Biden Pupdate

March 19, 2009 1:51 PM

ABC News' Barry Freeman reports:

Some of you who follow this blog have complained that the media has been reporting too much fluff in the coverage of the new first and second puppies. Well, how about another bone for all of you hard news hounds to chew on? If you are like me though, and have a soft place in your heart for anything puppy, here is a little kibble for you to savor and enjoy.

It was reported by ABC News' Matt Jaffe back in December, right after the Bidens got their new German Shepherd pooch, that Champ would be the name of the new puppy.

We now find out this week that the Veep's "best friend" has been attending obedience school.

A pal of the Bidens', Mark Tobin, who heads Delaware's New Castle County Police K-9 unit, has been giving Champ preliminary training.

Tobin told the Washington Post: "We wanted him to get used to a lot of environmental changes."

Apparently, the pooch is acting like a champ and has done well in his studies. Next month, he heads back to Delaware for advanced obedience lessons.

We are wondering if by then Champ will be ready to meet the K-9 Secret Service German Shepherds at the Naval Observatory.

No word yet on the arrival of the second canine that the Bidens have said they will adopt as a buddy for Champ. He reportedly will be a golden retriever.

Meanwhile, down on Pennsylvania Avenue at the White House, Michelle Obama has said that the first puppy -- likely a Portuguese water dog -- which was promised to Sasha and Malia, will, per People magazine, arrive sometime in April after spring vacation.

Stay tuned.

ROFLMAO! Update: the woman who sold him this dog is getting death threats from the PC/PETA/Liberal mobs, the same people who voted him in. That makes my whole day! That'll teach her not to take their "honors"...

Lighten up people. The dog needs training, especially because of his size. The better the training the better the dog. Anyone can do it, so don't go vp hating because his is coming from a k9 trainer. good grief!! If you are so concerned about tax payers money why didn't you do something when Bush was sending it all to IRAQ. You know, not minding the store, foreclosures, etc. On his watch!

It's wonderful that Presidents and Vice Presidents suddenly become dog lovers and owners.

Outstanding update!!! Thank you from someone who loves Joe Biden and the Biden family as well as anything puppy dog. Daily we read the worse kind of news, and an update on little Champ warms my heart at least for a little while. Thank you for including this information, it made my day. Everyone else who finds it trivia should probably scroll past, ignore, move on to the darkness; I for one am delighted and happy for my Vice President and Champ ;-)

I misworded my comment but I think most of you know what I meant to say: that I have a soft spot in my heart for my child and worry about anything that threatens his future.

I want him to grow up living in a democracy, and I want the MSM to start doing its job. There has been far too much fluff and that is why people are sick of it.

I have a LARGE space in MY heart for anything that threatens the future of my child!

For example: the massive burden of debt because of Obama's spending and his far left-wing policies.

I am concerned about my child's freedom. I want my child to live in a democracy not a socialist republic.

While these puppy stories might be fun in a less pressing national atmosphere, the time is way past due for MSM to get serious and hold Obama accountable.

Jake, please keep your eye on the ball. You are one of the few who has not squandered the precious right of freedom of the press.

"Geithner and Summers AIG Bonus Timeline"

The blog deletes all links without prejudice but the name of the article should allow people to find it.

So is the dog being trained by the police K-9 unit? I.e. using tax payer money or is this guy doing it on the side as a favor? I love dogs too, just wondering if I can take my dog to my local K-9 unit for some training is all.

"Sheesh. Any news to avoid reporting the inane comments of the US President:"

A clue for the ignorant.

The blogs recent posts are too the left.

So before blasting the blog for not covering something, actually check to see if they have done so before making a fool of yourself.

I must confess, I allow a small portion of my heart for anything NON-puppy!

Sheesh. Any news to avoid reporting the inane comments of the US President:

"The same is true with AIG. It was the right thing to do to step in. Here's the problem. It's almost like they've got -- they've got a bomb strapped to them and they've got their hand on the trigger. You don't want them to blow up. But you've got to kind of talk them, ease that finger off the trigger."
