Much ado about nothing. Clinton will want to do an excellent job to either ensure she is the Dem candidate in 2016 or to make her legacy in foreign policy.
JL, you really tell it like it is. I can't believe the level of complaints about Obama before he is even officially the president but all Bush's tragic mistaken decisions get a 'aw, he's trying his best', from the very same people.
I am glad I've taught my three kids to never follow any leader blindly but to use logic when looking at them. That is one of the reasons we all voted for Obama. He is appointing very qualified people, not people owed political favors, to these very important posts. (Bush fans, don't forget 'Brownie' and the tragedy and expense that resulted from just that one under-qualified appointment. And there were lots of others.)

There is a huge drug war moving into the USA from Mexico. We have 47 million Americans withouthealthcare. Seniors cannot afford their prescriptions. Two bankrupting quagmire wars fought on the credit card that is maxed out already, a financial meltdown due to eight years of unregulated looting by corporate friends of the Republican party, and we have lost sight of what will really make us sustainable back here at home while spending huge amounts on bailouts and wars that reward evil and punish responsible people. But nevertheless we are going to strain at a gnat after we have swallowed the camel of eight years of George W. Bush. I guess Republican hypocrisy just never ends.Great work for the congressional double standard mentality at work. After giving us 8 years of Clinton presiding over prosperity, a balanced budget, plus a surplus in many areas, now the reward for Bill Clinton being influentioal enough with foreign countries to raise funds for charity might nevertheless now raise questions that could be stumbling blocks for Hillary's approval. We seem as a country to be on track for a bunch of Republican headless horsemen who during the last eight years of their 'messiah' George W. Bush let the sky fall in on the rest of us, now these hypocrites are going to outdo themselves with being 'ethics hawks' as a followup to their own monumental malfeasance and incompetence that led our country and the world into the worst economic depression since the 1930's. Why don't these right wing clowns just get rid of all of their posturing
and start over? You could do much worse than Hillary Cllinton. Neocon politicos are choking while straining on this gnat, before Barack Obama even gets into office. Come on, boys and girls, stop playing the 'ruffled feathers' game and approve someone who stands a good chance of correcting at least a portion of the mistakes you right wingers have made for at least the last 8 years. Is the petty little neocon potlicker looking for a smidge of black to add to his-her kettle to avoid looking in the mirror for his or her own incompetance?
How ridiculous all this phony alarmism is in light of major Republican connections to foreign campaign donors. Look at the Bush connection to the Saudi's for example. Ironically, those who show so much alarm ought themselves to be on a bus heading straight to prison for their key role in ruining our country. Saddle up, hypocrites.

I thought Hillary Clinton was very impressive throughout.
Aren't all the Clinton and Obama Haters looking like small and petty people today?
Obama has 80% of America behind him right now, willing to work together to turn our nation around.
HOPE-fully the other 20% will either come aboard and help us, or move to Crawford with the Worst President Ever.

He said during the campaign that Gitmo should be closed. He is moving to close it. How is that flip-flopping? You don't just close it in one day. It will take time. The point is that he is going to do what he said: close Gitmo. Your using that as an example of flip-flopping is way off.

aware2u: guess that is what is great about this country. We each can see what we want to see and interpret things differently. And you have the right to be completely wrong. LOL
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:55:22 PM
William J. LePetomane:
Gitmo is a good example of flip flopping but we don't have a clue which way the wind will blow when he is actually in office!
I reiterate that PEBO has a gift for obfuscating communication and covering his butt!
That is politically smart but does not demonstrate wisdom or authenticity! :)
Posted by: aware2u | Jan 13, 2009 4:39:21 PM
He also has a plan for the next big bunch of TARP dollars to be dolled out, with accountability. Does not sound like equivocation to me.
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:38:14 PM
aware2u: perhaps you'd be willing to let him be innaugurated first before condemning every action. He has assembled a first rate team. He is trying to move the Congress, even now before he is sworn in, to pass the stimulus package. He is moving toward closing Gitmo. Where is the equivocation and flip-flopping?
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:30:47 PM
To William J. LePetomane:
PEBO equivocates and flip flops because so many people are whispering in his inexperienced ear that he is like a reed blowing in the wind.
Will the far left-wing stiffen PEBO's spine in their direction as planned or...?
PEBO is above all a pragmatist who is very good at covering his butt in light of a more global position after his time as President of the USA!
His primary skill is obfuscating communication! :)

Sorry Mildred, that last post was in response to aware2u, who thinks Obama is the darling of the left. LOL
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:23:36 PM
Mildred: you contradict yourself. You just said that Clinton is not qualified and should not be seated. Now you say she is our "only hope" until 2012. So which is it?
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:21:53 PM
Mildred: PEBO is much less qualified!
Hillary as SOS is our only hope until 2012! :)
Posted by: aware2u | Jan 13, 2009 4:17:34 PM
aware2u: are you paying attention? If anything, Obama is being criticized by the left wing. He has MOVED TO THE MIDDLE. Wake Up. He is a centrist.
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:16:40 PM
PEBO was groomed to be the puppet for the far left-wing!
Hillary is a puppet for no one!
So who is in charge? :)
Posted by: aware2u | Jan 13, 2009 4:14:01 PM
Mildred: what would be on your list of qualifications?
Posted by: William J. LePetomane | Jan 13, 2009 4:02:19 PM
Clinton is not qualified and should not be seated.
Posted by: Mildred | Jan 13, 2009 4:01:36 PM
Karen: "how did we get ourselves into this?" Two answers
1. It is called an election
2. It was an electoral LANDSLIDE

Bell Star- I agree with you on some points, especially that his presidency will set blacks back as an African American. I feel that the Obama Presidency once exposed for what it and he is(Puppet)will lessen the opportunity for my child to become president and it will play the race card to the hilt, if you do not agree you will be racist period and the administration will be myered in hearings and charges stemming from racism, that will be the fall back for every wrong move.

Hot seats are good. They are better than cold seats.

The morning round of Q's for Hillary has generally been polite and the Republicans have stayed way from direct confrontation over Bill's charity stuff. We'll see how much that changes once everything reconvenes at 2.
