Who Really Wears the Pants in Russia?
Obama said his interest is in dealing directly with his elected counterpart, President Medvedev but that he can also reach out to Prime Minister Putin, as well as other sectors of Russian society so that he can get the full picture of Russia’s needs.

President Obama Seeks to Build Up Medvedev Over Putin
President Obama gave an interview to the most independent publication in Russia, Novaya Gazet, which has been highly critical of the Kremlin. The interview seemed to have been a way to build up Russian President Dmitry Medvedev - who also gave Novaya Gazet a recent interview -- and to seemingly dismiss Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
