I wish the children well. It's not their fault they had to go to Jeremiah Wright's United Church of Hate.

I didnt notice. Does it say which government school the children will be attending, since BO is such a true believer in govt schools?

Enough...1 photo opp, one small story...Millions of kids each day go to school. Many "switch" schools mid year...(What aboiut our military kids?) THIS IS NOT NEWS!!!
Please focus on what is important...
The Obama's can't ask for privacy for their children and then "mug" for photos and new stories provided by their "transition" team. Please get prioroties straight! You cannot ask for privacy for your family and then "promote" them for a two day photo fest!
Say what you mean and mean what you say! Hopefully this is not a glimpse of what we can expect in the next four years!

Why should the Palestinians give up their land to Israel. Was it not Israelis - in the first place- who barged in, compliments of UK, and forced the Palestinians off their land. Israelis have either been GIVEN OUTRIGHT, or PROMISED OUTRIGHT - By UK, that this land is their land - all of it; hence the sixty-one year struggle.
Why else has UK moved to establish Israel as a country and until this day - sixty-one years later, they still refuse to grant Palestine the status of a country?
How on earth can this be a fair deal?
Arabs and Jews have co-existed in relative peace for thousands of years. Go figure the problem and somewhere along the way a solution will be found.
On the other hand, the problem remains that no one wants to find a solution; not UK, not US, not France, not Israel; because UK gave Israelis the right to all of the land - SO THERE!

and catleya,
the obama don't have to offer an "excuse?" for having sent their kids to a private school.
it really is none of our business, people should be able to send their kids to school anywhere they can afford to send them.

I think they should stop talking about the obama kids, leave them alone, who care, i am not saying that in a mean spirit, but everyone has their children to worry about and take care of, enough with the hero worship stuff.
a "news reporter" on cnn asked the question How close will the secret service be to them? do we really need to have that talked about?
these kids and their needs are no different than any of the other kids who have lived in the white house, I don't remember all the attention be given to any of the others.
let the obama deal with raising their children the way they see fit, and let obama get on with the governing of this country, and let us raise our kids they way we see fit.
enough with the obama kids already.

I understand if President's kids have to go to Private school for their privacy or security etc but in Chicago they went to Private school too.
What Obamas excuse sent them to Private school in Chicago?

Enough of these children. I have no interst in them at all. There is much more important things to know about. Next are you going to tell us what they had for lunch. STOP

Whoop-t-do.....just another photo-op.

This whole thing about the kids is being blown way out of proportion. Private schools are by far the best choice if no other reason than security.
It would be nice if people would leave the kids out of all the political stuff.
There is no reason why a politician's kids should be brought into the fray.
Unfortunately, the liberals have shown by the treatment of the Palin family that they are incapable of doing that.

Peace Train,
WHY do you think Hamas is using the civilian population of Gaza in this way?
It would not happen to be that this is the way to foster more & more hatred towards Israel and the US now would it?
This is the world we live in now. These are the kinds of conflicts that we will be dealing with from now on for the most part. The enemy will not be an army of a particular country. It will be organized guerilla cells. These cells will be more than willing to create situations where civilian casualties are always maximized.
If you are going to fight such groups, you must understand that the collateral damages will be high. You cannot fight them with “our rules of morality”. The idea of fighting a war with levels of restrictions means we are doomed to repeat the failures of Vietnam.

"The press needs to leave these little girls alone. The President's children should be off limits. Let them be children."
But it's only 3 pictures, in which they appear happy and secure, and they're provided by the transition team.

BIG DEAL....This isn't news. Chap-Stik anyone?

Peace Train - - -I think "security" was on the top of the lists when they were looking for schools for the girls. It's easier to monitor them in a private school setting than it is in a publis school situation.

The real solution to this is to give the Palestines there own country. Why should Israel give up there land for another sovereign nation. I sugggest they be moved to another muslim country and let them truly establish their nation. Saudi Arabia has vast land that could be developed. They will always feel like squatters while occuppying land that Israel keeps giving them. These two nations will never coexist peacefully. Some need to come up with a better solution than the current one.

Ajax when are Israel and the United States going to acknowledge the right of the Palestinians to exist like human beings instead of caged animals that are being denied even the basics needed to survive?
Posted by: Peace Train | Jan 5, 2009 1:06:26 PM
As I stated. I don't want to see any children get killed.
But, if you have a suggestion to stop HAMAS from firing missles into Southern Israel and KILLING ISRAELI CHILDREN and other Civilians, I would love to hear it!

@Peace Train,
So, you are fine with Israeli Children getting killed by Hamas Missle attacks?
