Barack's Beauties
April 30, 2009 9:08 AM
ABC News' Yunji de Nies reports:
There are some pretty good looking people at the White House, or at least so says People Magazine. The glossy's "100 Most Beautiful" issue this year features first lady Michelle Obama, along with a "Barack's Beauties" section with White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, and White House Chef Sam Kass. The president's right hand man, personal aide Reggie Love and his speech writer, Jon Favreau also made the list. The stunners at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue join the ranks of Christina Applegate, Jennifer Lopez, Angelina Jolie and George Clooney.
The first lady credits her family's support to making her feel beautiful and confident as an adult. "I had a father and a brother who thought I was beautiful, and they made me feel that way every single day," she tells the magazine. "I grew up with very strong male role models who thought I was smart and fast and funny, so I heard that a lot. I know that there are many young girls who don’t hear it."
The 100 Most Beautiful issue hits newsstands May 1st. A sneak peek with the first lady's featured photo can be found HERE.

Nicholas Geithner... is hot?!?
He looks (and sounds) like the love child of Smithers and Mr. Burns.

Congratulations to Jon Favreau for being included in the "TIME Top 100 Listing" under "Scientific & Thinkers"
It has always been evident from his days at Holy Cross the true talent that Jon has.
But like many attacks on The President, people never take into consideration the complete background and hard work they put into the community before they entered politics.

you people are so rude people are people and for you to judge that makes you more ugly than the people they are talking about

Jake,
How about a FOIA request for a copy of the President's mom's passport? Please blow all of these 'birth cert. kooks' out of the water and show that she was in Hawaii, not Kenya, on August 4,1961.
(unless that is a state secret too)

I don't like her husband.. but I hope to never say anything negative about his beautiful and poised wife.. she is the better half.. as with many couples.

"And you do get it? That's why you chose not to comment here - oh wait, you just did!"
I am utterly awed by the inability of many of you to assess what is happening in front of you. Me commenting on this thread is indicative of nothing. I never complained about the story. They write a million pieces a day. Occasionally, they write or reference a fluff piece. Big freaking deal. Don't like it, go to another site. You all wouldn't know what to do with yourselves if you weren't moaning or acting like a fool.
There are plenty of "NEWS" stories on abcnews.com. I recommend not clicking on those that are clearly fluff pieces if you're looking for more substance. I know it's difficult, but give it a shot.

Wouldn't it be more interesting to know how the President's WH Chief of Staff made $20 million in less than 2 yrs on wall st? He doesn't even have an MBA.
Yet, the President said himself 'wall st. pay is part of the problem?"
But no, we have to hear about how 'beautiful' he is.
Yeah, Silky, that is some hard news.
And, congratulations on your 12th birthday this year.

silky,
Good to know you are an apologist for ABC news and their inability to know what entertainment and real news is...
Are you twittering Oprah right now?
Check with George S....he may be.
YOU don't get it.Go to E! and comment on the WH.

Silky "ABC knows exactly where that line is. It's you, apparently, who doesn't. There are a million pieces in these blogs and on the website, yet you choose this one to comment on? Yeah, it's ABC who doesn't get it."
And you do get it? That's why you chose not to comment here - oh wait, you just did!

Well, Miss Michelle you certainly wouldn't hear that from me!

Too bad they aren't as smart as some think these folks are beautiful. The MSM has to say something nice since
they are the ones that got oblubber
elected.

"For the first time in my life I am
ashamed of my country." If we are
stooping to this kind of bs...what
are we going to become.

I have not ever respected the most beautiful people lists, and here is yet another great reason. I guess beauty is what's on the inside, liberals are pretty, and conservatives are gross, at least that's what the editors for this pathetic rag think. I have to agree with most of the comments on here regarding Geithner. I haven't looked at the pictures they have for these people, but how much photoshopping did they do?

I think that the dog BO should be on the list. I mean that be one GOOD HOTTY DOGGY!!! he look so good with ms. Michelle toting his leash like that. I like's that 1st dog. he be beuatifulness.

This story is as relevant as the dog story.
ABC you are losing it, there are more important things to report on than how great looking Obama's white house is.

More info on that "stunner" Rahm Emanuel:
(thread below picks up after Wiki section stating Emanuel - with his Speech & Communication degree, mind you - made $16.2 million as an investment banker in 2.5 years - sounds like type of person his current boss has excoriated and blamed for "the economic mess we are in" at every turn)
"Emanuel was named to the Board of Directors for the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation ("Freddie Mac") by then President Bill Clinton in 2000. His position earned him at least $320,000, including later stock sales. He was not assigned to any of the board's working committees, and the Board met no more than six times per year.
During his time on the board, Freddie Mac was plagued with scandals involving campaign contributions and accounting irregularities. The Obama Administration rejected a request under the Freedom of Information Act to review Freddie Mac board minutes and correspondence during Emanuel's time as a director. (what about transparency?)
The Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) later accused the board of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention." Emanuel resigned from the board in 2001 when he ran for Congress."

"Not so pretty..."
Perhaps. But definitely Chief of Staff material.
