Today’s Qs for O’s WH – 5/28/2009
May 28, 2009 3:13 PM
TAPPER: I had a couple questions -- one following up on *Jennifer's question. During a Democratic primary debate November 15, 2007, then-Senator Obama said, "I would not appoint somebody who doesn't believe in the right to privacy." And yet you're telling us, right now, that he has general comfort with her view on the Constitution, but not necessarily with that quote -- not necessarily with the right to privacy?
GIBBS: Well, again, let me be specific that he was not -- he did not specifically ask, as we've stated for the past several days. But as I just said, I think he feels -- I know he feels comfortable, generally, with her interpretation of the Constitution being similar to that of his.
TAPPER: Well, does that mean that when he said, "I would not appoint somebody who doesn't believe in the right to privacy," he didn't mean it?
GIBBS: I think -- again, I think he feels comfortable with where she is.
TAPPER: All right. Just to follow up, I looked at your "100 Days, 100 Projects" booklet yesterday, and the very first one says, quote, "Using $27 million of Recovery Act funding a public housing development in D.C., the Regency House, has undergone a green retrofit. As part of this upgrade, the building installed solar panels, green roof, rainwater collection system, energy-efficient lighting, as well as water-conserving toilets, showerheads and faucets." But when I called the D.C. Housing Authority, they said only $59,000 was spent of stimulus money, not $27 million, and of these seven things mentioned, only two of the seven were actually done --
GIBBS: I think the mistake -- mistake in that one, as you blogged about earlier, took a series of different projects in a cut- and-paste into one.
TAPPER: OK. So it wasn't as clear and -- it wasn't as accurate as it could have been?
GIBBS: I -- I think that's accurate to say, yes.

*Jennifer Loven of the Associated Press had asked just what President Obama has discussed with Judge Sonia Sotomayor in terms of her views of abortion rights and the right to privacy.

He shoots, he scores.
Well done. Gibbs lies poorly.

"And thus the concern from conservatives and Libertarians on this nomination"
I hear concern from racist right wingers obsessed with the aggrieved white male, but libertarians seem non plused either way.

And thus the concern from conservatives and Libertarians on this nomination...

Jake, why don't you ask them what they plan to do about Arnold's Shock Doctrime program in California? We are being robbed by Arnold, and by Wall St/NYC's bailout that we, in California are helping to pay for.
Where is the media? All you do is cheer for that idiot action hero because of who his wife is. He poaches off of the Kennedy legacy and the media let him get away with it. The immigrant who has cost California the most is Arnold!
This is Obama's Katrina.

Is it true the WHPC has an over and under game before every presser on how many times Gibbs will say the word, "obviously"?
Posted by: jennifert7 | May 28, 2009 4:16:16 PM
Listen it doesn't matter what jake asked, they will not put anything on the nightly news that would embarrass Obama.
This post is only for show and to say "yeah we covered that" get a life people

Jake, as always good job on punking the ugliest, stupidest Bee Gee.
But by now it must be getting just a bit boring - how many times can it be fun to make that mushmouthed boob trip over his uh, um, er, ah, words?
I mean, are there any more fish in that barrel that can be shot?

Jake, You're doing a great job asking the tough questions that no one else will ask. The administration's interpretation of the success of the first 100 days and the stimulus package is a joke. We need more reporters like you who are not afraid to make them look like the inexperienced, truth denying, power grabbing administration that they are.

Geez at me, Tweeter = Twitter.

Geez, does Gibbs follow you on Tweeter, too? This was a great question Jake. And, had he not read your blog to prepare for this ahead of time, all we would have gotten were a bunch of er..emm...umm.....let me get back to you. Does he ever really get back to reporters as he says? Just curious.

Jake, C'mon! Math is hard. Cutting and pasting is easy.
When the Obama White House says transparency, do they really mean opacity?
How funny was it that President Barack Obama went to Nevada to tout the release “100 Days, 100 Projects” booklet and none of them were in Nevada.

Gibbs knows what you blog about, Jake Tapper.
I wonder if that's the only bad cut and paste in the book.
