give them credit for. Thanks.

I disagree Jen -Iran is actually a more stable government because it's highly autocratic and controlled. It ain't necessarily so that stable means good.

Gee Chuck - Sounds like a threat from Iran to me. These idiots in Iran have to right to give us any advice or suggestions concerning governing. They would not know a stable government if it jumped up and bit them in the arse.

"We are all waiting to see what will finally become of the US president-elect's oft-stated promises of change. Obama may well be Washington's last chance for change," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was quoted by press tv as saying on Sunday."

Maybe ABC news needs to get better translations. Or stop skewing them so they look worse.

It's just complicated, like a Byzantine labyrinth.

Read Ezekiel chapters 37, 38, and 39 and this will give you the blueprint of what is happening now and in the near future.

Yep, sounds reasonable to me. Lets just let Mottaki come to DC and write these new "policies" himself. Just to make sure we get it right!

LOL !!!!!!

Gee I knew the Iranian leadership was nut but I did not realize how deep that insanity goes.
