Obama Opposes Blago Action
December 30, 2008 5:53 PM
President-elect Obama released this statement on Gov. Blagojevich appointing someone to fill Mr. Obama's remaining Senate term:
"Roland Burris is a good man and a fine public servant," said Obama, "but the Senate Democrats made it clear weeks ago that they cannot accept an appointment made by a governor who is accused of selling this very Senate seat. I agree with their decision, and it is extremely disappointing that Gov. Blagojevich has chosen to ignore it. I believe the best resolution would be for the governor to resign his office and allow a lawful and appropriate process of succession to take place. While Gov. Blagojevich is entitled to his day in court, the people of Illinois are entitled to a functioning government and major decisions free of taint and controversy."

Sorry gerald, just simply because you say something doesn't make it true . .. and some talking points are absolutely the truth.
Corruption is the Bush family and their ties to the non-democratic Saudis and oil Kingdoms, and Cheney moving from Halliburton to the Vice-Presidency and the ensuing single source contracts and the gorging of money to their oil, banking and military industrial buddies.

"Who should end up in jail?"
We're guessing the answer isn't "only Rezko".

The Supreme Court of Illinois
will soon rule that, in this
matter, the secretary of state
is merely a pencil pusher and
will direct him to sign the
governor's proclamation.

The secretary of state has to recognize the Senator... Which he hasn't.

Who should end up in jail?
The U.S. Attorney in Chicago.

Obama opposes Blago action.
Doesn't mean squat.
Burris is in. He's been legally
appointed U.S. Senator from the
state of Illinois by governor
Blagojevich.

Interesting to see all these anti-Obama types desperately scratching around for any little bit of dirt on Obama . . . and coming up with so little in the way of corruption.
Corruption is the Bush family and their ties to the non-democratic Saudis and oil Kingdoms, and Cheney moving from Halliburton to the Vice-Presidency and the ensuing single source contracts and the gorging of money to their oil, banking and military industrial buddies.

If Burris had any ethical decency, he would have declined. The African American community have nothing to do with the corruption in Illinois. Blago is trying to use the African American community by getting them involved in this Senate mess.
At 71, Burris could not win a major election in Illinois but is willing to slither his way into the Senate.
Burris is tainting his good name and reputation for Blago.
What have Blago promised him??????????
WHAT A STUPID MESS!!!!!

Whoever it is they should know that the real 'Humpty Dumpty' is the GOP.
They have crashed and burned. We'll have to see who really ends up in jail.

Hey Belle, what senate meddling? Please tell us what info you have that the Federal Govt. doesn't?

Mariann, just because PE Obama (learn some respect lady) is going against the appointment of a black man isn't going to send blacks into a frenzy! Sorry dear, we read, we write, we can think beyond color! Of course we would be suspect of any appointment made by the Gov. and the best way for this accomplished gentleman to get the senate seat is to wait and see what the outcome of the Gov. issue's are! Also the gentleman that you are so busy connecting PE Obama to received a very large grant from a committee John McCain headed, maybe you should do your research before you try and connect PE Obama to people you find unsavory!

"Wait until he gets into office."
IF he gets into office: Barry's unseemly Senate meddling may loosen enough lips that he (Axelrod? Emanuel?) will wind up, for all we know, sharing a cell with Rezko.
If He DOES take office, no amount of press buffing and Cheshire Cat grin is going to put the shine back: Humpty Dumpty has had a great fall.

jeff: You are so right about Obama. He burns the candles at both ends. He is as backhanded as they come. The only reason he won the nomination is because Nancy, Dean and Reid made their deals with the superdelegates for favors granted if they switch their votes. Hillary had more superdelegates than Obama but they switched. Dean gave Obama half of Hillary's delegates from MI and FL to make sure she didn't get the nomination. And Obama discussions with Clinton's people before he won the nomination thru Axelrod. His nomination was a farce and he didn't deserve it. It was taken from Hillary and the Clinton's were well aware of that fact. But there is an old saying "you reap what you sow" and he will be doing plenty of sowing yet. Wait until he gets into office.

Belle Starr: You are absolutely right. Did you know that Obama use to be friends with a man connected to the PLO now Hamas and he was invited to dinner at Obama's house several times. He is a pretense. He doesn't have the capabilities to run this country. Hillary will have to clean up the mess for him. He will be president in name only and Cinton's people will be running the country for him. He wanted the presidency to show that a half black man could be president and he duped the public. I didn't vote for him and never will.

shalom: What makes you think Obama will be elected again? Going against Burris being appointed may be his downfall with the black people. Besides that, he has no say so in this matter. The governor is in power right now and Reid, Durbin and Jesse White should shut their mouth and mind their own business. By degrading Burris they are going to get a backlash from blacks on the southside of Chicago. I can't wait to hear about it.

Steve: Your wrong about Burris. He knows more about politics than Obama hasn't learned yet. And Obama is not as smart as people think. He duped the public. He picked Clinton's people because he needs all the help he can get. He lacks the experience to run this country. Hillary will have to take care of the mess in Israel

(re-post corrects typing error)
"There's only one Governor of Illinois at a time", and the prima donna PEBO ain't it.
When the slaughter in Gaza called for a statement from Barry, there was none -- any statement would have put him up against His promise to AIPAC that Israel is "sacrosanct" ...
At the same time, The One made PLENTY of statements about the Illinois Senate seat he vacated to avoid another "bailout" vote.
Prematurely imperious, the flighty figurehead wants to tell the state of Illinois AND the US Senate what to do, after abandoning both.
Hope for revelations from Illinois to derail His coronation. The bloom is off this frail flower.

"the opposition party's leader."
Both of the ruling political parties in the US have been hijacked by special interests: the Republicans by the neo-cons, the Democrats by whatever you call the Chicago machine that's installed Obama/Biden et al.
As a Democrat, my hope is that democratic forces will be able to upset the mob-friendnly Chicago organization's apple cart without an actual domestic uprising. And indeed, it looks as though this is beginning to happen.
Barry Obama's never won a fair election, or a fair rhetorical fight -- like He says, he's the guy who brings a gun to the knife fight.
Note that if you don't like what I write, you don't have to read it.
