PEBO and Gore to Meet Tuesday
December 08, 2008 3:40 PM
President-elect Barack Obama and Vice President-elect Joe Biden will meet with former Vice-President Al Gore in Chicago tomorrow in Chicago "to discuss energy and climate change and how policies in this area can stimulate the economy and create jobs."
Gore endorsed Obama in June and the two spoke regularly throughout the election season.
Obama has spoken multiple times of his fondness of the former Veep and the fact that he would draw upon his expertise on climate change in his administration.
On Apr. 2, at a campaign event in Wallingford, Penn., then-Senator Obama was asked if he would bring Gore into a Cabinet position to help deal with climate change.
"I would," Obama answered, "Not only will I but I will make a commitment that Al Gore will be at the table and play a central part in us figuring out how we solve this problem. He’s someone that I talk to on a regular basis, I’m already consulting with him in terms of these issues."
Those close to the situation suggest that it is highly unlikely that Gore will accept a Cabinet position.

Scientists (not politicians and celebrities) understand that solar activity influences temperature changes by deflecting gamma rays that would otherwise help create cooling clouds. We are now in a period of lessened solar activity, which will result in increased clouds and cooler weather. The links have been proven by studying thousands of years of ice cores. We've had warming and cooling cycles for thousands of years, long before SUVs and power plants. "Gore-Bull" warming is a load of nonsense fed to fools in order to encourage one-world socialism. Period. Don't sell your winter coats and snow boots yet.
Gore is an idiot, and Obama knows it, but because he can help establish socialism, that's good enough for him.

"As of Jan 21 2009, there will be NO talk of a bad economy.. everything is going to be portrayed as "rosey""
And henceforth, Gore will be referred to as "Gorey."

I need to cut back or stop this altogether. Probably stop altogether since this has become, I'm afraid, an addictive behavior. Goodnight and bye.

Woody - I wasn't trying to be scientific. I just stated my observation that the climate has changed drastically and it hasn't done it on its own. I don't anxiously await for the technological and scientific standards of the Pentagon to deny or confirm man made global warming, though as I said previously, it would be in their self interest to deny it. No thanks, I'm perfectly comfortable as an unscientifically informed and ideological proponent of man made global warming. So excuse me, I have some trees to hug.

Ryan,
Have you looked up Global Investment Management yet?
Can you name for me one specification that NASA/GISS must adhere to before they can publish their information?

kat,
What you propose is not scientific in the least. In fact, you're proving my point. Your comments are clearly painted with your political beliefs and contain no factual reference or probing questions.
Observation is just one step in the scientific process and the folks at NASA/GISS have much to learn in that field. They rely on an antiquated collection of thermometers placed around the globe, managed by no central organization and less than 5% are placed correctly according to their own specifications.
Question: Why would NASA have more faith in a ground based system of disparate measurement devices of dubious operational capacity over a system of - wait for it - satellites to collect temperature data?
Question: What happened to the Little Ice Age and the Medieval Warm Period in Mann's Hockey Stick graph? BTW, they were present in IPCC AR1 and mysteriously disappeared in subsequent revisions. Care to explain?
If you want to talk about the science, or lack thereof, that's been conducted to produce the UN IPCC reports I would be happy to do so. If you prefer to say, "I can observe that the climate has changed in an unprecedented fashion, therefore we're in grave danger and it's all our fault", we can do that too. But that would be a political debate, not a scientific one.
I eagerly await the "return to science" that everyone is heralding. Let's start with a forensic audit of NASA/GISS data, methodology and computer software. You with me?

The February edition of The National Liberty Journal, edited and published by the Reverend Jerry Falwell, contained an article warning parents the Teletubby "Tinky Winky" may be a gay role model. The publication says Tinky Winky has the voice of a boy but carries a purse. It says: "He is purple the gay-pride color; and his antenna is shaped like a triangle -- the gay-pride symbol."
FYI- More about Tinky Winky, the martyred Teletubby. Kind of off topic, but it's an interesting addition to my previous post.

I think one of the Tele Tubbies almost got named Pebo. But then some extremists thought it sounded too similar to pee. The name was changed, but then the same fringe group accused the same Tele Tubby as being gay. So really, Judi, there's got to be something better than PEBO.

Oh, I dunno...PEBO kinda grows on ya and it has a nice ring to it.

Woody - The observable overrides politically influenced science, meaning that it's unmistakable that the climate has changed drastically in just the last years and it can't be doing it on its own. If the Pentagon acknowledged man made global warming, then they would be under accountability themselves. Reasonable accountability long needed, like proper waste storage and the acknowledgment that bombing wreaks extensive havoc on ecosystems.

"What most people don't know is the field of so called climate science would never stand up to military specifications in the areas of data collection, falsification, quality assurance, reproducability and on and on."
ROFLMAO.
Because the Pentagon never rushed an untested weapons system into the field or got data wrong.

I hope 'GIONG ELECTRIC' and 'THE RECHARGING NETWORK' will be the integral part of the fresh plan.

Of course Gore would never accept a cabinet position because he would have a huge conflict of interest when any talk of "cap and trade" or "carbon credits" arises. Look up Global Investment Management. Gore stands to make a fortune of historic proportions if any form of carbon trading is enacted in this country.
In a related story, the Pentagon is toning down their Climate Change preparedness needs, stating, "the scientific data on what is causing global warming is 'contradictory'". The alarmist crowd is growing worried. What most people don't know is the field of so called climate science would never stand up to military specifications in the areas of data collection, falsification, quality assurance, reproducability and on and on. I would welcome nothing more than for the Pentagon to demand that NASA's GISS team (Hansen) adhere to Pentagon's scientific and technological standards. Only then will we know if today's warming is mostly man-made, catastrophic or unprecedented. Right now no one knows, least of all Al Gore.

"Enough of these PEBO headliners"
Agreed.
How about P-E Barack Obama or P-E Obama?
Posted by: Ryan C | Dec 8, 2008 4:29:03 PM
Enough of these PEBO headliners. Sounds like the name of a Japanese cartoon figure and it distracts you from the content. Anyways, I wonder if Robert F kennedy is gonna head the EPA.
